Also received a call from 214 269-8550. Left me a message stating to call them back regarding some legal documents regarding my name. I called back and they answered, "Front Office". I asked to speak to Anthony who called me and was placed on hold with this ice cream truck keyboard music. He explained I had borrowed a loan in 2006 that had accrued interest and I would be tried on 3 crimes and taken to court, my wages garnished, and my employment interrupted. They said they were the Department of Financial Crimes. They transferred me to the investigation unit and I spoke to an Alexander Lopez who told me I owed $1566.00 immediately to settle outside of court or I would pay thousands more if I went to court. They would not tell me the company that was "sueing" me (named several Pay day advance companies), nor would they tell me their address. However, they had my social security number as well as my email address. They all were rude and had Indian accents.

They may have hacked into some EFT Pay day loan system if people who have borrowed before are getting these calls. This is how they may have our social security numbers. A few tips:

1. If you borrowed a loan that you did not pay back it would not go to a Financial Crimes dept/unit/division. It would go to a Collection Agency and you will be notified by more than just email.
2. There is no such thing as a Department of Financial Crimes. The closest thing to this is a part of the Department of Treasury and when they say financial crimes, they mean these crazies calling us!
3. Immediately notify your Bank of potential fraud and that you are a potential victim of identity theft.
4. Contact TransUnion at 1 800 680-7289 and put a flag on your credit. TransUnion will get in contact with all of the other credit reporting bureaus. If they have your social and name, they may try to apply for credit cards in your name. This flag will ensure that extra measures are taken to protect you from this happening.
5. File a police report with you local police department and hold onto your police report number as if something happens you can always use it to show that you filed a report against a potential identity theft.
6. Check your credit and bank accounts daily to look out for weird activity.
IF ANYONE HAS AN ADDRESS TO THESE PEOPLE NOTIFY THE US DEPT. OF TREASURY, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as well as your local police department immediately!!

Hope this helps!

One of my family members told me today they got a call from this phone number. They wanted info about me. My family member refused to give any info and hung up the phone I called the number(214)back from my cell phone nummber. I blocked my caller I.D. They said that I owe them money and that they are taking me to court. They claimed they are a division of the US National Bank Financial crimes division. I questioned them about the debt. I did not go for it. I must say though they do have some of my info and they were trying to scam for more and $1200. I did my homework, I did use this family member as a referal for a payday loan. One of those f####ing companies mishandled my personal info. I called my lawyer.

You need to contact your local authorities about this. This is the instructions I was given from the Financial Crimes Enforcement Division. Here is the link to their website www.fincen.gov. go to the contact section and then to security. They are very helpful and if enough people turn theese scumbags in then maybe they will be put out of business.

Same thing just happened to me. It was an Indian man telling me that I have a loan outstanding (which I never took). They could give me no more information than that. They wanted me to send money immediately, and wanted me to give them my paperwork so they could fax me "legal paperwork" telling me of the crimes against me.

Though they succeeded in scaring the poop out of me, I think if this was legitimate, then they would be serving me legal paperwork in person. If anyone has an update on their situation with this company, please post.

I am working to contact the Better Business Bureau to solve this problem. I am also interested in contacting a lawyer.

My mom got a call saying that I owed a loan company money that was not paid back in 2006.  The # was 214-269-7361 I talked to Patrick, Dept of Crime Prevention and when I asked him what is was for he was like "Jesus didn't your mom give the info"  I told him I wanted the information from him and to fax it to me, he said he could not, I asked why I had not been notified about the debt, he said because it is a loan that is not paid.  I then talked to Ron or Roy (all the guys were Indian) and he told me I would need to send 1100.00 by today or it would go to court and I would pay 4000.00, so it was my decision because I was getting in deep deep trouble.  i called back repeatedly and asked for a better business bureau info, the name of the company, I even called told them i was my attorney they still would not give out any information.  the weird thing is I did have a loan with one of the companies however I called them and my account is clear.  DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO, after I had called several times they just started  putting me on hold and then it would hang up.

I just got the same call from 214-26-7631.  Same exact story about sending money to the same place in FL or legal proceedings will be taken against me.  They said a warrant would be issued and they would come to my work.  They would not tell me who they are.  What are you going to do?

Debt Collector
Recieved a call from 214-269-8550 on August 14, 2008.  They stated that legal proceeding were being taken if I didn't send them a payment of almost $1000.  They informed me that if I did not cooperate that a warrant would be put out for my arrest.  I spoke with three different men:  James Matthews, Rod Peterson, and Frederick Flagler.  They told me to call 214-269-8550 with a refernce number from the paymnent but my caller id on my phone was from a different number 321-354-0208.  They said that the main office was in Dallas, Tx but wanted the payment sent by MoneyGram to Palm Coast Fl.  They called repeatedly often within a few minutes of each other.  Asked to speak to a manager but was given run around stating different reasons for his abscence:  in a meeting, left for a family emergency, and gone for the day.  After about 20 minutes the manager returned from his so called family emergency and called me back threatening to make my payment within 15 minutes or to watch and see what happens.  All parties were rude and hung up on me several times.
