I got a call from Eye Buy Direct about a discrepency in my glasses prescription, and I had no reason to think it was anything but a customer svc issue.
I'm going to watch my acct, though. Just in case.

These dirtbags have called incessantly today.
Rec'd junk call from 214-277-0000 - [11:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:00 pm] - did not answer, no msg left.
Naturally like most politicians, never indicate what your true intentions are. Just be as scummy as you can be. These j.e.r.k-off's would never have the intestinal fortitute and ethics, to leave an accurate, and pleasant voice jail msg complete with their A++ BBB rating, and street address to their brick and mortar facility.
Anyone that thinks that has dropped some serious acid!

Likely Time Warner callback looking for survey on customer service, I didn't pick up. I had just spoken to them and this is typical. I've only received calls from this number after speaking to TW on the phone moments earlier.

I received a call from this phone number about 5 minutes after I spoke to a representative from Time Warner Cable. Naturally, I didnt pick up, but they left me a lengthy voicemail. The voicemail was just an automatic call requesting to participate in a survey about the my recent interaction with Time Warner Cable.

I purchased eyeglasses from a very reputable online store - Eye Buy Direct and got a call from this number from their customer service department to let me know that my glasses were ready and being shipped out.
It is NOT a debt collector.
There should really be a drop down for "legitimate call" in the "Call Type" box below.

I agree with ARW - They are a pain in the neck ... I have told them to stop calling over and over again, when somebody was actually on the other end. Unsuccessfully. They call and today for example, I had the experience that actually nobody was on the other end and when I called the number, I was told it was out of service. I travel also a lot in Europe and when I am not here in NYC when they call, they just fill up my answering machine until its full and really important calls cannot be taken by my machine. Its ridiculous. Somebody please do something about these people.

I am getting sick and tired of these phone calls. I am on a no caller list - ever since then its been even worst. Irving TX 214-277-0000 call my home and my unlisted other number. I pick up, all I get is silence. Problem is, that I travel a lot and they fill up my answering machine with silence, and then the disconnection beeps.

Just got a call from the same number. I'm in NY and don't know anyone from the Texas area. They tried calling several times and then the number changed to another area code but still ended in "0000". I've read posts at other sites about numbers ending in "0000" being used in phony debt collection scams and other cons. One person even said that after they answered, $500 was charged to their mobile account.
Won't ever work on me. If I don't know the number (especially the area code) then I won't answer. If it's important or from a REAL collection agency, they'll leave a message.
