I also got a call from this number. They called me at work and just left a message to call them back. I did b/c I do not want them calling me at work. I was told there was a file against me and I told them at the moment all I wanted was for them not to be calling me at work, to call me at any other number they had on file, but not at work. The person I spoke to was very rude. She asked if I wanted to know what the matter was about and I told her not at the moment b/c I was at work so she said the was going to file a Cancellation of Debt with the IRS and hung up on me. Does anyone know what this means?

I got a call from a guy claiming he had a case number tom abbott. Call came from 1-800-893-1175.
Its a scam. I traced the toll free no to global crossing and they are the carrier. Told them investigate
or I will name them in a suit.

obviously a debt collector. said either me or my counsel needed to call them right away. message meant to sound like they were getting ready to file a lawsuit. i've heard that one before. rep left name jim langley.
