I got my call on Monday, May 26th at 9:00am Central Time. When I answered the phone they did not say anything. (I don't have Long Distance so I couldn't call the number.

I, like the rest of you, receive these calls all the time.   Our government is WORTHLESS, especially when it comes to blocking these calls.  Your only other course of action is this:  

Do NOT, under any circumstances, answer a caller you do not recognize.  When you do, all you are doing is confirming for them is that they have reached a viable, working number and then they WILL call you back PLUS they will sell your number to other scam artists so they can call you too.   If they continue to call then first, check with your phone service and see if they have a call blocker service (mine does).   If I continue to receive calls from a certain number then it goes onto my "Blocked" list.  

Also, just pressing 1 or any number they say to remove you from their list is also a scam.   It doesn't work either.   Also, I turn off my answering machine when I am home.  If it answers them, then once again it only confirms the fact that they have indeed reached a "Working" number and they WILL continue to call you.   Have a pleasant day.  Sure am glad too for websites like this.    

Thought for the day:  I Wonder what would happen if everyone stopped answering these calls.   IF they got no more answers then would they just give up and die ?

I will add that by using these tactics, there are days now when I have NO MORE phone calls from scammers!   Only had one in the last three days now.    Please folks, don't answer these phone calls.  Use your caller ID's.  

You are so correct. DO NOT PRESS ANY NUMBERS. I was told couple years ago by my home phone carrier, if you did you could be opening yourself up to the scam & they could use your number to call anywhere & you could end up with a huge phone bill. I rec'd call from this number on 5/26/14 a holiday. Didn't answer no msg. left. I let go to answering machine then block them after checking 800 notes posts. Thanks everyone for all the info you pass along to all of that are enduring the frustration of all these unwanted calls.

Don't feel bad..Comcast only allows 12 blocked calls which is ridiculous..who is your server.

Don't under why ALL phone companies are not progressively try to stop these unwanted calls by adding features to block them..are the telemarketers smarter than the phone companies..or is that our phone companies just don't care.

Called my DNC registered landline on 05/27/2014 @ 03:03 PM Grand Prairie, TX. Caller ID shows Cellphone TX.  No message was left.
I get a lot of SPAM calls from Grand Prairie, TX.

Called my number, left missed call, and left no message. Also received call from a number in CT on the same day. Perhaps the two are related.

I doubt you will ever see any airline tickets, or your money, again.  Did they identify themselves?  If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

recorded message said I had won a free Bahamas cruise if I would take a survey. Hung up on them.

Just received a call from 214-317-9541 and tried to block it but couldn't. I had called it back and it said that the number had been disconnected.  Be careful if you get this call.

I have received several calls from this number.  When I call it back I get a message from Verizon that the number is disconnected and no longer in use.  So why am I getting calls from this number if it is disconnected. I now blocked this call.

Got a call from this number today and took the survey. I was awarded with a free 7 day cruise all expenses paid to Jamaica! all i have to do is send the money for the Airline tickets which were reasonable as well. Great Day!

Attempted to call this number back several times, knowing it was some sort of a scam.
The message said the number was no longer in service, disconnected, and/or not a working number.

I received a call from 214.317.9541 on my cell phone this morning.  The female recorded caller said, Congratulations, you just won... [that's when I hung up.]

Received recorded msg on cellphone telling me I'd won a free cruise just for answering a short survey. Immediately hung up!

If your phone number isn't already added to my phone contacts, i will not answer the phone.  this number called & i didn't answer.  while the phone was ringing, i searched the phone # and came across this website... i've now blocked the number from calling me.

Received a call and blocked them instantly!

I don't have the luxury of being able to ignore unknown calls it could be my son ho is deployed. No response when I answered the call. Called it back and was told this number is no longer in service. ?? Have to call my cell carrier later and I will request info from them on how to report these types of calls when I do. Damn sick and tired of them.

***TOTAL SCAM**** Just got a call from (214) 317-9541, when I answered professionally as it was my personal cell phone they called but I do use it for work - the person stumbled over their words & hung up on me!  Thank you for reporting this, does anyone have insight on how I can report this # or who this Dallas, TX contact is?  ***TOTAL SCAM***

Scammers are out there, looking for the idiots who pick up the call and do what they say.

It's sad that we all are subjected to a ton of unwanted calls daily.
The do not call list is a joke.
Even if we all Report the unwanted calls. the scammers just use another number.

I will now block the entire 214 area code.  So simple!

One more area code that they can never call me!  Buy a blocking phone or device - they work and they are inexpensive!

Caller ID came up as Wireless Caller. Recording, you'll get a free trip to the Bahamas for answering survey. I think the "survey" aspect of it allows telemarketers to skirt the FCC Do Not Call rules!! If you listen to the end you can press "9" (I think) to be removed from their list, hope it works.

Another call from these low life scum today. when I answered, line was dead. These pricks keep calling and nothing I have done to stop them is working. The do not call registry is a joke and all the complaints I have filed with the FCC and FTC have done no good at all. I guess I will just have to live with these FN telemarketers or spend my hard earned money on a call blocking device. Thank you Federal Government for nothing!
