Received a call from this number, answered, few seconds of silence, then the phone started to ring as if I had called somebody. A woman answered and said "hello." I said "hello, did you call me?" and she hung up.

This lady called, said she was with ChoicePoint, and asked for information regarding some person who never worked here. She then tried to ask me my name and position.
I tried to call the number, but the call wouldn't go through. Go a "Sorry, call was rejected" message.
After some research, learned that ChoicePoint is a data gathering outfit who used to sell social security numbers and other personal information.

This is a VOIP number which is apparently shared by various companies and entities who use VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) for their phones. In my case it turned out to be my vet (who uses VOIP) calling to schedule an appointment for my dog.

Okay so this person called my work number. So I pretended that he called the local bank by saying thank you calling for XXX Bank.I could tell he wasn't sure what to do because he hesitated than repeated the bank name. He tells me that he wants to open an account. I told him that's good but that he would have to call our sales team or go into a branch. He asked for the number and I gave him an 800 number. Then he asked me for my name and I could have sworn he said sweetheart. I pretended like I didn't hear him and asked if there was anything else I could help him with. I could hear someone in the background telling him to ask me what my name was. I kept ignoring the question and kept asking is there anything else I could help him with. I finally told him that I could hear the other person feeding him questions. So he asked a duifferent question and I decide enought was enough.
