Unsolicited call pushing for $100, eventually asked for just $20

Got a call pushing for $100, eventually lesser amounts, but no less than $20.

I answered the call (forwarded via my Google Voice account) and it clearly was forwarding it back to somewhere else. They spelled out a number and hung up - hoping I'll call. Guess what, I'm not, and I'm blocking it with Google Voice. They'll get the busy signal if they try again.

Six of one, half dozen of the other. They're both a rip off.

Called 6-6-2012 @ 19:11, no message left on working recorder.  Probably a scam anyway.

When answered was that "delay" as someone seems to be scrambling to get online, (and then can't pronounce your name). Appears that this is some phone marketing from previous comments. I'm also on the Do-No-Call list. Seems to be working less and less well.
A call to the number says "Please call back from the telephone number original called", and of course it was the same phone.

I know what u are talking about! I know personally two people down in Texas right now that are calling and making a living off scamming people everyday! And the sad thing about it is that they go our and get cash donations that are called are called "soft pieces in the telemarketing world" that means they go and pick up cash off of some poor person and put it in their pocket! It never goes to no one in the FOP organization!

Trust me I know about these scam telemarketing companies calling people to solicit donations. I use to work for one as the driver. And my exboyfriend is now down there in Dallas doing the same thing for the Dallas Sherriffs FOP#85. Yeah sure they; do finger printing of the children in front of the Walmarts every weekend!

Have had these calls before.  Used to come from places like El Paso.  This one shows to be coming from Dallas.  The number is 214-396-0153.  On my caller I.D. It says: TX Troopers Asn. Knew not to pick it up as was told before when i reported the El Paso calls for donations that the Texas State Troopers do not ask for donations in such a manner.  This number and the people behind this number are scammers, criminals and i am reporting them.

We do not accept unsolicited fund raising calls ..... especailly when it turns out to be from you !

I received a call this morning march 3rd. The caller seemed surprised when I answered and they hung up.   Maybe I didn't sound old enough to be vulnerable.

I received a call from 214-396-0153. this is a SCAM, they hung up when my answering machine came on. When I called back the number from the same phone the automated message said to "Please call back from the telephone that you were originally contacted on".  DUH HELLO!! I am calling FROM THE SAME PHONE. My number is on the "DO NOT CALL LIST" this obviously is a FARCE also.

When they call, if you don't answer & your answering machine comes on, they just hang up.  How rude!  They're only scamming for maney.

Yes it is a "donations" scam that has nothing to do with Texas Troopers or any valid law enforcement org.

It registers as Texas Troopers Assoc.  I treat all phone solicitors as a scam.  Wouldnt give one red dime to someone calling me.  Could be legit, but my guess it's not.  It's a shame, because I'm sure there are some good people out there.  It's just that the scammers screw it up for everyone.

this phone is run by crooks, you see if you donate money . they send some laky low life grunt  to pick up the money from you . but to out smart them have the real STATE TROOPERS TO BUST THEM WHEN they come at your place  for the MONEY. then follow them back to the higher ups .like my  BROTHER GOMER USE TO SAY,  SURPRISE,  SURPRISE !!!

That's a solicitation to get you to donate money to the Texas State Trooper's Association. This is run by a fundraising company that's been in trouble with the state:

Basically they keep most of the money. If you want to help out local law enforcement support groups, I would suggest you do your own searches and research and pick a good one ... don't rely on cold-call telemarketers.
