Associate called for an employee who has not been with the company for some time. I asked him if there was something I could help him with, but he insisted he could only speak with the person he called for. I told him I could take a message; all he would give me is his first name and phone number.

Very clearly a sales call.

TWIC....The woman in charge!!!  They called and asked for the owner and I tell them I am the owner and they want to argue with me (I am one of the owners).  I then proceed to b***h them out and call them a bunch of effing losers and dial tone them and they still call back and say they want to talk to the owner and tell how rude I am.  What a bunch of dumba**es.  I love caller ID for this reason and I will put cold callers on hold because it's their $$$$ sitting on hold.

This guy Joe from Texas Coastal stated that he had talked with my boss regarding a development project. We always ask, with whom am I speaking, in regards to? Anytime they say a development project we automatically tell them that we do not take solicitation or cold calls and that we are not interested in investments. He said I asked to speak to "boss' name" and I said sir, these are our instructions and you fall into the "I DONT TAKE CALLS LIST". He hung up. If he was a legitimate business which he obviously is not he would have said, "Please take down my number and given me the number and said" Have your
boss call me at his convenience. He just got reported to the Do Not Call list because this is the 3rd time this number has called our business in the last 30 days. It is helpful to have an excel spreadsheet where you can list these calls because you can quickly sort and see the who and what and relay this information back to them.

Exactly the same experience here, although our caller was a woman, and wouldn't give her name. Won't leave a message (and yes, that's a HUGE red flag for me as well).

Ross Carmen called here from Texas Coastal Energy and asked for my employer by name.  When In informed the caller that he was not available, he indicated he would call back at another time.  This is always a red flag when they won't leave a message, because they know we will not call them back.  We will block the number in the future.

same here.  i love, love, love caller id.  i just have to check the numbers here to know if they are legit. if it comes up 'unknown' or 'blocked', i automatically know it is a scam.

Seth Olson just called from Texas Coastal Eng. I placed him on hold and checked his number here. I told him my boss on the other line and he would not leave a message. I will not be patching him through either.

Yes, I really do like these "cold calls" looking for investors.  Maybe they should look up our company information and invest in us; we are a sure thing; they are dreamers, and frankly, at this age, I can no longer depend on dreams....smiling.

Received a phone call from Ross Carmen asking for the owner.  He told me he was from Texas Coastal and wouldn't give me any details aside from wanting to discuss a "project".  After checking here I advised Mr. Carmen that we'd already received a similar call and weren't interested.  He became agitated and informed me that I should tell my boss to actually talk to callers because he won't know what opportunities he's missing out on by rejecting calls.  LOL

When are these people going to learn that when they ask for a guy who hasn't been with the company for 10 years, they aren't getting past me????

Calling to tell me that he's got some ppl gathered up to drill for oil and is looking for few investor to get in on this "incredible' investment. RIght...
