I have a number that used to belong to a local doctor, so I guess this particular call almost make sense. But it's been my number for over two years, so maybe they and all the others that call looking for this person should maybe UPDATE their database every now and then. Just saying.

Received a call a few minutes in the Rehab Services Dept asking for "Kay." After conversing, it was determined the caller was seeking the former director of our hospital's Home Care Dept; the two depts are not connected. Very Persistent and Secretive Caller!! After informing her that we were not a part of that dept, she requested the name / number of our director. When I replied that I did not know who I was speaking w/ and do not supply numbers in this type situation, she stated she is an "account manager" who has worked w/ our hospital, even in the recent past. She did not offer a company name, her name, or what type work she has done w/ us. I finally determined that she was a recruiter and offered her the name and number of our in-house recruiter, which is our standard procedure. She continued to try to obtain our director's telephone number w/o ever supplying any of her identifying information. I was more stubborn and the conversation ended w/ her having only the recruiter's name and telephone number! After googling and seeing that the call came from Delta, I was not surprised. Our dept has dealt w/ them in the past; our then-director was extremely dissatisfied, to the point that he informed them he would not have any further business dealings w/ them.

They called me and hung up on the first ring. I imagine they get paid by the call, so the "placement specialist" will call and hang up. No need for conversation.

I did not go to college for 7 years to be treated like a tele-marketer. In a high paced sales job if you are not going to be honest or forthcoming about your interest or your background I won't give you the time of day. The reason we were not able to help you is the fact that you must remain sober to be a doctor...... How's that for professionalism?

Angie, is this really your best command of the language?

We have a tough job. It is hard to find jobs for mean spirted physicians who can't spell.

Received a phone call and asked if I would be interested in a job in Alaska. I live in Texas. I guess I won't be calling them.

I have a Vonage phone line with a San Diego, CA number. In the last 5 days I have received 5 calls from Delta Co. I called "Charles" (214-442-4440) back and left a message asking him to not call again. That was on day 2, they keep calling. My answering machine message now says: "You have reached a private residence. If you are looking for a doctor, or are soliciting anything do not leave a message and please remove my number from your listing."

They've called me over 25 times and I keep requesting that they take me off their call list. Once they called me at 4:30 in the morning. AWFUL.

they call and hang up
probably a recruiter company like the others have noted
cheap service , yes cheap service, they continually call and don't leave messages
or hang up when we do, that;'s a tool or a cheap service
Angie 2010-08-16 16:20:52 Unknown
They do this to me too. I felt discriminate and I thought If I do something wrong to receive that tratement. The recruiter hangme the phone twice. Because they call me twice.

Delta Healthcare Placement -- they are wonderful! I first "met" them through a "Monster.com"-type website, and in less than a week I had three interviews and three job offers. One of the best recruitment firms with which to work. They place professionals from multiple medical disciplines, not just physicians (eg: I'm an occupational therapist), and they are very careful to listen and match your desires/professional goals/interests/skill set with those of their clients.

The number belongs to The Delta Companies. http://www.tdcpeople.com I received a call from them asking if I wanted a new job opportunity. They didn't actually have a job to offer, however, they took down my information and started looking for a job for me. I'm pretty picky so I was shocked when they called me back. I thought for sure I told them enough to scare them off. I usually hate dealing with recruiters. Thanks to them I was able to find a job that wasn't listed on Monster.com in less than a week. They seemed to actually give a crap about me. Never thought a recruiter could do that.

THanks for your post, it was helpful.
Dave from Chicago 2008-07-18 14:51:25 Unknown
yes, they are Delta Physician Placement. Located in the Big D (that's Dallas, not Delta)
Franky... they're fun to mess with--if you have that Tom Mabe gene in you deep down somewhere. If someone calls me (uhm, rather than me calling them), I consider myself to have full-out rights to pretend to be someone I'm not, or engage in any other crazy or obnoxious behaviour, or simply be rude back after leading them on that I'm a high priced phyician that they can place.
Otherwise, they are a simply a medical recruiting firm that is fairly tenacious (sp?).

Thanks for your history with this number. I got the same treatment. Any professional that hangs up on me when I ask who's calling goes on my "never answer" list.

Caller: Delta Physician Placement
Jeff 2007-11-30 19:22:35 Unknown
They asked if I was some doctor, then I said no and they hung up.
Then I did a search for their phone number and found out they are Delta Physician Placement from Dallas, Texas. See website: http://www.healthcarehrbuyersguide.com/result ... 68&num_page=100
Since this came up, I thought I would let anyone else know.
