Man called with horrible accent saying he was from the BBB.  Really lol tried to get me to verify someones employee staus and title sent him directly to the automated verification line.  Whatever scammer im not get taken lol

This person called our business and wanted to verify an email address for one of our employees.  I always verify their name and name of the business they are calling from.   I also ask what the call is regarding.  She told me twice that she was from Better Business Bureau.   I asked where she was located and she hung up on me.  Thank goodness she had the incorrect email address for our employee.

I got a call today from an un-named individual calling from the "American University Association" (which as far as I can tell does not exist).  The caller had a thick Indian (or related) accent.  She was trying to verify whether an employee worked at the university.  I was the person she was asking about and said so.  She asked if I still worked there any my position. I responded yes and then she started asking about other individuals (graduate students).  I said that all employment verifications had to go through HR.  She asked for the number, which I gave her.  Then she disconnected the call.  All of my employment information (name, address, etc.) is public as this is a public univeristy, so I don't really now what they wanted.  She didn't ask for any other information, just whether I was employed here.  I called the number back and it was busy...big shock.

Someone called saying that they were the better business bureau

Receive numerous calls from this number. They are looking for information for people who are employed at the company where I work. Have told them to remove my name and number from the list. They don't.

Received a call from "James B" of the BBB asking info re: my boss; her title, email, mailing address, etc.  I placed him on hold 3x because his call seemed odd with a lot of background noise & a heavy foreign accent.  Said they were going to send an invitation letter.  He had the incorrect email therefore, I didn't correct him.

I wouldn't trust these calls. If they cannot provide a name & phone number to call them back, they're not legit.  BTW, his phone number on caller id only rings busy.

They called claiming to be the BBB and tried to verify our address and the title and employment status of our employees.  

When I asked if I could call them back they said that they were not authorized to give me a number to call.

Received numerous calls from this number. They are requesting information about employees who work at the company I work at. Asked them to remove my name and number from their list, but they keep calling.

'Camille' from the Better Business Bureau was trying to verify the University's address.  Had a foreign accent and difficult to understand.  Said she was trying to send invitations for a conference, but would not say what the subject of the conference was.  I told her I could not direct her call without such information. She thanked me politely and discontinued the call.

Just received a call from a man claiming to be from the National Pharmacuetical Association. I called the National Pharmacuetical Association and was told to "ignore it, it didn't come from our office". How are we supposed to screen calls if companies are lying in order to get information on employees?

Just got a call from this number at work on the console, The caller claimed to be from the AMA, American Medical Association.

Got a call from this number, the woman claimed she was from the BBB.  She wanted to verify my work address and said she was sending an invitation to an event.  I know it sounds like a scam but what exactly are they scamming?  My company address is public information anyway.  I think these people are annoying and need to find something better to do with their time.

Said he was Dr Logan from Pfizer and asked for my postal address so that he could send me a requirement.  When I said I'd like to know more about what this was he hung up.

Someone using this US number called a friend of mine in the UK yesterday evening (Oct 6) claiming to be Dr Logan from Pfizer and requesting her home address.  She declined to give her address and hung up.  Incidentally, I was a victim of identity theft on Oct 4, and she was one of the people who received a spam email requesting money, purporting to be from me.  Could it be connected?

Got a call today...left muted voice mail which quickly hangs up.

I got a call from this number at work asking to verify my email address.  I asked for her number to return the call b/c I was busy and the woman gave me the number to the National National for Assisted Living.  What a scam.

Got a call from this number, he asked for an employee of the company.  I told him he doesn't work in the office and he asked for his number.  I went looking for it in my phone and he hung up.

I recently pruchased the Derma Wand, and I returned it.  I had a discrecpancy with their collection department and have since received harrasing phone calls from said phone number.  The man has called my cell and my office numerous times.  He tells me to F*@$! off, and to go F*@! myselor just listens and tehn hangs up.  CREEPY and CRAZY!!
I am in the process of filing a complaint with Derma Wand and hopefully the situation with be taken care of.  Kind of scary since this person has all of my contact information.  Do not use or buy the Derma Wand products and please pass to your friends!!!

Thank you to those who have provided valuable information in catching the individual who is fraudulently  claiming to be with HCCA and contacting our 2009 Compliance Institutte attendees in an attempt to harvest contact information.

We are getting closer to catching the individual and intend to take legal action once the individual?s identity is confirmed.

Caller identify himself as Rayan from BBB (looks like a high-school kid) extracting details about compnay emails/address etc. ... when called back this number is disconnected.
