Got the same call from this number identifying them as my local Police Dept.  I notified the Police Dept and they informed me that this is a scam.

Thank you everyone for their posts. I got the same call, and it is very unnerving to law abiding citizens.
I hope someone takes them to court and put them in prison for this harrasment.

These moth******ers messed with the wrong people. Have fun in prison! Called saying they were going to arrest my mother in 30 minutes. Then harassed me on the phone because he found me on Facebook! Do not give them your email, credit card number and basically just f****ng curse that moth******er out and call the police!

Just got a call from this guy as well scam written all over it 2nd time he called.

Same thing............ just got a call saying either I pay $ 3891 or will be arrested in 25 minutes.

Got the same exact call from exact same number. I immediately called my local Police office to verify to check if there were any warrants out for me.

Got a similar call on 9/2/13. Very heavy accent.
I really didn't get everything that was said.
Sounded like a scam, but it still scared me.
I was relieved when I found out that other

This call was almost going to faint me. Please stop them from harassing people. These con artists call from India. This gang is making peoples' lives miserable. This morning was one of the worst mornings of my life. I almost collided with the wall when my sister knocked at my door. She was very scared and said that she got a call from government that they were going to arrest me. I was asleep so I woke up, heard her saying this and quickly got up from the bed. I almost hurt myself by hearing this scary news. PLEASE STOP THAT GROUP OF CRIMINALS FROM CALLING PEOPLES' HOMES.

Just got same call from these idiots.  Male caller with heavy accent saying I had 3 criminal charges against me and to call within 45 minutes ,this officer of law, or an arrest warrent will be issued against me.    I googled his number, and thanks to all that shared thier experience, my suspesions were confirmed.  On my CID IT said from Dallas TX.  This is a BIG SCAM.  DO NOT CALL THEM.

Caller has an accent. Had to listen multiple times. ID caller says Atlanta City Go. Introduces himself as "Officer Lee" with the badge #4927. Says I have a complaint filed against me and that I have to call "officer Thomas O'Brian" @ 214-447-7713 or I will be arrested.

I received a similar call and same pattern- " there are federal complaints against you.......call officer Tom Savran"  The person appear to be male with accent and hard to get a complete picture.Most likely an Indian accent with fast pace sentences.

I plan to notify FTC and other agencies to stop these annoying calls.What else can be done to STOP this scam?

Received a call 8/28/13. indian accent, this person was reading from a script, fake.  the caller ID read Dallas, Tx.  report these people. This was a female, yes, a female named Deputy David Marshal from Federal Crime Division.

I called the same number back and first somebody pick up the phone. And when they realized that I am suspecting them of scam and they hung up. After I called again and all hear is that extension 6029 is busy. We called the FBI and reported it to them and they took report and suggested that we should call Telecommunications Bureau, either On Line or Phone.  Is there a way to find these scammers or may be should be reported to INTERPOL as well

Its illegal to impersonate a officer and of course, any of the other agency's as well! None of them are going to call you and try to extort money out of you, the IRS is going to mail you about problems, and the rest would just show up unannounced and just arrest you if your a criminal!  The threats are scare tactics (extortion) to scam you out of money! Debt collection is also a civil matter..  and they have to follow FDCPA laws in accordance..

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

Just had a similar called...some Indian guy claim to be officer Roger Gibson. What a freaking joke. My wife and I, we just laugh our's a** off.

I received a message from "Officer Michael Black" telling me I needed to call him back because there has been a complaint lodged against my name (which by the way, he didn't even get right). He said I had to call him to find out "what is going on". His accent was so heavy I had to listen to the message several times just to get the drift of what he was attempting to threaten me with. I am tempted to give him a call just to pretend that I'm worried about being arrested, but I also recall hearing about scams asking or telling you to call back, and then you get a gigantic phone bill and THAT is the scam. I'm talking THOUSANDS of dollars!!! So I will resist the temptation to play with these jerks and just hope nobody gets fooled by these criminals!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
