They called and left a message about a bad check I supposedly wrote and that is ridiculous because I would never write a bad check.

I blocked the caller and will be awaiting a proper certified letter of any fraud I committed.

They called and demanded 1000 on a card from me that they said was used by me but the address on file was not me and i do not have any knowledge of this account debt!! When i asked for a supervisor she threatened to call the police to arrest me And then hung up on me! I called my attorney and gave their information! They must not know my LEGAL rights like i do!!

This "Debt Collector" is nothing more than that.  They buy old debts that are generally well past the statute of limitations, and possibly not even on a credit report any longer (after 7 years from the last payment made) that use illegal tactics to scare people into paying.  They cannot and will not come to your place of employment. They cannot lien your personal property (ie, autos, motorcycles, Rv's etc) They CANNOT put you in jail (those days are well behind us) and they cannot levy or lien property without a judgement. If you have not notified by certified letter that a judgement has been filed on you, then, once again, its just Bull---- talk.  I would block their number, and I would NOT call them or answer their calls.

OMG.. these people have been harrassing me for a while now and they keep saying i will be served withing my county blah, blah, blah..i've never heard of anyone doing jail time for defaulting on a loan..this is simply crazy

2 bit law office, Hanson, now debt collectors. Mainly buying old debt, then try to collect.

Received an automated call from someone that is a solicitation
or a debt collector. As soon as the call said "International Arbitration"
I hung up. I will never know who they were trying to reach. I just
hang up because the various blogs tell me that it is useless to try to
tell them that they are calling a wrong person.

Now they are International Arbitration, formerly Hansen & Associates.
Using payday loan portfolios to launder drug money.
They are heavy drug users many with criminal backgrounds for sale and distribution.

Received automated call from 214-484-0029 from "Tim Johnson" at "Hanson Law" to someone named Vanessa Williams at my work number.  The only Vanessa Williams I know about was on the TV show "Ugly Betty".  They said they were serving notice for case #143918 and that this Vanessa person has now been officially served.  If this is at all real, which I doubt, they haven't served her.  They mentioned the phone number 773-770-8865.  How bizarre for them to believe that someone at a wrong number could possibly be served over the phone.  It's a scam.
