I receive a call saying they were calling from Davenport Law firm and I will admit that I got scared and gave tem the money $990....I feel so stupid! I only gave it to them because after they called Igot a call that kept coming up Emergency Number and when Ianswered it they told me that is was the police from where I live at and they were coming to get me!!! I borrowed the money from my brother.....fool me once shame on me Igot a call tonight from another number tonight telling me the same thing....so I got smart and called the police these people really don't realize how they violate U.....

The same person keeps calling me saying that I have took out a payday lone that was debited to my account yet I have no money and now he is saying I am getting arrested tomorrow morning because of a payday cash lone which I do not receive

I have had the same problem.   I did apply about 2 years ago online for a payday loan and that is when this nightmare started.  They not only call me at work and my cell phone but also call my 80 year old mother saying I took out a loan and have to pay $_____ or I am being arrested or they claim to be a "fraud investigator"!!   They scared her to death and she paid them because she has not heard of this scam.   I now I am having to pay her back for something I didn't owe!   Also, I recently filled in an application for free college courses at Coursera.org and evidently the website was not secure.   I now get about 100 emails a day most of them from payday loan companies and guess what.....I am also getting the calls from the scammers again.  Please file complaints with the FBI online, attorney general, and put a fraud alert on your credit reports.

Who are these people an where did hey come from. This man told me I took out a payday loan from cashnet an I ran away with the money($8,136) to be exact. They were going to call my job an have me arrested. Man as hard as times are right now I wish I did have that money. How do I get rid of them?

I GOT THE SAME CALL TO MY WORK AND I HAVE IT ALL RECORDED SINCE ALL CALLS  COMING IN ARE BEING RECORDED..  THEY TOLD ME THAT I OWE 800 DLLS ALSO AND THAT MY CASE WAS GOING TO BE USE IN COURT TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHERES .  THEY ALSO TOLD ME THEY WERE  CALLING FROM AN ATTORNEY'S OFFICE.  CALLED THAT NUMBER BACK AND ALL THEY SAY IS THAT I'M CALLING LAW FIRM BUT THEY DO NOT SAY NAME OF THE LAW FIRM.

I just received a call from a Stephen Morgan also threatening me from 214.634.4611 stating that I took a payday loan from American Cash Loan and never paid it back.  Same thing has below and he has an Indian accent.  Please help as well to make this stop!

Got a call from this number 214-635-4611 saying that I was approved for a $2000 loan. Wanted me to send them $200 by western union and they would send me them 2000.00 plus my 200.  It is a scam.  When they didn't get the money, they began calling me 5 to 7 times a day stating that my money is ready and kept insisting that I send the 200.00.  They began cursing and yelling at me.  When I  would asked them questions, they would get mad at me and curse me out and then hang up.  They are using different names such as, Gavin Woods, Attorney John Davenport, LLoyd Davis, Mike Anderson, Dale Smith and Joseph.  They also call me from a 415-484-6151 threatening me that they have a lawsuit against me for $8000.00 and that they were going to call my employer.  I retired on disability and do not work.  They call me a liar and threaten me again and again.  I told them to stop calling me.  But they keep calling me.   I hope someone can catch theses people and prosecute them to the fullest.

My teenager daughter got a call from the same number yesterday saying she took out a payday loan and that the cops are coming to arrest her this morning if the money was not payed  he said his name is Andrew Jackson (dead give away).  I called when she told me and told him that a now its a scam and they hang up on me.  I then had her call with her number and had me on three way, as soon as they picked up he call he addressed her by name and tried to intimate her,  then when he heard my voice on the other line telling him to met us the next day at the 113th .  He hang up on us.  This time his name was Justin.

I got the same call today, I have listened to the message over and over again and wrote down the ss, bank account, and drivers license number they said they had of mine. These three numbers were wrong, some number switched on some others I've never heard of. He threatened to have me arrested within the next 48 hrs but never left a name only said he worked for davenport law firm. I looked up the law office and although it is a real office the number they have to contact them is not the same as the one that showed up on my phone. Has anyone tried to get in contact with the law firm? I think I'll call in the morning and ask them about what they do and see if this company is part of this

I have gotten calls from these idiots saying that they will come to my job or home and bring an arrest warrent and a supenioa. They can do nothing to you except annoy you. I am retired from the NYPD and we never called to tell you we have an arrest warrent for you or anything else.What I do when they call I tell them it is the law that you have to send me in writing any information concerning this and I have 30 days to dispute this.  They can not do anything to you. They also say they are going to my job but I am retired 18 yrs. I also tell them they are on the FBI's scam list and they say I'LL call you back but they dont. When they realize you aren't showing any fear they hang up.

I keep getting calls from this number. The guy claims his name is Stan Lee and he tells me to not disregard his call and good luck with whatever unfolds on me. He has an extremely thick accent. When he leaves a voicemail he does not state what law firm he is from or who has the complaint against me. When I called back one guy said the complaint was from Cash Net USA and then the other guy said it was US Cash. I have no idea what is going on but the calls are ridiculous. I get at least ten a day. I told Stan Lee that he was lying and trying to scam me and that if he does have a complaint about me then to take me to court because I have proof that I did not receive a loan from any of the companies they are claiming. He proceeded to call me some very foul names before I hung up on him. Now a new number calls and I swear it is the same guy. I believe they are all from India. I read what Alfalfa wrote and I reported the phone calls to the FTC as well as the BBB IC3, the Consumer Reporting Agency and tomorrow I am going to my local police department and reporting it.

I have been getting these same exact kind of calls. My sister called the number from her cell phone...and they told her that I would be arrested at 11 am. The fact that they wanted a payment from a green dot card is really what threw up a flag for me and the fact that they answered the phone by saying "a law firm" plus they also gave a name that didn't quite fit with the accent I was hearing. I will admit that it scared me a great deal before I took a minute to piece things together.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

i am getting threats to my person and to my disabled grandaughter from this aaa, he says we are going to be beaten and raped over and over again. my grandaghter isn't even 2 yet.he say i have a loan  out and i don't. he says his name is mike anderson from davenport law offices and won't give me proof of the debt.this is on a weekly basis.and he will be very vulger. what can i do?

I received about six calls from this number 214-635-4611 I answered one call the guy on the phone told me that I was going to be arrested in the morning, he also had an heavy accent I just hung up on him. I may never use the internet again you cant trust anybody anymore.

It is a SPAM!!.. do not listen to them.. they will threaten you but the have nothing.. You can not be arrested and thrown in jail for defaulting on a loan (even a payday loan).

I got that phone call too and the man with the Indian accent said the police are arresting me tomorrow morning at 10 am, this is Dec. 10th, 2012. I need to know if anyone has been arrested or sued so I can be prepared. He started out his message to find out if I have a lawyer and what his name is, then he threatened the arresting me and suing me.

They called work threating to have me arrested.

They called me at 7:30 in the morning, twice after I did not pick up the first time. They told me I had a law suit against me and then asked if I was aware of it. I said no I am not. You're calling me at 7:30 in the morning. Do not call here again. I could barely understand him with his accent. These people highly irritate me.

my Daughter just called me frantic because she is getting these calls also.....she is reporting it to the police and the local news station. This is crazy, scares the heck out of people. She is getting called on her cell and at work!!!
