Called my cell phone, but couldn't hear anything.

It's Santander USA, if you recently purchased a car, or inquired about an auto loan...

Been getting calls for the last 5 days and they hang up. I too have a car loan through santander but I just got the car 6 days ago so it isn't overdue.

received call on my cell, no message was left. would be nice if people left messages.

I have had a total of 8 calls from this number in last couple of days. They dont say anything when you answer.  I try to call back, it rings and hangs up.   Very frustrating.

I finally got someone to talk to when they called me.  She said she needed additional information about the vehicle.  I told them they should have received all the information from the car dealership that all my information and the vehicle's information was on the loan contract I signed and they can look at that for any information they need.  She said they will keep calling me then.  I told her thats fine, I will continue not to answer.  They actually haven't called back since :)

Yep, I just got a call and it is Santander verifying mailing address, color, make and model of car.

I also have a car loan with Santander. The car was bought less than two weeks ago and the phone calls started a few days ago. I have answered once and they asked for my husband. I couldn't understand everything she was saying but I guess she didn't want to speak to me, even though it's under both our names. They have called already twice today and will not leave a message.

Thanks for the information.  I have been getting a call from this number.  I also got a car loan from Santander.  I will not give information without having to call them back with the # I have for them.

They called and I missed the call. I called back and a lady with a heavy accent (perhaps Caribbean?) asked for my Social Security Number and I refused to provide that since they initiated the call. She stated that they were calling to "welcome" me to the company. I recently purchased a car that was financed through Santander, but they should already have my information. I hung up after her I was not comfortable giving my information to her.

Just received call from this # on house phone.Hung up after 2 rings,no message.Just purchased a car but not financed through them.Daughter got same call,only they wanted her name,and SS#.

I bought Toyota Camry 2007 10 days ago. In less than a week, they called me and hang up. The following week (today), they called me again and they hang up. My loan is with Wells Fargo. Who the hell is now calling my cell phone and hanging up?

Upon answering the phone, I heard a beep, and was transferred to an agent. I purchased a vehicle a few months ago and my loan was serviced through Santander. They wanted to "welcome me to Santander," but in reality, they just wanted to ask additional information about the account, e.g. confirm mailing addresses, what color is the vehicle
(??).

Same here... called and said nothing, then I heard a beep after my second hello, and they hung up.  I just purchased a vehicle with them too, so that must be who it is.

They called my cell, then hung up without speaking.  I called back from another phone - it's Santander USA.  They service my car loan.  This is the 3rd time this company has called and hung up for no reason, and I purchased my car less than 2 weeks ago.  First payment isn't due for another month, so it's not collections.

Last time I returned the call, I was told they were "probably just verifying the validity of the number".
