I'm in SF(415 area), got this strange number today, then researched and found this site.
This number is just creepy

Got one of these yesterday to my 415 area code cell phone from "AT&T" robot asking for my zipcode.  Reported to AT&T and FTC.

my phone is also 415# too. Just got a call from this number saying it's AT&T & asked me to enter zip code & last 4 digit of security number due to security issue. I just filed a police report just now as I have already entered the information.

I strongly believe the phone call from the number i listed above is a scam. The computerized voice said it was AT&T and then asked me to verify my voicemail password by entering the number into the keypad. If it wasn't a computer calling, I would've seriously told her to go F*@K herself.

yes, I too received the automated call claiming to be from ATT and wanting my zip code.  I hesitated and the call ended.

similar to other reports... obviously this is a scam to build a list of cel phone numbers with the zip code. why don't they give up?

It's still going... supposedly AT&T asking me to enter my zip due to a security breach.  I do have an AT&T cell phone and just an hour or so before I got this call I had entered a bunch of codes into my phone keypad to try and change the number of rings before answer according to these instructions: http://lifehacker.com/5878635/change-how-long ... ls-to-voicemail so I was concerned I might have entered some codes that somehow gave evildoers evil access to my phone.

Got a call from this number 215-277-2084 asking for last four digits of my father's social; my daughter gave it. It's a scam. Find out who did this please and shut them down.

I just discovered a voice mail (please enter your zipcode) from this number. Just as others are describing. I am in 415 area code.

Called my cell (415 area code) and I let it go to vm. Vm playback was asking me to enter my zip code. Fraud call - BE AWARE!

Got the call as well. Att is checking to make sure my account is secure, im also in the 415 area

got one too, this time it was "BofA." Freaks!
Gave it about 5 seconds and hung up.

I'm in the 415 area code and got the same call from this number, traced it to the Pennsylvania, called the Levittown police and was told to file a report with my local police department

I also received this call and stupidly entered my zip code.  Didn't ask for any other info. from me. I reported it to ATT as well and had an additional security pass code put on my account.  Nervous that I gave out my zip code...

I just received the same recorded message others have reported: This is an important call about a recent security problem with AT&T customer accounts, please confirm your identity, enter your ZIP... now enter the last four of your social...  I entered my ZIP but only offered a 0 after that, trying to get a human on the line.  No luck.  Calling the number back only gets a pre-recorded "all circuits are busy now" message.  I called AT&T to confirm, and they have no connection to the number whatsoever.  Feel free to report it should you receive the same; maybe with enough customer concern they might get involved.

Pre-recorded statment claiming to be at&t. Looks like a scam with the hopes of getting your zip code and other info. It is comman for criminals to use this type of call service and if they are calling you, there is a good chance they have some of your information already. Use caution and never give any info, even a zip code...

What is funny is that the AT&T headoffice is in my town, in California.

Same as what Cath said above. This is  scary. I would contact your State's Attorney General's office via online form to report this dangerous activity.

Robot female voice said something like, "This is AT&T, we recently had problems with our lines, and need to have you confirm your details.  Please enter your zip code..."  At that point, I hung up.  Obviously a phishing scam!

got an automated call from this number calming to be at&t. they wanted my zip code and the last four digits of my social security number. This is a scammer and not at&t.

They left a voicemessage for me. The voicemail said, "Please enter your zip code."  three times, with a beep after each time.  Then it said, "You have reached the maximum number of attempts, goodbye." I called back to find out who they are and I get a busy signal.

Received a call from this number. I answered and the automated message said it was from ATT and that there had been a security breach and I needed to enter my billing information. Hung up and am going to call ATT later to double check with them, but I'm fairly certain that it was just a scam to get my information.
