I received calls from this number repeatedly for like 2 months. I decided to play along too and told this do***ebag that my lawyer was present and to meet me at a specific location. He threatened me to pay a certain amount of money or they would show up at my work and arrest me. Yeah... good luck. I work at a secured science lab. Tool. I didn't get Ronnie Cooper- I got Johnny Miller. But with a foreign accent. Right.

They just called me - Ive been getting calls all week from what is known as "spoofed" phone numbers - they are a call center in India (I think Pune) and you are right - they are trying to scam you,
Here is what I have been doing:  I answer the phone but dont say anything and put it up to my computer where I play the following:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BVbyCZXc5s&feature=related

Hope this helps!

I had called the local police and I have been tracing the calls with my provider. In fact, they called when the police were here and the officer answered the phone as a police officer but they just hung up on him. n If they are in fact an indian call center there is NOTHING the US can do about it - and India just doesnt care enough - theyre still chasing the almighty US dollar

i have gotten maybe 10 calls from this number. then it switched to several different numbers. the latest was today from a 310 number. it is a prepaid cell phone out of cali. i called the only ronnie cooper attorney at law llc in the us. he is in alabama.the indian voice that callled me today was talking very vular to me about things to do to my female parts. the real ronnie cooper told me that they are scam artist and they can start by getting info off of facebook. my next step is the sec of state. they have to do something to ensure the safety of the people.

Same as above, my daughter recieved that call from Ronnie Cooper yesterday stating that the sheriff was coming to arrest her at her work tomorrow if she didn't immediately go to Walmart, but gift cards and call him back when she had them in hand. She was understandable upset and stressed (she's still pretty young and not prepared to deal with this type of situation.) I told her to call them back and tell them that she had gone and bought the gift cards like he told her to do.  When she called back another man answered the phone and when she asked for Ronnie, the guy that answered the phone asked her: You owe Ronnie money?  She said: Yeah and I need to speak with him. He got all excited and told her to open them up and turn them over, he wanted the numbers off the back and that she still had to write his company a letter telling them the reasons why she was a good woman...unbelievable!  A few minutes later she finally told them that she had called the police and that she had seen this website online and knew he was a scammer, he then got very agitated and ended up telling her to: "suck my d_ _k" you can well imagine...so of course with us having a few minutes on our hands we had to keep calling them back harrassing them and they eventually ended up cancelling that number when the tables were turned...it was kinda fun to harrass the harrassers :D so that is our advise, don't buy into what they are doing, no matter how alarming they make it sound and have some fun with them!

This man who called himself Jack Johnson called my moms cell, left message making it seem as if it was extremely important she called back. The guy, who speaks bad English wants her or her attorney to call him back. And if they didn't the only thing he can do for her is wish her good luck and May God bless her. He then called my mother at her work, and asked her if she was ready to be briefed. She said if this is a personal matter it can wait until she is not at work but would not say why he was calling. He even knew the last 4 numbers of her social security and her full name. And said he would contact her employer and garnish her wages, but wouldn't tell her why if she didnt agree to be briefed.

I then called the number trying to figure out who these ppl were. The first time I (They only answered w/Hello never the name of there organization) called and said the number was on my caller ID and I wanted to know the name of the organization. He then said he couldn't brief me at this time and hung up on me. This was the same man who left the msg on my moms machine. I called back a second time and a women answered, w/ an accent that sounded not of American. I said I wanted to know what agency she was w/. She said she cound't tell me unless I gave her my name. I asked repeatedly tell me who u r with. She said a Law firm. I asked to speak with her manager/supervisor. She said she was some kinda Attorney. After having to submit and give her a fake name is when she said the name of the Firm, which I forgot, and said that they specialize w/ something about the legislative sumtin sumtin loan.

THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM AND EVERYONE SHOULD DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO REPORT THESE GUYS BEFORE THEY HURT SOMEONE!

I recieved calls back to back tonight from an 810 number repeatedly tonight starting at 5:42pm my time, they finally reached me around 8:30pm after calling 8 times..........this dude said he was Senior Attorney Jason Dasey and the police was coming to my job tomorrow at 11am to lock me up for an online pay day loan that I had recieved and failed to repay. He said they was charging me with basically stealing money. He went on to tell me I had to fax him a notorized letter stating I would repay the money and starting when, and even asked for a credit/debit card number.  I gave him a number alright, a phoney card number. He had a thick Indian accent, and he gave me the following number to fax this letter to 858-435-7639 and 323-798-1733 Attention Senior Attorney Jason Dasey.  His direct contact line is 310-598-1755. Wow, the nerve of these dudes, and I was really concerned, he was talking about coming to my job to have me arrested and he knew all of my personal information.  I hung up on him a few times, and he kept calling back asking why I had hung up on him.  Wow!

I kept receiving voice messages from a gentleman that I could not understand,

he sounded like he was from India.  The phone number on my

cell phone caller I.D. is 810-676-161. I was told the number he

was calling me from was 415-691-4111 which tells you to leave a message

and then it says that the mailbox is full.

I was told he was calling me from the Department of Justice

and I was to be handed with a subpoena tomorrow at home or at work

and the cops would be there to take me to jail for check fraud

and that there was a warrant out for my arrest.

They had my Social Security number,my sister and my friends names,

my work name and home address and I really thought it to be legit,

so much so that I gave them my debit card information, but after reading

other stories online about this scam I called and cancelled my debit card

right away.

I was told I had 15 minutes to call back 1-415-578-3679 with $814.22

or I was going to jail.

I was then told I had to write a letter Attn:Senior Attorney Jason David

Daisey and underneath Dexter Frogg and have the letter certified and faxed

to 858-435-7639

The information below sounds very familiar and is what lead me to believe

this to be a scam plus I looked up and could not locate an Attorney by the

name of Jason David Daisey.

Thanks ( Margie - 8 Oct 2009 ) for writing this.

and now because they had asked me before I realized that this was a scam

they now have my mothers maiden name.

This same company called me today demanding money in 1 hr or at 1600 hours tomorrow I will be arrested. I comtacted the local FBI to ask them if they knew anything about this company. They informed me they were not aware of them and to not answer there calls and contact the local police department. This company has called 22 time from 5:00pm to 7:45pm. I gave them a few choice words and have not heard anything else. This company is good though they even have my social security number, email address work information and all.

I also received a call I couldn't understand the callers name or what he was calling about.  I kept saying I didn't understand, he then put me through to a Ben Johnson who said I had a court case tomorrow out of state for a loan I refused to pay.  He had all my personal information and wanted me to verify all of it to him; I refused until I could understand what he was calling about. He gave up on me and told me I will have my wages garnished if I didn't comply with verifying my personal information and gave me this phone number and his name then hung up on me.

This guy by the name of Jason Dasey called me around 10 times in a three hour period. Total scam although I was getting a little worried at first. I contacted my attorney and she said to ignore all calls from him. I also noted the thick Indian accent to her and she said that the payday loan companies will do anything to get their money because there is nothing in the legal system for that. IT IS A SIGNATURE LOAN. THE MOST THEY CAN DO IS GARNISH YOUR WAGES. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS PERSON OR ANYONE ELSE THAT DEMANDS MONEY OVER THE PHONE.

Follow up to my last post-
I had my wife call the number i called back and give a bogus name. After about %5 minutes of questioning and being on hold, Jenny Smith(who went by the name Crystal Davis when I was called) said she too owed money to this payday loan company shes never done business with. After going through the same stupid questions i was asked, my wife said she was recording the whole conversation and it would be forwarded to the FBI. The woman hung up. they call from a California landline and give a fax number in a completely different area code. Fax number is510-439-5600.SCAM!!!

SO DO IT

YES - YOU!

As with any other complaint - if you are not willing to file the formal complaints needed so the GOVERNMENT can do something, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT???

FROM THE INFO PREVIOUSLY POSTED!
If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)
