Do I need to post a screenshot of the 15 missed calls I have from this number or are you done with your argument that is not based of facts, but on the supposition that everyone else is stupid and you are very smart. Why did you even make it to this page? Are you a flunky that works for the people behind this number? Should I rely a story that mentions how sock puppets are areal thing on the internet?

I'm not going to back off of my earlier comments -- if you receive a single call and just post that someone called you, it is not particularly helpful to post that.

On the other hand, your report, assuming it is truthful, might have the sort of information in it that could actually allow someone to find out who is calling and what kind of action they might want to take.  That's the difference between a simple "got a call from this number" report and a report like yours.

I'll leave you with a little story about wrong numbers I used to get.

At one number at an office at which I worked, my telephone number was apparently off by just one in a single digit from that of the county jail.  I used to get calls all the time from people wanting to know when their arraignment date was, how to pay bail for someone, or what the schedule was for the day and who was on duty.  A lot of the calls came from relatives of people who were arrested, but many came from local police departments.  And there were a *lot* of people dialing my number.  Even putting a message on my voice mail telling people that I am not affiliated in any way with the county jail and telling them to dial the correct number didn't work -- they STILL left messages for the county jail.

It was a nuisance, but I learned how to live with it, and how to take care of callers who are extremely persistent.  For example, whenever a caller refused to believe that he or she wasn't speaking to the county jail or was too dumb to understand, I said, "You are correct.  I'll get someone to help you."  Then I would put the call on hold for ten or twenty minutes or until they hung up.  I had to do that because I would otherwise find myself wasting somewhere between ten minutes and an hour of my day taking care of these calls.  Perhaps when they tried calling back, they would dial the correct number.

I found that, over time, the volume of wrong numbers was reduced from several calls per day to only a few per week, with some days being completely free of them.

Should I have reported anyone and everyone who called me and did not leave a message for me to 800notes.com?  Of course not.  What purpose could that possibly serve?

Telemarketer
Well, A. Nonie Mouse, it may be time to back off just a little.  We received our call today from Rescom Energy from this number and it would seem that they are anything but an innocent mis-dial.  This is flat-out a telemarketing call to PECO, etc. customers being offered as a "service" to lower their electric bills.  When asked if we had any [rior business relationship the caller clearly said "No" and then launched further into their script.  When asked if they were told or trained to check "Do Not Call" registries he said "No" again and started the script again.  When told that we register DNC complaints to all such calls just 'cause he did stumble for a second but then launched back into their script.

Sorry. but this is a flat-out telemarketing call that flat-out flaunts their ignorance of the Do Not Call rules.

One other thing -- Skip said he didn't answer the phone and the caller did not leave a message.  In that case, how would Skip know that this number was one of the "robo calls" he is complaining about rather than just a random misdial?  Once again, the post is not helpful as it was written -- nobody is left with any information about this number other than unwarranted assumptions.

If you read Skip's post carefully, the only antecedent basis for "these nuisance calls" is the ONE call Skip received from this number.  There's nothing in Skip's post saying that *this* number called more than once.

A proper reading and parsing of Skip's post is that Skip might very well be getting a lot of nuisance calls, but not necessarily from THIS number.  In fact, by googling this number, I found very few complaints against it, and those that I did find just referred to the listing on THIS blog -- and no others.  That tends to suggest the call was, in fact, an innocent misdial.

Innocent misdials occur all the time and should not be a cause for panic, although most of the time, people who misdial numbers ought to be courteous enough to at least admit their mistake and apologize to the person they bothered.  See:

http://news.yahoo.com/sorry-wrong-number-isnt ... -050206158.html

See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misdialed_call

One-off wrong numbers are a fact of life caused by the fact that people are not perfect. (Have *you* never, ever misdialed a number?  Come on, be truthful!) If all someone has to say about a number is that they received a call from it, they are not really being very helpful.

Now, if Skip can report being dialed repeatedly from that number or that the caller actually said something that didn't sound proper or legal, that would be a very different matter.

A. Nonie Mouse, Skip was referring to not just this call, but many calls, "stop these nuisance calls."  The key word is "these."   Maybe a course in advanced English may help you with critical reading.

Called me as well: 215-383-3383.  I called back from a different number and it was Rescom Energy.

Oh, oh!  Wrong number alert!  Call the Feds!  Complain to Obama!  Have them arrested!

Seriously, is there any evidence yet to suggest that this is anything other than someone with fat fingers dialing a wrong number?

Got a call from this number yesterday.2/16/13. Didn't answer, just shows Philadelphia  and no message left. What good is being on the NO CALL LIST if nothing is done to stop these nusiance calls. I screen all my calls now because of these robo calls.
