Folks,

This is how you get back at those scammers:

Call their toll-free number (1-866... or 1-888... or 1-800...) from a PUBLIC PHONE booth.

Why? Because everytime they take such a call, they have to pay at least $0.50 to the phone company of the public phone booth! Also, it will make them stop if it
starts to cost themtoo much.

Please do the same, because this is what you get out of it: they pay you to hear your complaints! The more you call, the more they have to pay!

The number they gave me was 1-888-336-3169 - and I called this number today at least 20-30 times... That costs them at least $10 to $15 - and probably much more, because the $0.50 that these scammers have to pay for each call is the minimum amount. It can be as high as $0.75 per call.

Received the same text as everyone else. When I call the 201-988-8882 number, it's a Verizon wireless number and the person is not available so I can't leave a message. I get the same recorded message as everyone else when I call the 888 number. Maybe if we all flood the 888 number with voice messages showing our displeasure with receiving unsolicited text messages, they will stop this illegal practice. Note my cell number is on the Do Not Call list and I have filed a complaint there, also!

They are still at it.  I got a text message to my cell yesterday.  This is against the law.  I hope the FCC finds a way to bring them down.

what i'm wondering is...why is everyone getting lower rates than i am?

5.29% APR FHA Fixed Rate Mortgage
3.25% APR Equity Line

hmm...

anywho...i'm on the DNC List and have been on it for quite some time.  if this happens again, i'll follow up with the FCC.

best of luck to you all.

Also getting the same text message from this company.  I called the number on the caller ID and got a recording message saying "The mailbox of "Dick Breast C*cks*cker" is full."
Excellent business practice.

I have the same approval code as you.  I bet that is the unique identifier, so this spammer can get his payment for people that call the 888 number.

I also filed a complaint with the FCC. 08-T00284326

A Whitepages reverse Lookup states it is an AT&T land line somewhere in Philly.

I think I might call Verizon about it as well.  Not sure what they will do though.

Update to my earlier posting:
You can complain to the FCC at esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.
They have a complaint form online to fill out and they will investigate. Hope this works!

My text messages were the same as above-approved for a mortgage. I've received several texts this month, the first one I deleted, the second one I replied to (texted)and told them to remove my number. The third one I called the number that they texted from and heard a recorded message that the box was full and could not receive any  more messages. So then I called the number to the mortgage approval hotline to try to get a real person to complain to (1-888-532-0177) and got another recording that all the representatives were busy. I did leave a message there telling them that I'm on the do not call list and don't want any more texts, calls, etc. They have also been texting my husband's phone. His is on the do not call list too. I'm going to file a complaint with the FTC/FCC and see if that does anything.

These b*****ds have cost me $3.00 in text message fees with AT&T. I am not sure why our government cant protect us from these b*****ds may be it is time to empower ourselves with the law.

If anyone has a physical address and name for these people please post here

Costly nuissance! It costs me 25-cents for every text message because I do NOT text and do NOT pay a monthly rate.  SOBs should be fined for this practice.  Bottom of message says: All State Mortgage Lender (888) 532-0177.

Text Message Received:  "You're approved!  5.49% FHA Fixed Rate Mortgage! 4.0% Equity Line of Credit!  Call All State Mortgage Lender NOW 1-888-532-0177 Approval Code 47806 ***  We are on the DO NOT CALL list.  And we are not shopping for a mortgage.  Totally unsolicited!  I might call just to give them heck!Caller ID: 12154852374
