I work at a non-profit and my client received a phone call from this number saying that he owed backtaxes and if he didn't pay he would get arrested. My client doesn't owe any taxes. I reported this scam to the FTC - you should do the same!

Got a call from this number this evening by Brian Anderson. Telling me that they have a legal matter against me and I should call back immediately. The company name identified on caller id is "STARNET"

I got a call from this number (215-693-5493) in a thick accent stating he is James Jordan officer, he left a message saying - They are from the State Investigation Department with case file against me and my identify. If I don't call back immediately, they will arrest me.

I called back and the man who answered is the man who left the message with heavy accent, he told me there is a criminal case against me and told me to hold on and do not hang the telephone and he put me on hold while I was holding the telephone, my husband checked the number in the internet and found several message about this scam.

So I hung up and immediately they called me back, I told them, they are scam; I am going to report to police. They hung up. I called them back and told them that they are scam artist and I am going to report to police. The guy with thick Indian accent use lots of F??..words and told me to go back to my country and he hung up.

An Officer jason Smith is calling me stating that I have 3 charges against my social security, if i do not call and take care of this matter, he will have to start legal proceddings aqainst me. I do Not have anything on my ssn. This is a scam, and I reported to my local poice dept

We got a similar call too. Someone should let the authorities know. They've been haunting us.

I got the call, the usual Indian accent and European name claiming "we have an arrest warrant for you, blah blah blah" I was busy and just hung. I mentioned the call to my wife over lunch. She decided to have some fun with him.

The scammer called back 2 hours later. That time my wife answered. He asked for me. She asked "Are you the person who called him a little bit ago?" He said that he did. She then proceeded to tell him that she was with the medical examiner's office, the person he had called had a fatal heart attack due to the stress of the call and she needed his information so the police could talk to him for their death investigation. He hung up real fast!

we called Irs, they said there was nothing going on. Theseguys needs to be arrested

I reported this guy to my local precinct. The officer called the number and hopefully these guys will be arrested within the week.

I got a similar message on my answering machine, except, he mentioned two names. He was Sebastin Brown at the beginning of the message and became Max Wilson towards the end !
The accent was very suspicious....said he was from the State Investigation Department.

Just got a call from these guys - 2158091477, Officer Jason Smith of Criminal Investigations in Philadelphia, PA with case file against me and my identity.  When I questioned him for details and said they were a scam, he said he'd get police to show up at my house, pull me out and put me in jail.  I hung up and called my local police who came by and took down a report to file against them.

Just curse them in their native language , they will stop calling.That is the only language these people understand.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Got a message from Officer John Smith but decided to google and now I know its scam.  The only reason a red flag came up was because of the thick accent

said he was some officeir and threatening to arrest me. These people need to be stop!!!!!

He called me and said I had three charges against my name. At first I thought it was real until he offered to let me pay over the phone. Then I told him that I never recieved any money from a payday loan. At that point he said, "You know what, you're gonna get arrested. I'm going to arrest you and your business of work. You're going to lose your job." Then I asked if he could tell me the date that I recieved the money so I could check my account(because iwas kind of afraid that he might be telling the truth), then he hung up on me. I just want to know, will he or has he really called anyone's job and tried to get them fired? I have a job that require a clearance and I could lose my clearance if something like this escalated.

I am sure they get ballistic and fill up their diapers when you ask them to tell the truth.

Voicemail on my land line from Starnet... same number as above. Was told that I have 3 federal criminal cases against me for some tax issue. Already knew that it is a scam ... Tax violations or frauds are civil charges not criminal . Anyway my wife got worried about this call and I ended up calling this "officer Mike Johnson" got transferred to another guy. Both of them southeast Asian by accent. Listened to him patiently for 10 min for fun and then I started hulking abuses at him in his native language. The guy got pissed of and hung up saying that he will get me arrested etc etc....these scumbags are busy receiving calls from the noise in the background.
Don't give them any info from your end.
I am planning to call them again just for fun.... the guy gets ballistic if you ask him question..... I could not help laughing out loud and that will make him more mad .......:

the same b*****d ..this wilson guy called me up . We have reported the scam to the Police dept with the phone # too. Not sure how can these b*****ds be punished for this crime.

This guy called me twice and I called him back. The phone calls got transferd many times, and looks like the same person once again talked to me. He was the Senior investigation officer, and I asked him to send me a notice and I will responds. He was mocking saying 'which notice, which letter'.. This was ridiculous.
