These are probably market research companies. I hope everyone on this site goes to the police, the FEds, and everyone to try and report these companies, only to get laughed at in the end. These companies are not trying to steal your information for any reason whatsoever. The DO NOT CALL Laws do not apply to market research companies, such as Wilkins Research Services, because this company is not a telemarketing company and they are not trying to sell you anything. They only want your opionions to help improve the quality of products and services. You people really shouldn't take it so seriously. But if you don't want any more of these calls from companies like this, just ask that they put you on their do not call list specific to that company and I can promise from personal experience that you won't get any more calls from them. And something else, would you want someone talking to your daughter, mother, father, and any other loved ones the way you talk to some of these people that call from these research companies. Rule of thumb: Treat people the way you would want to be treated and the way you would want your loved ones to be treated. All you have to do is say just put me on your do not call list and that's it.

That was a market research company that called you. They were conducting a survey. Listen, the reason they only asked your favorite radio station was because you did not qualify for the survey, and when that happens, we are required by company policy to ask you that question. There's really nothing strange about it. We can't help it if you don't qualify. Its not our fault. Yes. We use a random dialer. We do not call the numbers ourselves. We are connected to a computer and headset. That's it. So please when you or anyone else answers these calls, just be respectful, and if you don't want to talk to us, just request that we put you on our do not call list. Its as simple as that. There really is no need to get rude or disrespectfu
We are not trying to harrass. This is our job and we are just trying to make a living like you and everyone else in the world. And for everyone who is wondering about THE DO NOT CALL LAWS. Please let me explain something to you. Those laws don't apply to us because we are not telemarketers and are not trying to sell you anything. These laws can be frustrating, I know. But before you start yelling at us, read the fine prinmt and everything under the DO NOT CALL LIST LAWS, It will state this I promise you. We are a market research companies, and those laws don't apply to us. I don't why. They just don't. Maybe this will enlighten everybody or at least to them to read.

I keep getting a call from a number from Saskachawan and when I called back it was either busy or said that it was not in service!

It is a valid research company and I'm going on Thursday , for a study and they are paying me 175$ . I have done this before, but for a different company. It's really not a bad deal they feed you breakfasts and lunch and put u in a drawing if u are half hour early , for another 50$.Don't knock it till u try it ...

I've also been getting multiple calls per day from this number and when I tried calling it back it says that this number is not in service. The caller ID says Pennsylvania.

Calls almost everyday, multiple times. I will not answer such calls due to scams. Comes up as National Mktg. I want them to stop, because if they were legit, they would not be calling multiple time a day and for so long.

Got a call this evening so I ended up at this site.  Never answer a number you don't recognize.  What scares me most about some of your rants are the ones who said they called the number to see who answers.  There are people who have their numbers set up that charge you when you call them.  That may be why you dummies who called them could not disconnect. If they only charged you one dollar, you would never notice it on your bill as convoluted as the phone companies makes them. They don't even have to have some chick with a sexy voice to screw you out of your money.  LOL

The same as pretty much everyone described.  The caller ID would say PHLDPHZN4 PA.  Called twice and left no message.  Also, I am on the do not call list.

Evidently we're lucky that they've called us only once!

Well, they called again, I didn't pick up, but have their p# on my caller ID... it's only been 13 days since I rec'd a call from then and then I found out who they were, called them, and told them to put our number on the Do Not Disturb (DND)  list.  At what point can I report them to the FCC?  Is that who I contact?  Do they have a grace period, like 30 days, to make the DND effective?

Am in Toronto. Area code is Philadelphia?? Wilkins research asking if I would do a radio listening survey. Told them I don't do surveys and to put me on their DNC list.

I got a call from this number.Did not say anything till he spoke.
He said his name was william and he was conducting a study in radio listening research .
I said no not interested in hung up .I have rogers so this number is now on my do not call me list

Just received a call from this number.  He asked i he could clarify some responses about a childrens hospital survey I had completed.  I told him I never did the survey. Wrong number and hung up.  I've received several unlisted "private name - private number" calls as well and have picked up - said hello several times - and then there's a hang up.  All of these calls have happened during different times and different days of the week.

Ontario,Canada    August 2--At 7.02p.m. call on my voice mail,  .couldn't make out the message even tho it was in English ,line very noisy,a girl's voice.Called the number"no such number "report.Later,at 7.49 p got one from 1 200 982 3420..same thing

Thank you whoever figured out it was Wilkins Research and provided their actual phone number 423-894-9478!!!!!  We also received a call from 215-743-5912 and they left no msg.  We called the number back it was "disconnected."  We googled the number and found this website and read the post providing the company calling and their phone number.  When we called 423-894-9478, they answered "Wilkins Research" and we told them to put our number on the "Do Not Call List".  They said no problem and said they were sorry to disturb us.  I'll let you know if they still call back.  I found their website too - http://www.wilkinsresearch.net/

They have called here several times. My wife answered tonight and the person barely spoke English. Wfe told them we were unlisted and on the DNC list, the person told her "that don't matter". Wife hung up.

After doing some research the person was correct Wilkins Research does surveys. They are exempt from the do not call list.

Wilkins is based out of Chattanooga TN but the call was coming from a PA exchange.

Think I am going to get a little air horn to sit next to the phone.

Give them the call-signals for your local CBC Radio (in Canada) or NPR (National Public Radio in the USA) stations, which do _NOT_ accept advertising.
