why do they call and leave no message?

They called and hung up on me. They called on 5/6/13 at about 5:30pm.

I got a call from this number, I told the number to my mom & dad. My dad ran in & said do NOT answer! He told me they were frauds. They will steal all of your info, they'll take over your phone too! Please do not answer I don't want anyone to get hurt, so I hope they get this all fixed. If this number calls you get it blocked right away! Or they'll keep calling you. Thanks! :-)

I received a call from the same number. He asked to verify my personal information! I said I am a Chinese with very poor English, he hanged up on me.

He called me today (5/6) at 10:03am saying that he need me to confirm my info that I submitted online for a job (he spoke too quickly to get a company name). I asked him what he needed. He said, name, DOB to start. So then I screamed at him not to call me again and he can p****off. He called me once before (back on3/27 at 7:14pm) but I didn't answer and he didn't leave a message. It's best if you don't answer, if you do, don't give him any info. Be safe!

Apparently this isn't the only forum for these calls, but they are coming from other numbers. I'm afraid they keep changing it as it seems this has been going on for some time. Definitely be aware, and don't give any info...

I received a call from 215-940-9698 and didn't answer, but swiftly came here! I can usually find good answers on this forum. The caller didn't leave a voice-mail...
After reading all of the comments, I was prompted to search "WN Positions" (which was the name of the calling company, as per Kathy's comment). I thought it was interesting that the first link on google's search for "WN Positions" brings you to a site for a company called "World Neighborhood". They have a pop-up window that open as soon as you arrive at their site that explicitly apologize to anyone having received robo-calls from "WN Positions". They claim to have no affiliation and that they are seeking legal action against them.

They just called seemed pissed off when I asked him what was this in refrance too & how did he get my number once I didn't give up info he hung up !

I got the call several times on my cell phone. If I answer, I hear nobody on the other end. Comes up VOXBONE SA. I am on the do not call list. I am tired of these phone calls. I wish they would stop.
I have read that they are after your personal information. Do they think I'm stupid?

I've been getting calls daily on my cell phone offering me "educational" info that I requested online. I never requested anything.

Got a call from this #. Only rang once and they hung up before I could answer the phone. Good thing I searched the number before I called back.

Just missed a call from this # on my new cell. My # has only been active a couple days. Entries on another site say this is someone claiming to be following up about a job survey and trying to verify information such as date of birth. Sounds like a scam to me.

Just missed a call from this # 215-940-9698 on my new cell phone. They hung up before I'd picked up. I also recently applied for jobs online and in person, and was hoping it was one of them. From what I see here, it wasn't a legit call. Perhaps they are notified electronically when someone is inquiring about jobs. Also, my cell phone # has only been active a couple days.

Got A call - after a few Hellos - A male voice tells me he is calling about a job - That I filled out a online survey and indicated I was interested in a job....
Never filed out any survey - and I am not looking for a job!!!! - (They guy was "surprised" he had it right there in front of him - my survey - on his "computer"

Just called here...did apply for jobs online so was hoping it was a call back but now I won't bother. They let it ring 3 times...no voicemail.

OK, I found out WHY they hang up, they are simply trying to determining the times during the day when the phone is actually being answered and then they sell that info to telemarketers so they know when you're home.  I am on the State and National "Do Not Call: List so I shouldn't be getting these calls but I am, I went to the FCC (http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls) and filed a complaint.  The only way to stop this absolute crap is to be proactive and report, report, report!

Got a call from them let, it ring, didn't answer it but my question is has anyone determined or has a guess as to why they are calling only to hang up? Also I am on the National & State "do not call" list shouldn't I that protected from these types of unsolicited calls?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I just got a call too.  The guy called from a Philadelphia area and I live in Florida.... He said he was calling about a survey I filled out, I told him I didn't fill one out, he completely ignored that and said, "well anyway, my job is to verify your information for jobs...." ugh, no thanks tool.

They just called me and something told me to go to my "trusty" internet.  I said hello and they hung up!! DO NOT ANSWER THIS # (215) 940-9698

I normally don't answer unknown numbers, but this looked like it was from someone in my area so I took the call. Woke me up from a nap, and even then I could see right through this scam. A confident young man wanting to confirm my personal details concerning a job I applied for online, when I did no such thing? Move along!!

Got a call from this number a couple hours ago, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message. Only thing diff about this from the other mystery calls I get occasionally is this is from my local area.

I got a call this morning saying this was a job placement center and would just like to verify my information and asked a bunch of personal questions that I refused to answer and I hung up.

Telemarketer calling

Looks like they are fishing for call backs. I said hello there was no response. I never call back, I alway google any unknown number, and normally find a forum that has info about the bo-gus-ness of the caller.

Tried phoning me today.  I never answer unfamiliar's anymore.  This is why.  If they can't leave message, I can't be bothered.  From frequency of the posts against them, sounds like they're plenty busy seeking someone to scam.

Guy told me I completed a survey, asked me some questions, miracle of miracles I QUALIFIED!!!  After asking me to spell my first name I hung up.  What a d-bag!
