They keep calling and hanging up after I answer. Told them to stop calling but to no avail.

I have been getting calls all morning.  I answer and get the beeping noise like someone is trying to fax. Really annoying!!!

Have you stopped and thought that some of these hang up calls are going to the parents of children with cancer? Or to the man who lost his leg?? Or how about the people who are expecting an important call, but its only your former employer calling just to hang up on them. Now who's the crybaby??

While the problems you mention certainly are serious, people do have a right to be upset
when their privacy is being invaded by these nuisance calls.   Not sure how "honest" a living it is to be calling people who are on the DNC list, and repeatedly hanging up on them at that.

I used to work at this place. They use a automatic dialer (sales dept).The salesperson doesnt choose your phone number. The sales person is just trying to make a honest living.  I am surprisded that people get this upset about phone hangups. Perhaps you have no real problems to dwell on...must be nice. There are people out there whose children who have cancer, or  men coming home from Afghanistan with a  missing leg and you people are in here crying about hang ups calls. I have a contact list called Ignore, I assigned a ring tone that is silent. So when they call, I never hear it ring.... I used to be an ASI member... all i got was a monthly bill and a lot of junk mail..

JERK called my business and hung up on me. That is the last time I answer this number.  Nothing but the number on Caller I.D.

They call and hang up. I posted a complaint about this on the DO NOT CALL registry. I'm sure they will stop them calling out other people. I believe these kind of people should be in prison not in public because they have no good intention towards us.

These calls are from the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) which is a company the coordinated the manufactures or advertising speciality items with distributors.  These calls normally follow you receiving email and then requesting to be removed from their email list.

Think the problem here is that calls are generated by computer which answers first call to be picked up. Salesman or equivalent then takes the computer-completed call to the unfortunate person who picked up first.
Suggestions:
Don't take it personally.
Be thankful you aren't being harangued by a salesman determined to sell you something you don't want or who is proposing a scam that could cost you lot of money.
Get caller i.d. These calls usually come from "unknown"
Let the phone ring. If it's someone who really wants to talk to you, she/he will leave a message or let the phone ring more than four times.
Report the number to one of the Dont Call services.

Why do they call and then hang up????? When I answer no one is there. Don't they have to comply with the 'Do Not Call' registry?

My previous posts Round 2 and Complaint Filed. STILL getting calls from 215-953-4000. As soon as I submit this I'm filing another complaint w/FTC. Urge all to do the same and keep filing them. What's the adage about the only thing they understand is money? Perhaps when they're paying fines they'll get the hint.

It looks like they are getting emails and phone numbers from domain name registrations. I've gotten calls from this number, and just started getting emails from ASI to an address I only use for my website registration. Make sure to report them.

Duh! I should have filed complaint following March call. Here it is August and I'm STILL getting calls from ASI. But..following last 2 calls (on 8/8 and 8/15) - I DID file complaint. It's a quick, easy process and I encourage everyone who's recipient of these calls to submit a complaint.

received a call from this number today, i have no idea who's number this is but i don't want any calls from them.

What's point of DNC registry if these companies persist in these calls?? (I have a sleep disorder, call always happens right after I get to sleep.) I'm definitely reporting. Annoys me to have to waste my time on this kind of thing.  More annoying is paying for caller ID and the phone companies claiming they can't stop these calls.

Same as above.  I have gotten 3 calls from them.. one said wrong number and the others there was no one there.  Don't you all have better things to do than harass people?  Maybe you need to get a life.

I get a call from this number multiple times a day.  When I answer it hangs up.  I don't even get a chance to speak to anyone about why they are calling or given the option to be removed from their call list.  I simply pick up the receiver and hang up when I see the caller ID now.  But even that takes time away from the task at hand.  If the only thing I have to worry about is this annoy inconvenience then I guess I'm missing the bigger picture... which would be... the joys of having a job in today's economical crisis!

This is a promotional products company called ASI.  They call over and over and over and then hang up as soon as I pick up the call.  They were also brutally spamming my email account at about 20 per day telling me about their trade shows.  I have no relationship with their company and I have no idea how they got my information.  They are the worst kind of scum... they don't even try to sell anything on the phone... just hang up calls over and over.  I hate this company with a passion.

Isn't that 'telemarketing?'  And against the DO NOT CALL law?? Geez, caller ID (at my expense); phones to display caller ID (at my expense); call reject (another consumer expense); register with Do NOt Call Registry  - and we STILL can't stop these calls!

Yep ASI. I called the number and selected #7 from the menu. A polite gentleman answered and I told him I was on the do not call list and wanted to know why I was receiving calls from them. He explained why and then asked if I wanted to be removed. I gave him my number and he said they would remove it. Simple fix.
