Returned the call from caller ID (they didn't leave a message), but gave up after being on hold for 30 minutes.

These people called my parents home, where I haven't lived for three years. At first they didn't even say who it was, just tried to give them a number for me to call back. Finally said it was the Philadelphia Fire Department. No reason was left for the call. I called the number and was told it was the EMS billing callback number for the Philadelphia Fire Department. They said they couldn't help me unless I had an account number. The woman also said they had no way of looking me up in their system (phone number, etc.) and that I would need to wait to be called back by the billing company and ask for an account number. The woman was curt and unhelpful. Seeing as I've only spent a couple days in Philadelphia in my entire life (the most recent being in 1998), I'm certain I'm receiving the calls in error. Too bad I can't do anything about it until they decide to call back, again in error.

FILE A COMPLAINT ONLINE WITH THE BBB AND FTC - MAYBE IF THEY GET ENOUGH - THE CALLS WILL STOP - THEY CALL ME 2-3 DAYS A WEEK-SEVERAL TIMES EACH DAY. I CALLED THEM BACK AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO STOP THE CALLS EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE WRONG NUMBER.....MAYBE INTERVETION BETWEEN THE TWO BUREAUS WILL HELP THEM FIND A WAY TO STOP CALLING MY HOME FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

Phone rings no one on phone  calls once or twice  a day

Continually get calls from 215-272-8300.  If I answer, there's nobody on the line....just open air space.  Although they call frequently, they NEVER leave a message.  I'm on the PA & National Do Not Call List and I want them to STOP CALLING MY HOME!!!!!

I rec'd a message on my answering machine by the City of Philadelphia Fire Dept. EMS Billing Dept  I ret'd the call to 215-272-8300 and told them I had never been in their city and had no idea why I would receive a call from them.  She said it must have been in error and disregard the call.  I can understand having a wrong number, but they had my full name.  I'm concerned as I live 1100 miles from Philly. I am also on the Nat'l No Call List!

I find this explanation hard to believe since I've had this # for 11 years and never lived in PA or used services there.

I filed a complaint with the FTC.  I then called Verizon and they have blocked the phone number.  should solve the problem

Same exact problem as you all. Called 877-382-4357 which is the unauthorized phone calls reporting number for the FTC.  You can also www.ftc.gov to file a compliant.  If we all do it, perhaps these a$$--- will leave us alone.  FTc advised that I call phone provider and see if they will block the number which I am going to do.

I get these calls twice a week, normally Tuesdays and Fridays, around 9:30am.  I had my home phone forwarded to my cell a couple weeks ago because I wanted to catch the call, but I was driving and missed it.  I called back around 10 minutes later.  The woman who answered the phone said it was a collection call from the fire dept., and unless I have a case number, she couldn't put the call thru because the collectors are in another building.  If they would leave a message, I would have a case number, and this would be resolved.  If it's for a rescue call, my husband died over 5 years ago, and they are calling a little late.

I just got the same call.  When I returned the call the operator asked if I had received an ambulance service.  Didn't ask for my telephone number to check her records or anything.  When I respoded "no" she simply said disregard the call.

I returned the phone call and got a lady from Phila. Fire Dept. records who said they were looking to collect for a energency 911 transport call they received in early 2000. I told them once I left Phila. in 1993 I never returned for any reason. The lady ( Anita ) told me to disregard the call.

This is "Department of Records" in PA.
