I work at a body shop and this Elvis Van guy called and said that his mother got in a car accident in NY which is odd because my shop is in MN.  i knew at that point this was a scam and i played along for awhile and called the cre3dit card number in to the card co. so the poor sap that owns the card can be relieved of any charges.  and now i am trying to keep the email streem going.  I really hate people like this.

Can never understand caller.  Calls are coming late at night.

i got a call just moments ago and i did what most ppl i read have done... i googled it... it rang twice and so i looked up the area code and said cleveland... which was strange to me bc i dont know ne 1 there.. so therefore i typed the whole number in the serach engine and found this site... what exactly is this and shud i be alarmed?? how wud some1 get my number for this purpose?? u havent placed ne ads...

I know this isnt about the calling, but that comment about something inappropiate over head by "some guy", I advise you people to report as abuse if you haven't done so allready. That was totally inapropaiate here.

I got a call from this number yesterday on my cell phone, i answered it and said hello. there was no answer. so i said hello again and they said hey sexy and i said who is this? and they said this is paul..and i said oh yeah? (paul is my boyfriend's name) and then they were like can i come over tonight..and then i said alright cya. and hung up. it was weird....

I got a call from this number at 1:03 this morning and because of my job I tried to see if it was anyone that I work with and didn't have the new number... I got a message saying that the number didn't go through and to try it again later.....

I missed a call from this number the other night and I have been trying to call it back incessantly, but it makes sense now. Everytime I call my phone will not connect or go through.

We are a printing company and the caller asked (thru a relay operator) if we printed flyers and took credit cards. I didn't catch his supposed name but it was Reverand something. As I was answering questions, I became suspicious and Googled the number. When I came to this site, I instructed the operator that I was terminating the conversation.

I got a call from this number.  I didnt answer it because I was busy doing something.  They didnt leave a message or anything.  I tried calling back it was busy.

I work for an electric company in the Midwest. The numbers to each of our desks are non-published numbers, yet this afternoon right before 12:00 pm I received a call from this number.  I had just got to my desk and missed the call by one ring.  I checked the message, and heard the most bizzare thing! It was my voice, or my message rather, to alert callers I was away from my desk. The bizzare thing was it was slowed down, so I sounded, well, drunk for lack of a better description. And, it would stop and start playing the message over..."This is Fatima with (electric company). I'm currently away...." and it would stop, start up at a different spot, and continued like this for about 30 seconds.

I just got a call from it.  I didn't answer or call back.  Considering the posts here, it seems like I'm not alone.

THE CALLER IS A SCAM ARTIST FROM A CLASSIFIED AD

I got a relay call from this number too. He said his name was Elvis (weird)and that he was interested in buying a puppy i had for sale. He said to email him the "final cost". He gave me the email "elvisvan07@hotmail.com". I tried to email him back, but the email is a fake (thank goodness). a little suspicious, i Googled the number and found this site (and many others).

I also place an ad for puppies in a newpaper and got a call from this number and 408-822-1645.  The 408 number was a relay call.  I communicated with this guy through email benkim19@yahoo.com He told he would send me 4 money orders in the amount of 850.00 each, and take them to my bank immeditaly and cash them and keep the 300.00 and then wire the 3100.00 Western Union to a place in the West Indes.  I contacted USPS and the money orders were fake.

Everything that has been said is the same for me,
except it was about a boy named eero,
who new everything about me
and I think it was eero or something,
maybe a joke, a cam,
but the person new me, obviously
and there was nothing about puppies and whatnot

I got a call too and it knew a nickname that only some people call me.  Is it a program that people use to call through the computer.  thats what it said to me.  Its weird.

Called while i was at work

Was a scam about a puppy that i had advertised.  I reported to internet fraud after recieving an email wanting info to send checks.  my advise is to report the number to feds and let  them deal with it.  It has to be stopped sooner or later

I got a call from this #. It was about some internet hooking up thing . With like real people or something and the guy is like talk slower and in third person im like whatever.

i just got a call from this number too...at 1 in the morning. i ignored the first one, but answered the second one, and it wished me a happy birthday, said that my safety was compromised, and that this person and my little brother planted a deadly toxin in my birthday cake. thanks for the birthday wishes..?

Received call from 216-416-0033 yesterday.  She was an IP Relay operator and from reading the other posts here, I wonder if it has to do with placing ads in newspapers?  We had an ad in but I didn't let the operator get beyond explaining how this system works and informed her that I wish NOT to receive such a call.  I then hung up.  Any way we can report this problem?  I'm suppose to be on the do-not-call list but apparently placing an ad in a newspaper only gives the freaks out there more ammunition.

This website was created in order to allow the deaf and other handicaps make phone calls. It uses an operator to call and relay the message while the person types online.
The website was created to help, however many scams, as said here, are conducted. From articles I have read online, the major scam is dealing with credit card fraud because there is no way to trace the caller.
It is a shame that a site that could be so valuable for those in need is being abused.
