Got a call on my cell phone from 052-608-289 on my caller ID, a guy with Indian Accent.  He wants to know my Attorneys name because I was being sued.  He would not tell me by who or why. I tried to get info from him to no avail.  Said his name was Frank w/ a law firm "Anderson" in the name.  He either hung up or we got disconnected.  Then he called back, I refused the call, then I got a Text from 600-500-0015, telling me to call 218-499-9041 ASAP

I received a call today, 10/29/10 with a phone number of 052608289. The person that left me a voice mail, which had an Indian Accent said to call 218-499-9041. I called the number, and the lady I spoke to, her name is Christine Brown. She said I was being sued for a cash advance in the amount of $350.00 that was deposited to my account in July or August. When I reviewed my bank statements, there was nothing for $350.00 that was deposited or even withdrawn.

Is this a scam??

Got a call from 218-499-9041 a guy with Indian Accent.  He wants to know my Attorneys name because I was being sued.  Said his name was Justin White an Attorney with Andreson Law Firm out of LA, California 91165.But he refused to give me any information on what I am being suided for.

I just got two calls in a row from 218-499-9041 on my cell phone which I did not answer.  An old co-worker of mine (I have moved offices recently) called a few minutes later stating that she got a call from a "Peter" that told her there was a lawsuit against me and my social security number and to call this same number back.  I tried to call several times and there was only a recording with a thick Indian accent saying "Please try again later".  I then got a call from 052608289 and a guy with a thick accent (didn't catch his name) told me that he was calling from a law office and there was a class action lawsuit against me and my social security number.  I asked him who he was calling with and what "attorney" he represented and he told me that I should be aware since I was being sued.  He then asked me for my info to verify he had the right person.  I told him there was no way I was giving him info if he wouldn't tell me what this was about.  He then started yelling and told me that they would be at my place of work to serve me tomorrow and hung up.

I dont know if there is any truth in what I was told, but i received a call from this number many times starting on 10/29/10, and they had a heavy accent and told me that i was being sued for a default on a payday loan.  Like another post they read an affidavit and so on,  well after not understanding why they kept calling back after i said send the summons i'll be waiting tomorrow, i filed a complaint with the FTC and they called me today and started their message again, so this time i told them that I contacted the FTC and made a complaint.  As soon as I said this the guy on phone said "please, please don't call the police, please please, i am only 12 years old"  I said excuse me you said how old are you, (heavy accent) he repeated 12 years old.  So because I am a mother, i told him i can not do anything about the complaint I already filed but if i receive one more phone call from your operation i will call the police.  He said thank you thank you.. He claims to be 12 and his parents make him do this to earn poket money.  So with that i think it is disgusting if true and he was very sympathetic about the whole deal.  So this is definetly a SCAM!!!  So even if the kid was in fact a kid, it is not a true lawsuit and tell them to stop calling or you will call the police and file a complaint with the FTC.  What else didn't make sense to me is on my phone when dialing out, the number matches in Maine, but they are taking you to court in California...  Fishy!!  a SCAM... don't be fooled just do what i said abut police and FTC and they will stiop

I recieved two phone calls back to back this morning with the 2184999041 number. I picked up the second call. A women with a thick Indian accent was on the other line trying to tell me that I was being sued but wouldn't tell me the amount or when this mysterious money was put into my account. I checked my back and even the branch manager called to tell them it was never put into my account. The caller then got very upset and said expect to get summonsed tomorrow at work...Funny thing is I'm not working and when I told her that she said well we have ways of finding you and that when I lose this case then I owe them over 5,000.00.

Has anyone been served with court papers yet?

Just looked up that number on reverse call look up. Here's what it gave me....I was told they were in California but this states they are in minnisota.....Totally a Scam

This is a scam. The same thing happened to me yesterday, 10/29/10. Only though the initial phone call came from an overseas number being +052-608-289. The voice mail came from a guy with an Indian accent from Anderson Law Firm. I was instructed to call 218-499-9041.

I called the number back and didn't even speak with a lawyer... wound up speaking with a Christine Brown, and she said I was being sued for an unpaid cash advance that was deposited to my bank account via ACH credit in July or August and they had the proof of the funds going in and the attempts to debit my account, and supposedly the debits were declined. She threatened me with having to prove myself to a courthouse in California and if I lost I would owe over $5,000. She demanded I fax over copies of my bank statements, which I did not do

This is definitely a scam as the same thing has happened to me twice today at work. Last week they started the same thing with a different phone number but as soon as my "Lawyer" called and told them they were being reported to the FTC and Maine State Attorney General, they hung up.
