Tried to selll a jetski and I get a scammer by email name: nicholas jeff ; nicho0.jeff@gmail.com

'Do you still have this item for sell, How about the condition?"

I know better, so I googled his email and it lead me to this forum. Glad I checked first...

I replied to tell them off.

"Hello Nick,

Yes, I still have this jetski for sale but I am not looking to be scammed at this time.

You must think I'm an idiot. You're all over the Internet as a scammer, or should I say skummer. Don't email me again, I have turned all correspondence over to the police and have added more information about your scamming.

Thanks for your time."

On more then 5 minutes later I get a response from Lilly now???

From: lillynelson24@gmail.com
To: Me

"Thanks for your mail. i would be glad to pay for it as soon as possible though i will not be available to come for an inspection due to  the nature of my work as a marring engineering, It hard to make a phone calls and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I insisted on PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my PayPal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, i will need you to give me your full name and your PayPal email address and the price so i can transfer the funds Asap for it and please if you don't have PayPal account yet, it is very easy to set up, just visit www.paypal.com  and get it set up, after you have set it up i will only need your full name and the  e-mail address you use for registration with PayPal so as to transfer the funds. I have a pick up agent that will come and pick it after the payment has been made."

He also uses the email:

nicholas jeff <nicho0.jeff@gmail.com>

He does not read the ad (He searches only for items of high value - I've sold many things of lower value on Craigs' List and NEVER get these scam emails).

He asked:

1) What is the condition?
2) Are you the Owner?
3) Your Pick up Location?
4) Your full name and your PayPal email id for the instant payment.

Typical

Then, he writes:

I would be glad to make the payment immediately through PayPal.So,kindly get back to me with your name and your PayPal email address. You need not to worry yourself about the pick up i will instruct the shipping company to handle that

Guys... m feeling so relieved that I googled Capre William before proceeding forward with the deal!!!
Phone number from which I received the messages:646-470-5102, email:  caprewilliam20@gmail.com
First this person sent me text wanting to buy the car for the price I listed on craigslist and requested few more pics. Then asked me to send my paypal details so that he/she can transfer the full amount + shipping fee which agent needs to pick up the car. The person also texted me saying that he/she is Petroleum engineer and is currently out of States.
Here's the email that I received after some text messages:
"I will be making payment now but I had this little problem now with
the pick up Agent,I got an email from my agent that she won't come and
pick up unless i pay her the agent commission fee first in order to be
able to schedule a pick up time ,and my pick up agent head quarters
and all commission payments made for pick up from anywhere in the
world is sent to their head quarters and the only form of payment they
accept is western union money transfer and i tried to pay online but i
will need a credit card which i didn't bring along, so i want you to
help me with this little help, they charged to pick it up and take it
my son home with the sum of $1,200.00USD ,i will include the Agent fee
which is $1,200.00 USD with my purchasing price to the payment i will
send through PayPal. After i have made the payment and it has been
confirmed by PayPal, i will need you to help me send the $1,200.00USD
to my pick up agent through western union money transfer and i will
add additional $150.00USD for Western Union Charges.

The total amount am going to transfer now is $16,600
You will have the sum of $15,250 for the Purchase
You will help wire the sum of $1200 to my agent.
The remaining $150 will be use to cover the western union charges.

Kindly take off the ad from craigslist,I will love to read from you
before i proceed with the transfer now."

THANKS everyone for warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE, IF ANYONE REPORTING TO BE WILLIAM CAPRE WITH THE PHONE NUMBER OF 224-377-9639, THEY ARE "SCAMMERS".  THIS IS NOT MY PHONE NUMBER.  I AM NOT BUYING ANY BOATS ANY TIME SOON AND I DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING OF ANY $$ AMOUNT WITHOUT PERSONALLY INSPECTING IT FIRST. (WHO WOULD???) NOR AM I EVER ON A BOAT FOR UPS. AS FOR THE BROKEN ENGLISH, I AM A ILLINOIS NATIVE AND A COLLEGE GRADUATE.  I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY TWO POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND MY EMPLOYER. I HAVE FULLY COOPERATED WITH THEM AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO WITH ANY FUTURE OFFICIAL CONTACTS CONCERNING THESE MATTERS, AS I AM MORE INTERESTED IN CATCHING THESE SCAMMERS THAN YOU ARE.

Thanks so much for your swift response friend, due to my knowledge i wont do anything that will tarnish my image and my personalty am not here to make any fraudulent attitude or kinda scam deal.so your boat will still be with you until the payment clears once the payment clears the pick up agent will be coming down there for the pick up.

i will be waiting to hear back from you asap so that we can proceed with the transaction.
Willaim

Sounds like a scam to me. Send money to my account and we will go from there. My paypal account is same as my email you are responding to.

Hello, I contacted the pick up driver and I just got an email from him that the pick up has to be paid for, and registered with their company headquarters before they can schedule an appointment and come for the pick up, they charged me $900.00 for pick up and delivery, and payment is only made through western union money transfer to their corporate international headquarters in Texas. I will include there shipping cost with the money I am sending you and once you receive the payment I want you to help transfer the shipping amount to them so the pick up can be scheduled. PayPal insurance policy will be informed about the process as well. Sorry to put this on you, because without the pick up, the purchase can't hold. If that is clear then you can login to your paypal account and send me payment request for the $35,000. You will have to send four request though, because the highest invoice you can send on paypal is $10,000. Thank you

My paypal account is caprwillm@gmail.com

William

OK, it is exactly as I said it was and I do have a PayPal account.

Thanks,
B

Oh Ok, Thank you for the details. I am presently aboard If you can assure me that it is ok to send money and it is just the way I have seen it I will talk to one of the pick up driver's that I know of to know the cost of shipping and what it takes. Then I can send you the money and wait till your money clears, once payment clears they will come for the pick up. My only quickest payment option right now is PayPal as I prefer to use paypal for most online transactions, because it is not always secure to share your bank account details with people, You can easily get money in your paypal and transfer it into your bank account. if you don't have an account with paypal, its easy, safe and secure. Just log on to www.paypal.com. I hope we can make the purchase as fast as possible? I look forward to hear from you soon.

William

I am in Texas. What exactly are you looking for? I have all details listed but can get you more pictures.

Thanks,
B

Thank's for your response. More details and pictures will be appreciated. I am located in Illinois, Where about are you located? I would like to check it up myself if I dont get a call from work today, I work with UPS as a Sea freight supervisor, and I am suppose to supervise a ship down to Hawaii tomorrow if it finish loading today.
It will take about 19days to get to our final destination so it might be hard for me to communicate with you, we sure make use of laptops so you can send me email and I will reply anytime I can.

I am the real Bill Capre and my apologies to all of you who were potentially scammed.  I had my ID's lost a few years ago and they have apparently made there way into scammers hands.  I have had a few calls from other people and two police departments regarding the matter, I am not at sea nor will I be (except for an occasional vacation cruise) any time soon.
Again, my apologies.

Aloha, almost believed this guy until my friend pointed out that the email was not put into my name.
Obvious he sends the same message about not being dissapointed and that he works for UPS.  He told me that he was on a shipment to Hawaii and would be 19 days on the sea.  I told him my friend bet me $100,000 that this would never happen.  Glad I looked him up online....pass it on.........

I received the same email and phone number from William Capre for an ad on Craigslist. What sounded legit at first immediately threw up a red flag when he stated he worked for UPS as someone having something to do with being at sea, and was scheduled to go to Hawaii for 19 days. His grammar and english is better than most scammers I've seen and he had not mentioned anything about Paypal or ebay yet, but probably because we didn't get that far. Thank you Google for allowing people to post things like this so we can all check it out.

This guy has now tried to scam us as well. We are situated in South Africa and he got our details from a local website where we were selling a boardroom table. He agreed to pay us the full amount via PayPal but then asked if we would mind if he deposited an additional $650 which we had to go pay to his shipping agent in China also through Western Union. He sent us a scanned copy of his US passport which you can see has been altered. According to him he resides in Hackney, North London and is a UPS Freight Supervisor. The email address and telephone numbers he used are as follows: caprewilliams@yahoo.com & +447024044806. What ultimately gave him away was the fact that he switched his Name and Surname around. In some of the correspondence he called himself Capre and in others William. This is clearly someone who has managed to obtain a legal persons passport and is using it to defraud unsuspecting individuals.

With as much information as everyone has about this guy, including myself why can't he be legally charged with something.  He is a con man and shouldn't be allowed to keep scamming people.  He wasn't trying to buy a car from us.  He was buying an $8000 machine.  You always hope these people get what they have coming to them,  I hope he doesn't slip through the cracks!!!
