If you call them back they know you have a valid number, which then moves your number from the generic robocall list to the higher frequency call list. Then they sell your number all over the universe. Don't respond, just keep your "do not call" registration up to date.

they call me often i usually ignore it but decided to ask them to remove me from thier call list due to then calling during family dinners or my kids nap time. when i push one to speak to a representative and got someone i asked nicely to be removed from the list. my first attempt he said well u can extend ur warranty on any vehicle i said no please remove me from... before i could finish he hung up on me. my second attempt sierra is who i talked to she said she would remove me i asked if she had any records of the gentleman who called me last time and she hung up on me. they are very rude and i dont appreciate it.

I didn't answer the phone, and they left no message. I get one or two calls per day from various numbers that ALWAYS show up on this site as spam calls. This started a few weeks ago, and has increased in the last week. This is my cel phone area code 602 and it is NOT on the do not call list. I rarely receive more than one call from any specific number -- I NEVER answer them. Here's a list of the numbers:
224-543-7040
203-608-5003
203-608-5003
702-520-1185
310-599-9157
602-539-7012
813-391-3686
480-889-0318
480-889-0315
234-567-8900 obviously fake. this reminds me of how skype uses 1234567890 or something.
234-567-8900
I'm trying to narrow down where they got my number. Can anyone corroborate any of these? Here are a few places I can think of:
1. zillow dot com. i put my house for sale on here several (maybe 5) weeks ago. i used to get several calls and emails a week from solicitors and realtors offering to list my house for me. "i'm calling about that house, is it still for sale? yes? well do you have a realtor yet?"
2. i have an LLC registered in AZ, since almost a year ago.
3. i signed up a few weeks ago at home depot to have a free consultation about kitchen/bathroom remodeling and cabinet refacing. they came out almost two weeks ago.
Thats all i can think of right now..
After reading many of the messages on this forum, I am wondering if the phone numbers are even real. I mean, I think these places are spoofing the caller ID like skype does and changing their "number" every day. I wonder if it will EVER be possible to get my number off the list that is obviously being passed around.

This number calls my cell phone all the time.

Did not recognize number so did not pick up. Googled the number to see what I could learn. Have rec'd calls from a different area code and number relating to my warranty about to expire...only problem is that my car is 20 years old!! It has no warranty..
country gurl 2011-06-06 20:43:49 Unknown
keeps talking about a warranty? Have never bought any kind of warranty. PEST!!
Sandra Miller 2011-06-06 20:43:49 Unknown
I don't know who this is but I want them to take me off their call list. I don't have a car warranty to start off with I think they are a big rip off. I had one on a new car that I bought and they refused to cover what they agreed to pay for in the warranty and I have never bought a car warranty since. Waste of money.

I just called the number 224-543-7040 and it says that by calling the number they are placing you on the DO NOT CALL LIST. SO I GUESS THAT IS HOW YOU GET RID OF THEM.
Derek 2011-06-06 20:43:49 Unknown
I just checked out a site and it showed that Broadwing Comm. issued the number out of Illinois, and is located in Half Day, Ill. I might track down broadwing and start hounding them for a change. Maybe you should too.

The idiots from that number are calling me too---i hate it but they don't stop
Kenny J 2011-06-06 20:43:49 Unknown
I just called the number and you press 1 if you want to be taken off the list.
Just like Sandra Miller said above.

We're a business, and when we answer they simply hang up. They've been calling several times in one day.
Paul Simpson 2011-06-06 20:43:49 Unknown
These people are lying when they call about my car's warranty about to expire.
You know because the first thing they ask for is the type of car you own. If they know you warranty is about to expire it stands to reason they would know what car you own, model , make, and serial number.
They call my private number sometimes 2 times a day. Sometimes late at night.
It annoying. It's harrassment. And it's wrong.
This is a Chicago area code. Can somebody in Chicago please straighten those people.

They just called me again. Twice today from 2 differnt phones with the same "YOU WON" Bull Crap.
I think Pres. Barack Hussein Obama hires this type of people to run our Government
because they lie good and make you feel good for a while. Then later, you find out you were a fool for believing them.

they called my business # at 12:10 a.m. Like anyone is here at midnight. Normally I will tell them what my dad used to tell telemarketers "hey, i'm interested but have to wait for my (welfare or government) check at the first of the month ....."" ha. they hang up usually.

They called to offer "Funeral Services" to me. If you listen long enough, there is a "Press 2" to be removed... Let's hope that works, as they call daily.
Stefanie 2010-08-11 20:05:55 Telemarketer
Received a call from 224-543-7040 on our main line at work, it was an automated message about funeral costs, not like car warranties like the other posts here. I hung up, tried to call the ph# back and it says it's disconnected or no longer in service? Uggh!

Brooke 2008-10-13 18:44:09 Unknown
This number calls me everyday as well. Normally I don't answer it because I'm at work. Today I decided to and they just hung up. This is getting extremely frustrating.

Why can hackers do something constructive like hack into these call centers and take their business identities............ AWAY! That's it! if you are a hacker, I challenge you and invite you to hack into these numbers and find out where this call center is. Lock into their phone frequency and bypass the (obviously not) no call list message they are hiding behind and set up and auto dial for 10 calls per minute for the next three weeks using different virtual locations so they can't track you. Heck do something fun.
I had a job offer once when looking for employment came across a job that I could do from my home. That's what it was, offering something that didn't make any darn sense. I stated that if I did that, people would be calling me back. They stated I was protected from people calling back. This is how I imagine this phone # is set up. There was a person next to me at my Group interview who stated that this was easy money because all you had to do was call and if someone answered you just had to stay on the line for about 10 seconds and then hang up because it's all about stats. Thats how you get paid is by quota of answered phone calls. Hmmmmmm no wonder the pay was min. wage. Anyway, I got up and walked out of the so called interview and went home. Dont answer these numbers. It is truly a scam.

filed another FCC complaint. They use multiple numbers from different locations within the US. The only way this will ever get stopped is for people to flood the FCC with complaints.
Tiff 2008-10-10 15:46:28 Unknown
Thats great : ) I'm gonna' use that. We should all start saying the same thing to them. It would really freak them out!
Tiff 2008-10-10 15:44:02 Unknown

Tiff 2008-10-10 15:42:19 Unknown
They just called at 10:40. No one was on the line.

The call at least 3x a day. It has a message about a car warranty, I'm handicapped I have no car. I tell them this and they are rude and then hang up
