To those who get harassing scammer calls from so called collection agencies like this one. After receiving numerous calls from this number daily  i contacted Trans Union to make sure i didnt have any accounts in collection status, which there were none. Trans Union advised me that if the calls continue from scammers like these  to get their company info or name at least with their phone number and report them to the Better Business Bureau first, to see if theyre legit, and then to the Federal Trade Commission if youre being harassed by companies such as this for debts you dont owe, and there are quite a number of them out there these days!! This number calls at least three times daily, even late at night.  Annoying but it is a recording, never get to speak to live person.

These people keep calling me saying I purchased a car in 2005, paid on it for 3 years and have a balance of $22,000.00. I did not buy a car in 2005 nor have I bought anything on credit since 1999, and I certainly would know if I paid payments for three years on something I never had. what worries me is they have my SS number. I have filed a complaint with the  Office of Financial Regulation @ WWW.flofr.com/Consumer/Forms/ccaComplaint.pdf    This is a division of the Florida's Attorney Generals Office. Also filed with the Federal Trade Commision, Washington DC, @ 1-877-438- 4338, I suggest everyone of you do the same. Go online to find your States Attorney Generals site, Go to Debt Collectors and it will explain your rights and actions that can be taken against this company, You do not have to prove that you don't owe these debts, They (Halsted) or any other collection MUST prove you owe the debt by sending you a copy of the Bill or Financial Contract. Until they are shut down and put in jail, just dont answer the call. If you do answer be sure to have a recording device and tell them the call is being recorded. You are protected by your Local and Federal Govt. LETS GET THIS SCUM OF THE EARTH BEHIND BARS.

Whoever these people are, they call me 2-3 times a day and leave a 10+ minute voicemail repeating some automated message that I couldn't comprehend if I really tried, really annoying, block the number.

Here is where they can be found, just pay them a visit I'm sure they will change their tune very quickly! We will be paying them a visit! They try to collect on VERY OLD BILLS that have been charged off! These D****Heads can't do nothing to you just make sure you record all phone calls and contact with them!

OMG RUDE RUDE miserable people on this line. Had to yell at the guy not to harass me over my sister's debts.

Calls keep coming day and night asking for someone, tells me to hang up if this is not.

I use it to block all these numbers I dont know

THEY ARE TRYING TO COLLECT DEBTS OWED BY MY EX HUSBAND AND HE'S BEEN DEAD 8 YEARS RECORDED MESSAGE CALLED ON MY DEAD MOTHERS CARETAKERS PHONE NUMBER --NOT EVEN MY PHONE NUMBER  SHE CALLED ME I CALLED THE PHONE NUMBER BACK GOT SOME RUDE GUY NAMED BILL SMITH SAYING I OWED THIS DEBT ---- I AM NOT PAYING MY DEAD EX HUSBANDS BILLS HE CAN CALL TILL THE COWS COME HOME ---- GO DIG UP THE EX HUSBAND SEE IF YOU CAN GET HIM TO PAY HIS BILLS

They call numerous times and argue with you. They also call realatives and leave nasty messages

We have had several people at our office getting calls from this number.  I programmed the PBX to rout the call back to the number it came from.  When they call our office they get their own recording.

They keep calling my cell phone and saying i owe them. When I asked what company they are calling from caller would get mad and stated they didn't have to disclose that information. I personally would like to know who and from where someone calling especially since they state I owe them. Needless to say, they started to curse me out and that i was being a A******. I, of course got ticked off and gave them a piece of my mind and i hung up.

This number called  this am I answered &as soon as I did they hungup?????Going to block there number or continue to not answer calls from unknown numbers that are not in my phone!!

They call everyday and several times.  They start at 7 am and call until 10 at night.   They will call about a minute apart wait an hour and do it again.  
I will find out how to block them.

I've read about this number on other websites. It is not a legit debt collector, but a scam to bully people into paying something they don't owe. I'm glad I didn't answer, they didnt leave a message, so I assumed it wasn't important.

Per my bankruptcy attorney, "It is not a legit company...there are so many of these out there now, filing a police report is all one can do, but they are scam agencies."

I have been receiving calls from this (and similar) numbers all day on my cell phone and my work phone.
I finally picked up when they called my work phone so that I could tell them not to call me at work and the recording said that a case had been escalated because of non-response from me, but I have not received any letters or statements from this company and today was the first day I've received phone calls from them.

After the whole automated spiel (using phrasing that tried to sound intimidating), there was an option to press "0" to "make a statement towards the claim".  I have spent the last 2 years working to clear up any outstanding debt I had with creditors so I pressed zero to find out what this was all about and it rang and rang until it disconnected me without being able to speak to someone or leave a message.

If I truly do owe someone, it doesn't help your company to disconnect me before I can talk to someone about setting up payment arrangements.

Male said his name was Randy and that I had an outstanding debit.    SCAM!!!

called my office phone with a recorded message saying "this is a message for xxxxxxxxx, if this is not xxxxxxxxx please hang up." so I did!

Called me this morning - I answered and said, "Hello?" three times with silence on their end, so I hung up - caller ID shows "HFS" in Skokie IL - a Google search shows its government health care.... well...im in AZ - never needed or used government funded heath care. They got added to my my trusty cell phones "Reject Call List!"

Just block them.

This number has called my cell phone numerous times and so does 850-270-4055 and several times a day.  This is ridiculous as I pay for my minutes, and someone should be able to stop these collectors.  I owe no one a dime, and feel that if I can type a number in a search and get the name so can these non stop collecting agencies.  I'm not nor the caller care the person they are trying to call.....

repeatedly calling me for years looking for the previous owner of the phone number i am not in debt i owe no one a dime that would be looking to collect i have repeatedly asked them to stop to no avail. they call me as late as 9 and 10 at night

I have made arrangements with them when they called and threatened me at my job. The arrangements were going well until I noticed they were charging me more money outside of arrangements. Everything I call mailbox is full. I stopped payments with my bank, I also got a lawyer he pulled them up on Better Business Bureau, their rating is awful. Filling Bankruptcy!

debt collector shows up as unknown. but left a nasty message. they are Halsted posing as APAX. they buy old debts, even going as far as buying charge offs and write offs.

DEBT COLLECTOR - WHEN ASKED TO SUPPLY PROOF OF DEBT HE GOT ANGRY AND SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE TO PROVIDE ANYTHING.  WHEN I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T HAVE TO FALL FOR HIS SCAM EITHER HE GOT REAL ANGRY AND HUNG UP.  SAID HIS NAME WAS RAY SMITH.
