Public Awarenes came up on my caller id.

This is the LA State Troopers Association trying to drum up donation money; they call me constantly and will not stop despite my many verbal requests. This is a scam outfit that does not meet the definition of a charity. Reported to do not call and I will not be picking up the phone for Public Awareness again.

I called (225)272-1859 back, no one answered the phone but a fax machine sound.

Just talked to the breast cancer relief fund - 90% of your donation goes to paying salaries and "costs".  DO NOT donate to this scam.

I called the number back and got a 'Cancer Relief Fund'

I received a call from this BCRF also.  It is not the Breast Cancer Research Fund.  It is the Breast Cancer Relief Foundation and it is in New Orleans, LA.  When I looked it up on the web, it seems to be a good organization that does a lot for women suffering with Breast Cancer.  After doing the research, I will give a donation if they call back.  I'm sure they will.  They all do.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is based in NY not Louisiana and their web page specifically says they do not solicit donations by phone.

Looks like a scam to me... Couldn't find any organisation named "Breast Cancer Research Fund" - they all appear to be named after somebody such as the "Carolyn Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund" (which is legit).  Also couldn't find any in Louisiana.

CALLED....NO ONE ON THE LINE

I get weird calls all the time from many places, this being one.  I am on the do not call list, but I think it just gives these type of callers a list  TO call instead of NOT calling!

I NEVER ANSWER BUT THEY CALL A FEW TIMES A WEEK.

I too, called back but after many rings, the sound of a fax machine came on.  The pathetic state troopers association here in Texas pulls the same stunts AFTER you've told them to remove your name from their lists.  They call, hang up when you answer and when you call back, the fax machine or even a message that tells you that their mailbox is full!

BCRF came up on the Caller ID

BCRF-was told they were representing breast cancer research funding, however, breast cancer research does not solicit over the telephone!  This is a scam!  Beware!  On the Breast Cancer Research Web site, they state they do NOT solicit over the phone!

Caller ID says BCRF, what ever that is?

we are getting them calling way too many times.  Some of our other calls we would get have stopped.  Maybe reporting them as much as we have has stopped them.

We are on the do not call list and I have reported bad numbers but always like to be sure of these places that someone is representing them properly and more things.  I would support or give to breast cancer research but would like to legitimately and more as have had friends and family with it. But any scammers can say they represent such and such thinking you are giving to a true cause and that is the trap some fall into and more especially with elderly and more have seen.

So Beware!!!

BCRF showed up on my caller ID as well.  When I tried to answer the phone they hung up.  I googled BCRF & came across a site for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Probably soliciting for donations.

Got several calls on cell from 225-395-0221 caller (female voice with British accent) left message saying important call please hold or call back. Called back from landline and american female voice answered with name of company.  Couldn't make out name so I asked her to repeat the company name and asked what kind of business they were and she hung up!  Obviously, fraudulent!

Call came across as "Unknown". I don't answer "Unknown".  No message left so I have no idea who "Unknown" is.

Received a call today from BCRF  225-272-1859....Didn't answer as I did not recognize the # on caller ID.....How do we stop these types of calls?  I too am on the DO NOT Call list, but it doesn't seem to help.  They get around this.  There has to be a better way!!!!

Called but left no message.  Also on the DoNotCall.gov list. I would have been a great sucker since my best friend was just diagnosed with BC.  Also give to police but have limited it to a hand to hand donation to local.  Now will do the same with BC.

Calls twice a day, everyday, now I am getting other calls alike from different numbers. I was pretty sure it originated from the State Troopers Association donation, and now this site's comments confirms it.

phone rang I said Hello ________________ no answer no sound nobody says anything so I repeated above and no answer I hung up. have received this phone call before.

Have received three calls from this number.  Once caller ID said BCRF; last two times (twice within one minute tonight) nothing on the ID except Baton Rouge LA.  Never left a message.  Have been on DNC list since Day One-- fat lot of good it does!
