called 4/16/09 6:20 PM from 025-419-240: Ryan ______ (Indian accent but not thick) calling from Customer Compliance of the US National Bank in California, about my friend's payday loan from 2006.  My friend is self employed and has not worked for anyone else in over 20 years.  I asked about his physical address; said ?hold a moment,? got back on the phone and said he cannot disclose his physical address.  I lost cell signal.  He called back and left message:
This is Ryan Deck, please pass on my name and number: 225-522-4430. If she does not respond in 7 or 8 days she will be in big trouble.  Said I am the co-signer and  I will also be affected.

Update - The harrassment continues..."Don" told my husband on the phone this afternoon he is going to come to our house and cut my hands and feet off and watch me bleed to death, if we don't comply with their wishes.

He also told my husband they are located out of the country.

Same people calling me except they say the debt is for a friend of mine. That she used my name as a reference and now I am responsible because they can't get a hold of her. She is my friend but we only talk twice a year and she says she owes no money. They keep calling me and saying I am the to pay. I have a new born baby and between the phone ringing and them arguing with me, I don't know how much more I can take. How do I make them stop? Help!

Called me 2x today at work threatening me that I owed a debt for a pay day loan from 2006. These same people called and harassed me last year I think in November. The first time he called today, I told him they'd already tried to scam me last year and it didn't work then, wouldn't work now, he was yelling at me and interrupting me and I told him never to call me at work again and hung up on him. He called right back and I simply picked up the phone and hung it back up.  He then called my mother (who I have used before as a reference) and she took down the information and called me. She was aware of the scam last time. I've done business online, and he does somehow have all of my information, so it's really a form of identity theft that he got this list of information from somewhere. If he calls me again, I plan to call the appropriate Florida agency and make them aware of the scam. Last time I reported him to them, they called him, but by then they had already disconnected all their phone numbers. It's definitely a scam - do not give them any money. They will give up after a couple of days. Local law enforcement will not do anything for you so don't bother with them. You need to contact a fraud department in your state to report this scam so they can put a stop to it. Unfortunately, they are like roaches, and they will continue to crop up again and again. He claims to be Don Parker calling from the Federal Civil Liability Department of the California Federal Court. Even though I knew it was a scam - it still scared me that he was calling again because I can get in trouble at work for these types of calls. Hopefully he realized by now he does not have a player in me and he'll leave me and my family alone.

This number is a scam. They called me telling me that I cosigned for my sister when indeed I never did and tried to collect $350 from me. Please report this number to the Federal Trade Comission FTC: FTC.gov and fill out a complaint you may also contact them at 1-877-FTC-HELP.

Scammers masquerading as debt collectors and law enforcement officials have terrified consumers with threatening phone calls and bilked them out of thousands of dollars, officials with the West Virginia Attorney General's Office say.

Prosecutors said that the scammers, who speak with heavy foreign accents, are known for repeatedly calling people at home and at work and threatening them with arrest if they don't repay supposed debts -- debts that, according to West Virginia officials, don't actually exist.

These people keep calling my work phone. Even after they spoke to someone who couldn't reveal my information, they kept on calling back. Actually this is the second time in a year these same people, with the same story are at it again! So annoying! I owe no one nothing, I never took a loan out! pure crap!

Received (4) calls yesterday at work and (5) calls today at work.  I called this number today to see if valid.  A Vint answered and talked so low I could not hardly hear him.  Says about a 2006 "payday" loan - No payday loans taken out - I told them not to call again and that I was contacting authorties.  Said I owed around $800.00 and they would accept $200.00 and be considered paid.  I asked them to mail documentation - they said they could not - A PURE SCAM!!

Got a call from these people also saying the prior company handling this "payday loan" was shut down by the FDC and that they have the account now.  I did not take out this payday loan they are talking about and they keep calling me at work.  I understand that compannies like this are not allowed to call you if you ask them not to.  They don't get it.
