that sounds like me exactly, only my mail comes to my house, and I don't have a good excuse.  When I googled the number, I realized my Cox payment(s) were late.  Seems as though they would get paid faster if they would leave a message.  Although they will take your pmnt over the phone.  Maybe that's what they're shooting for.

That is overwhelmingly true. I just received a call from them, and just a couple days ago, my net went completely down for a couple hours. Plus, I'm paying for the top tier service in my area, which is 20 down, 1.5 up with powerboost, yet on a normal day, I'm lucky to see over 1.5 down. My upstream is generally pretty decent, but I can hardly even watch a youtube video without it the slider catching up to the end of what's been downloaded. I lived in Cali for 3 years and had Comcast. I NEVER had any problems like this. I got MORE than what I paid for over there. Any time my speeds were LESS than 20Mbps downstream, I knew something was wrong.

I agree Eric. They should just identify themselves. They're hoping the 'unknown' number will be somehow mysteriously appealing. "Hmm, maybe it's publishers clearing house with a million dollar check. I better answer..." How about a number that just identifies itself as 'cox bill overdue' or something similar. I already know for a fact that if I answer the phone, I'll have some rude 'courtesy' caller trying to muscle me into giving my account info over the phone anyway. Not going to happen. Of course, when my internet service slows down to ZERO kbps, I don't receive any calls, nor do I receive any discounts for the MANY HOURS that cox is too slow to even be used. Hmmm... where's the courtesy call when we actually need the courtesy?

Thanks for this website. Yes, it is Cox, or so I'd guess. I got a call from that number twice and they left no message. So I plugged that number into Yahoo, and voila. I then realized I hadn't paid my Cox internet bill, as I always do online. I get my bills elsewhere from where I stay, and had forgotten to pay it- and couldn't survive without www access. Those idiots should allow the call to be ID'd, that would've been enough of a reminder. Don't they realize many people do not answer their phones if they don't know the caller? Thanks, again.
