Same as above. Tried to take over my computer to remove malware. Said he was from Cyber Support in California. Then Seattle. Works for Microsoft to fix computers and that my computer was sending them alerts. I actually got him to admit that this whole thing was a scam and we had a really nice chat about stealing from people. They are definitely from India. Call them back and have some fun with them......if you can get them to break their code, they are pretty funny. They will transfer the call to one of their other guys......sometimes it's just the same guy with a different Indian accent.

Just received a call from some guy saying he was from Cyber Support. He said he was calling from Seattle WA. He said technical support had done a survey of my local and found many viruses. He also said they were certified Microsoft engineers. He said I had a Windows computer and needed protection. The telephone number he gave me was 1-226-777-0091. As soon as I picked up the phone I could tell it was a scam, I kept him on the phone for over 20 minutes by asking question after question trying to get him to prove any statement he made. He finally asked me if I was dumb and passed me off to another person who just hung up on me.

Just got same call from Michael Sheppard of India.  He had my name and was pushing me to get in front of my computer right now. Said I couldn't and would call back.  Said, rather urgently, somone was using my computer and I needed to get to my home screen.  The computer he was talking about is off.  He too said he was from Cyber Support out of D.C.  Too bad the 226 area code for the number he gace is Ontario Canada!

Just got a call from "Sean Smith" (Indian accent!) who claimed to be in the IT department of "Cyber Support".  Told him I couldn't deal with it right now... need to pick up kids...  "Sean Smith" will call me back in about an hour.  Hmmm.... wish I had some kind of recourse!

Unfortunately plenty of naive people have fallen for it or this scam would not still be going on for years now.

I got a call from some Indian accent guy as well. I know it was a scam because just the way he was trying to tell me I had a virus and didn't even have my computer on. I was asking him how he knew I had one. I'll tell you these dudes are kinda slick I hope nobody fault for this guy or any of the other ones. I'm glad that I was smart enough to know from the jump was kinda goofy but I kept him on the phone as long as I could to just to try to get him to not be able to call someone who didn't know .... I haven't told him I was going to have to call him back this is the number he gave me too I hope nobody and I mean nobody falls for this I can't even imagine what he would do with having access to someones computer these people should be arrested and thrown away and locked away

He wanted me to turn on my computer and give him access to remove the infections. IT IS A SCAM. I kept him on the phone for about 20 minutes just so that he had less time to call others. the number is the number he gave me to call him back
