Seriously!  I love a feel good story!

This is an off-shore criminal group. They are spoofing the number (that means they only appear to be calling from this number, which may have been a legitimate number for some company...in fact, they are actually calling from some other number or using the internet). It is not telemarketing ....it is criminal activity.

Go ahead and complain to CRTC but good luck to them in trying to find these criminals somewhere in cyberspace, never mind charging them.

Looks like the criminals took an extra long holiday break and are now back at it.

From reading the posts for this number....it is clear that a number of scams have been run on this number....so a very good indication of criminal activity. Then, when people on the DNC list complain about being called...well...another very good indication. Last, I can't block the number ("this number is not available" says my phone block service) and that says the number is simply being spoofed. SO BOTTOM LINE.....these are criminals. Do not answer their calls or talk with them.

Just because your account is cancelled does not mean you don't still owe them money hence the bills.

This is a company called "credit services" they claim to represent visa and mastercard, but will hang up when you ask for proof OR if you mention the DNC list - fr%$&'in Losers!

I got a call no one answer

I just had the same number pop up.  No message was left.

Keeps calling, I'm not part of Rogers, I am on the do not call list, yet this number calls frequently?? I do not answer, no message is ever left...

If you keep getting calls from them like I do a friend just told me that if you press * 7 times it takes your number out of their system and they can't call you again. I tried it and it works.

The above number called my cell, I didn't answer.

Just got a call from them, I'm with Telus too, and same deal with unlisted number.

hi i just got a call from 1-226-799-7736 with no one on line. pushed 1 to see what would happen and a few seconds later they hung up saying nothing. after googling the number i found it to be from ontario in the kitchener,london,windsor area and belongs to Rodgers debt collection agency. my cell ph. no.is not a published no. so either they are using a robo call machine(which i believe is illegal) or telus is selling their cust. list. funny part about this is i have never dealt with rogers and my house ph. and cell no. are on the do not call list so if they are scammers or telemarketers they are not allowedto call iether no.

I just got a call from this number as well it calls me all the time! it is driving me nuts

I also received the call twice in the last week, and it's a recording of a female who says I am eligible for 0% interest on my credit cards. I also hung up. Is there some way to block this number?

I picked it up a few weeks ago and pressed 2 to be removed from the calling list and nobody has called me since. If you hang up you aren't going to get the calls to stop.

Just got a call on my cell phone: new legislation...i am eligible for 0% credit cards. Same British voice. Did not press any number, no one picked up the line.

Got a call from them today, did not know what it was but picked it up anyway, nobody talked and there was no pre-recorded message either...nothing at all. They have been calling here often, about 3 times in the last week alone.

They are using a robo-dialer to call EVERY number.  That includes numbers that are not in use, fax machines, business lines, and cell phones.  Yes, thats illegal.  For a scammer its just one more law to break.

This number is calling my CELL phone. When I see an unfamiliar area code, I don't answer as it is usually a spam call. Everyone here is saying the same thing, that they are calling CELL phones. So where are they getting access to our cell phone numbers and not home numbers?  My provider is telus (I know, thats my problem!), so maybe everyone should call their provider and demand some answers.

I missed this call, and was wondering where was it calling from.  I checked the area code on internet  ......... result was there was no such area code.  When I checked out the whole number of 12267997736, I then found out this is one of those scam calls.  It was good that I don't have an answering or message function on my phone, otherwise they would have left a "you know what they could make up anything they want" message.  We have to be just very careful about this kind of scam calls.

why is my cell number being used by telemarketers when it's on the national No Call list?

This number called my cell. I picked up, and there was no one on the line. I actually waited about 45sec to see what would happen, but no one ever came on the line in all that time.

I received this call through a recorded voice telling me about credit card...these people had nothing to do..they are full of s***!!!!!!!

Got 2 calls from this number, both hang ups before I could even answer. I get these calls all the time on my cell and it's starting to get really irritating. They always call while I'm at work.

The number 1-226-799-7736 was a credit card agency whom you can't trust as you don't even know if they are the agency or not..never trust any callers you don't know. They are getting slicker all the time and  make you believe they are legit. They are also going around house to house selling Aliant cable and ADT security and they are bogus as well. Watch out everyone as they are very convincing...I should know because I believed them.
