They called me today.. 21 January 2012, means it still happens!
They call with a cheap number, like 5cts a minute, and try to get you to call back, because it'll cost you alot and the money will go to THEM and not to the provider. I got called by this number, and the guy who called me was from Australia and wanted me to pay something, he haven't mentioned what.. I got called 6 times in a hour by the same guy, and when he called me for the 7th time, he hung up after I said 'hello'. Pretty wierd this problem hasn't been fixed yet, and I see that it's most for people who use Lyca-mobile or T-mobile..

Vandaag, 21 januari 2012 werd ik ook gebeld door dit nummer en ik vond het raar, aangezien ik een paar posts zag waarin mensen T-mobile zouden bellen voor het probleem. Wat dus waarschijnlijk wel is gebeurd, maar het probleem bestaat nog steeds en is heel vervelend. Ze bellen jou goedkoop voor bijv. 5cent per minuut en willen dat jij terugbelt en zij vangen het geld waarmee jij belt i.p.v de provider. Ik werd dus gebeld door een man uit Australie met dat nummer en hij wou dat ik een of ander product zou betalen dat ik besteld had, wat dus helemaal niet zo was, ik ben nog minderjarig en m'n ouders waren niet thuis dus ik zei: 'I can't do this right now because you need to send me a bill where it shows that someone from my family has ordered this product'.  Vervolgens werd ik nog een aantal keren gebeld door hetzelfde nummer en vroeg hij hetzelfde, na de 7e keer zei ik 'Goedemiddag' want het nummer stond er niet meer en er werd direct opgehangen, ik vind dit echt heel vaag, aangezien er een aantal posts zijn geplaatst waarin diverse mensen zeggen dat ze T-mobile gebeld hebben voor het blokkeren van het nummer (oplossen van 't probleem) maar alsnog werd ik erdoor gebeld. Ik snap dat ik m'n nummer kan blokkeren, maar ik bel eenmaal best vaak dus ik ga niet m'n nummer blokkeren.
P.s ik werd gebeld op een 06 nummer, (BlackBerry Curve 8520)

I have had a call to from this number at 6 am this morning.
I have a new phone number from t-mobile...
So I would think that they can explain something, because we are all t- mobile users that get a call from that strange number...

it's probably a fraud, charging a lot when you call back. seems this number targets mostly dutch t-mobile and lyca mobiles.

I just got called twice  from this +228 number too .I also have a prepayed T-mobile contract  from the netherlands

wasnt a dutch number so didnt phone back it is probely a phone scam where u gotta pay for when u call that number and they get loads for it i bet

228 prefix is from south mississippi in the usa, i live there and this number is from

Heb het doorgegeven aan de helpdesk van T mobile. Zij zouden het in de gaten gaan houden. Was nog niet echt bekend bij ze. Blijven bellen dus, misschien dat ze er iets aan kunnen doen.

I can see that I do not need to be calling this number back. My conclusion is that it must be a fraud or something. Thanks for everybody's comment. My advise to others after me, neglect this number and do not call back.

die gene belt vanuit togo ofzo, belt naar nederlandse mobieltjes en het zijn volgens mij allemaal vrij nieuwe mobieltjes (die van mij ook) en alleen bij t-mobilr gebruikers
lijkt wel of iemand de nummers van t_mobile heeft gejat ofzo en daar vast geld mee wil aftroggelen bij ons op 1 of andere manier, vast door hem terug te bellen.
vet vaag die telefoontjes.

I've also been called yesterday evening by this number, only rang once. It appears to be a number from the African country of Togo, I contacted T-Mobile helpdesk (I've also got a T-Mobile prepaid), they noted the number and are keeping it in mind, in case of more people calling about it. So be wise, and call the T-Mobile helpdesk, maybe we can do something about it. I've got a feeling this is something like the scam mails from Nigeria you sometimes get, about money transfers and stuff, whatever you do, don't call back, just report it at T-Mobile.

I also got this phone call. +228 is indeed the code for Togo, but after that the number counts seven digits, that's quite strange. The area code for Mississippi is also +228, could it be?

Not that it really matters, I'd just advise anyone not to call back, it might as well be some kind of phone-call scam.

228 is the togo but with 7 number we can't call
