just received this call on my cell phone.  It was a recording in spanish.  no idea what for though...

I believe the agency that has oversight is the ICC (Interstate Commerce Commission).  They are the same agency that handles the "do not call" and "no junk mail" lists.

I google earthed the location of the phone number I got two areas both in the middle of nowhere

I received a call from the the number above, but checked here before I did anything.  I can see it may be a scam so I am not going to call back.

It is clearly a fee based service wanting to get a call back.  The company that issues the phone number is the company that needs to be contacted.  Talk to there customer service.  Try to find out who the phone number belongs to.  If we are being charged for a call back, it is clearly a scam and should be covered by local law enforcement where the exchange is operating.  Once a police report is filed, then they can get the information from the telephone company.  If the telephone company is collecting the monies then be sure to take it to the local press in their area.

I do not have the time to do this, in the past with an issue similar to this, after getting a number of calls, I tracked down the source of the phone and looked up who owned the property where the service was located.  Then I posted the owner of the property's name on very web site like this and recommended that each person that gets a call, call the property owner.  After getting calls for months, the calls stopped within 3 days after the posting.

i get these calls everytime someone from Mexico get a hold of my number ones that are living here with and with out papers it has  been happeneing from about 2 years now i get a new number every two months and then i give it to one person that is from mexico and i get the call  its just happened again to me now i gave my # to a nice lady and then when she hung up a few min. latter the call came

Same here. Sprint charged us $1.75 too.  Need to find ways to report this scam.

same as most everyone else, let it go to vm and whoever just hung up. I am too sceptical to call unknown numbers

I called the number back and was Charged by Virgin Mobile  $1.75  ( a 411 call ).
I called 2 times and hung up when I heard "411".

The third time I contacted an 411 operator and was told to call customer service. Whos customer service? I don't know.

The number is a 411 service ( In disguise, I never dialled 411 )

Virgin Mobile says it has nothing to do with them  but yet I got charge by Virgin mobile....

This number cannot be reached by my landline. ( Says out of service )

Simply can not understand why Virgin Charges me if they have nothing to do with them...

The Voice Mails I get from them are in Spanish ( Maybe ),  I think so that you do not understand so when you call back You just spent money on a 411 call you never really dialed.

Obvisouly this is a scam.... Cannot understand why some agaency doesn't do something..

I got a call from this at 12:13pm CST (noon hour) today Sept 14.
No message, just some breathing, so I know it was a live person not a computer call.
