You will notice, in all cases, that the orders are made using free, web based, email accounts. No business - none - would use such an email. Even if they use a domain address, a simple search on 'whois' would tell you all about it. With the recent theft of information at Target, I can see a lot of problems with "card not present" orders.

I just got the same email. I replied saying that the cost would be $37,500. He said that he wants to plase the order. Lets see if he sends me a check.

I work at a sign company that does larger commercial and LED signs, but we get banner quote request every so often. Our generic sales email got two or three of these emails - the exact same wording, asking for 150 2x5 banners, from different emails and names. It's almost funny that they don't change anything about their order request.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF SCAMS!!!!

A few months back, we had an order for several hundred banners from someone in New York for something in a different country.  It seemed skeptical so we called the credit card company and sure enough, it was a fraudulent card.

A few days ago, this email came through and I was questioning it. Thank goodness I had the sense to search this man's name and I want to thank you all for posting the same thing because now I am more comfortable ignoring this customer, especially in a situation that I think is a scam.

Got this weird request from someone i have never hear of before.. Asked him some business information.. and it just seemed funny. I do wholesale work and companies do not always have business email address.. Getting ready to quote this job for him. I always do my homework before i quote anything. I would hate to give out my prices to a retail customer. I could not find a business by this name in the town that he says he is from. And than put his number into the google, and found this.. Be aware!

The usual scam is for the scammer to send you a check to pay for merchandise and shipping, and to ask you to forward the shipping charges to his shipper (the scammer's accomplice or the scammer itself). The check bounces in a few days but your wire transfer (money order, etc.) to his shipper will be stolen. This scam is frequently for large bulky items with large shipping charges but sometimes scammers try to go for the gold and buy high-value items like PCs and try to steal both merchandise and shipping cost (more difficult scam requiring mules).

This is want i received last week from this guy, And i mean i checked the phone number and asked what was his companies name and he gave me JMB Decor in Albany, GA  I even checked that, i typed in the phone number through google it was connected to that number, but it was a Magic jack phone. We tried running on a credit card machine knowing it would detect something if it was false and it would not go through,    Thank God GOD was on my side!!!!E

We got a call from this "Jeff Wilson" person yesterday stating he is working for "First Capital Plus", which is only located in Ghana.  He provided an address of 205 Cumberland Lane in Albany, GA, which is not a real address, and the same phone number 229-638-2050.  He wanted 150 banners and used the ol' "pick up with my Freight company" scam often used with online companies, Craigslist, etc.  Do not trust this person or other folks like him.

Non American person calling a business asking to purchase anything we have in stock.  Likely a scam.  (229-638-2050 says his name is JEFF WILSON however he doesnt sound like JEFF WILSON from the USA.  He says he will call you back when you query as to the nature of his call.  He acts as if he wants to purchase something from you but doesnt know what?
