I have been getting calls twice daily from this number for the past 10 days. No one there when I answer. I have called back twice and get the recording that asks you to enter your number to opt out of getting calls. It then disclaims that it may take up to 30 days to be removed from their list. Real nice -- so I get to be pestered for at least 30 more days.

I received the same. Apparently they record your voice and then claim you ordered an online directory, and they bill you!!! I called the FTC and they suggested calling the Attorney General of your state.
Was told by the NJ Atty. Gen's office that as it is a business, they do not handle this situation. I would need to hire an attorney to fight any charges.
Also called the PA Atty. General who said they will look into it.
EVERYONE- CALL YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. IF WE STICK TOGETHER, WE CAN GET THEM TO DO SOMETHING!!!

"They are calling to get you to update your company's profile online. i assumed we were updating a verizon yellow pages thing, so they said they were super pages. I assumed it was the same thign and then the second the guy said "we dont want you to miss this great opportunity" i knew it was a scam. They try to get you to update some profile about your company and then they'll bill you for it." --- Same here
The only difference is I took to yelling at the guy about hang up on my employees, wasting our time with their non-english speaking middle eastern fools. I then went on to tell them that if they dared disclose any information about our company I would sue them to no end. They guy was totally lost. I told him to put someone on that I could understand, how rude they were and that we refuse to do business with any company such as their. My phone has not rang since. SO...
IF YOU WANT THEM TO STOP CALLING YOU....YELL AT THEM. THREATEN TO SUE THEM IF THEY PUBLISH ANY INFORMATION. MORE SO, TELL THEM THAT YOU REFUSE TO PAY THEM FOR ANY SERVICES AS YOU HAVE NOT REQUESTED NOR DESIRE ANY SERVICES FROM HIM.

Called looking for "the manager". I asked who specifically they were looking for. Again "the manager". I asked where they were calling from he would not tell me. I asked what they were calling in regards to. Started getting annoyed with me. Told him if he would not tell me where he was calling from, and the specific person he was looking for (there's several managers here, it's a big office) he had no business calling. He started yelling so I hung up. He called back screamed "is that how you do business". I told him we don't do business with telemarketers and hung up again as he began to curse and scream again. The only people who call the office are existing clients and friends/family of coworkers(all of which know exactly who they are looking for).

These people have been calling my business on a regular basis. I just ignore them as Pacific Hub means nothing to me. If they are really Yellow Pages.com, as another poster states, they are shameless scammers that have been preying on businesses for years.
They send out a bogus bill(that states it is not a bill) about a Yellow Pages listing that doesn't exist. They are not Dex or Verizon or any other legitimate Yellow Pages publisher. I just throw their bills in the trash.
I think I'll save the next bill and try to find out who runs the bogus company, and then send the bogus bill back to him with a strong suggestion that he do something anatomically impossible.

First, these kind of telemarketers use an auto-dialer. They have no control over the number their phone dials it is computer generated - that's how they get unlisted numbers - it's all random.
They keep calling back because your exchange is a hot demographic and the auto-dialer keeps dialing until their hit ratio drops below a predetermined level and they move on - only to be replaced by the next group.
These guys, and so many like them, are listening to how you answer the phone. If you say "Hello" or pretty much anything other than "Name of Business, How may I help you" they hang up. Why do they call back? Auto-dialer, remember?
If they determine it is a business then they launch into their sales pitch while pretending to be updating your FREE directory listing. Ultimately, they are after two things; 1) get as much information verified as possible, and 2) to sell you some type of advertising. If they can't sell you anything they will gladly settle for getting as much pertinent information which they then sell to OTHER telemarketers at a premium because YOU JUST VERIFIED IT.
If these turkeys are calling you and hanging up, count your blessings.

got a call some marketing company with this number. I am a doctor and said I was with patients, they didn't care. I hung up and dialed back to get off the do not call list. The response was recorded press 1 for do not call then enter the number and it states that that number does not exist. When I reported it to the do not call website and entered that number it stated that could not report my complaint that my personal phone number and the 231 732-2173 were the same number, which isn't true, could not accept my do not call complaint.

I answered, they asked for the owner or office manager of my company. When I told him i closed it, he said OK and hung up. I called back and the message said they were calling for marketing research purposes.

I get the same calls. These call cost them almoust nothing but the persons time. If you want nothing and hang up they win. The key is to keep them on the phone as long as possible, then the cost goes up. Every few seconds is another call they could have made. If I have nothing to do I keep them on the phone as long as I can. I agree to everything and get details of everything until it's time to pay. Then I put them on hold to go get the payment. After a few of these unproductive 5-10 minute calls it will either become too unproductive to continue or they will get pissed with the people playing their own game and quit the job. If we all do it they will loose big money.
Jesse 2011-06-06 20:43:57 Unknown
Caller ID said "Pacific Hub". Nobody there- Likely a phone scam of some kind.
Ma Ball 2011-06-06 20:43:57 Unknown
The telephone companies get rich by allowing this nonsense to continue, so don't expect any help from them. I've received 10 calls from this number alone in the past 8 days (one so far this morning). I installed a phone "zapper" that screens calls so they do not ring through. I use a free utility called PhoneTray (I don't work for them or sell it, it's free). It's the only way I've found to keep my sanity any more with all these telemarketing calls.

When I do answer, usually no one is there. One time a lady asked for a manager...I told her she had the wrong number and that this was a residence. Later, I got another call with no one there. How do I block this number. I have voip.
Sheri 2011-06-06 20:43:57 Unknown
Receive daily calls from this number and have for weeks. The first time, there was a person that answered and asked for an office manager, something about toner. Then every call after that, nothing but silence.
