Righting a blog on these #?s help many people. I for one no longer answer calls from #?s I don?t know. If it?s important they will leave a message.     But more importantly reporting these calls to the ? do not call ? is a waste of time. Call the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 there you can talk to a live person and report up to 5 numbers, or go on line to ftc.gov  ( federal trade commission) and file a complaint. If we ALL do this maybe it will get some attention.

Received call from 234-542-5932. My wife asked what company this was and they hung up.
Scam call. I just added this number to my "Call Rejection" table in MagicfeaturesPlugin, since my phone is on MagicJack. That take care of this number for good. Actually I may try the "*' wildcard block for all of 234-542* or maybe all of 234* although I hate to think I might block someone in Ohio that is actually an honest caller! Probably will wait to see if I get other scam calls...

I'm tired of receiving these scam calls. Just received one from this number. They use all different area codes and numbers so there is no tracing but they're all scams. Why can't these people be stopped???

I got this # on my cell phone.  Answered and it was a recorded message from "Lauren from MCS" stating I may be paying too much interest on my credit card and blah, blah, blah (Basically the same crap as "Ann from Card Services" so many were plagued with last year).

It is a fraud, scam.  I hung up.

If this is on your mobile, you can download an app (paid not free) called "Call Control" in which you can block unwanted calls.  I keep my mobile by the bed at night for work reasons and this has prevented me from being awoken for nothing on many occasions.

They have only one weakness and that is the fact that you know they are going to keep calling you.  The numbers they are using evaporate as soon as they hang up and there is apparently no way to trace them or block them.  Your only defense is to turn it into a hobby.  Go to Walmart and buy an air horn from the boating department.  Set it beside your phone and just wait.  When they call, and they will, press 1 to speak to a rep (not sure if that stands for representative or reptile) but when they answer try to blow their eardrums out the other side of their head.  Soon you will be looking forward to their calls.  It's great fun.

Credit Card Services, as of 02/19/13 - automated voice saying this is your last cancel to lower your credit card bill.

Hung up. Not the first time.

I believe from reading more on the Web that this is a phone phishing attempt to gain personal information about you.

Called me four times before 12:00pm! And mind you today is President's Day, a federal holiday, so businesses are NOT open. It's a scam. I told them if they don't stop calling me, I'll have them arrested. My husband is a cop and I can easily make this happen! They better stop.

Reporting these calls is a waste of time.  The FTC is an agency run by incompetents.  The call I just received was from ANNE at Card Services.   Look on the FTC site and they report great progress in stopping these idiots.  In fact, the telemarketers thumb their noses at the FTC.  I wrote my congressmen about this.  They contacted the FTC and got a letter bragging about how much the FTC does.  In reality the FTC is a waste of taxpayors money.   BJNJ

Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC.
Most of the inbound robo call numbers are spoofed, as most of the bolierhouses, both off and on shore, are using Voip SIP Trunks services. Throwaway DID numbers are also used. Some of the robocalling is operated by the end use scammers directly. Others are contract services who earn a referral fee once you are transferred to the scammers.

The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make millions of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

The banking system is also at fault here, without merchant accounts and ACH processing these criminals could not collect the scammed funds. Though the criminals use obfuscation, layered corporations, multiple bank accounts and offshore stashing, patterns of obvious fraudulent activity become apparent after a short time.
This is an all out attack from these scum suckers! EVERYONE should be reporting them everywhere that they can. Since this is an obvious attempt at identity theft the FBI should be forced to get involved. (Prosecute them in criminal court instead of civil penalties).

If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending the caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with their inability to stop these calls.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.

There is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how one company is getting away with this activity.

HBW leads on the caller ID . They call day and night. This is Peggy from accounts services its just like that commercial. Verizon can do nothing to stop this they offer a per number block that they bill for. I told them there are millions of choices for spoofed numbers they can't be blocked one at a time

Card Services! A company who claims they can lower your credit card rates. They call insessently...couple times a day, MANY times per week! There is nothing you can do or say! I just like to waste their time and I tell them I'm like 100,000$ in debt and they start drooling...I keep them on the phone till I get tired of it and then tell them how much I dislike them (in a not so friendly fashion) and hang up!
I've tried asking nicely for them to stop calling, tried being stern, tried being funny, tried not answering my phone. I've even tried blowing a whistle into the phone! It still doesn't help...NOTHING WORKS! They also call my land line which is awesome!

Obnoxious solicitation from credit card company who claims to be able to reduce interest rates on balances > $2500.00. When I told them I wanted a manager, the sales person hung up on me.  I am on the DNC list.

I receive numerous calls from this number daily.  This morning alone I received three in less than two hours!

When I recieve a call from this number it is a recorded message with a womens robotic voice saying " hello, I'm Ann from customer service, I am calling about lowering your credit card interest rate, this will be your last notice"..... Yeah last notice, ah, I think not!

I recieved this same message from a different phone number this week (263) 989-7373 and when I called the number back, the operator said this number is no longer a working number, that it was disconnected.   five minutes later this number called me again!  It was showing up as 'unavailable' not HBW LEADS, but it was the same message.  This is so frustrating!  I am on the DNC list too!

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com

In their own words:  'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their scam then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1.    Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
2.    Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone
3.    Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4.    Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5.    People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office
6.     Report any criminal activity to the FBI here:    https://tips.fbi.gov

Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations:     http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com
Please read the blog and report violations to the proper authorities.
