Who says leaving false telephone numbers on the caller ids of millions of people isn't worth doing??
tim 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
Senator Charles Schumer of New York is now interested in telemarketers that leave false numbers on caller ID's so all of you might want to tell him about your experiences. Mr Ran David Barnea of Boca Raton Florida---ARE YOU LISTENING YET?

RE: Scott Hadley
I am not associated with any telemarketing companies, you are.
I would not accuse another type of business with similar numbers, like a bank or a restaurant, but you run a telemarketing company so I do suspect you. I would suspect even if you are not the company responsible you are responsible for annoying outbound calls.
P.S. Oddly enough the annoying calls stopped after I posted this online.
Robyn 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
When you try to call these people BACK, it says this phone is no longer in service. Hmmmm. I guess only they are allowed to call and interrupt other peoples day. :)
Sia Whelden 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
When followed prompts to talk to someone they answered and I asked them to stop calling they hung up.
Ted 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
"Account Services" calling. I answered the call, was told by a recording that I hadn't responded to a mailed letter and I could lower my credit card rates. The recording told me to press 1 talk to an operator and get my rate lowered or press 2 to disconnect. I think you can press 2 on any sales call to be automatically taken off the list, but I felt energetic so I pressed 1. A woman came on the line and told me I was elible to have my rates lowered since I paid my credit card on time for 6 months...which is true of course. I asked what company she worked for and she told me they worked "with" 551 credit card companies around the country. She needed information from me to lower my rates on my Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. I told her I would like the info sent to me in the mail and she hung up on me. Obviously a scam to get your credit card info.
Kay 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
I keep getting these calls as well, I finally pressed 1 to speak to someone about lower rate...when they answered I asked if they could please remove my number..she said NO and hung up on me.
When I try to call the number back, I get recording saying its not in service.
mkt 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
I did not answer, they left no message
Long Island NY 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
This call is about lowering your credit card rates. I told the girl who called to take me off her calling list and she hung up on me! How rude!
I reported that number as I am on the do not call list.
I am so sick of these people. They call me twice a day. By the way, they also have another number they call from. It's a strange number but its them.
number: 1-062-232-2664 and comes up as Out of Area.

final call about car warranty extension
Chuck 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
This was another phone call saying that this was my "last chance" to lower my credit card rate--never mind that I had told them not to call me again by following their instructions to press 2. No caller name shown on caller ID.
junker 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
Same old car warranty time wasters. I always press 1 and wait for them to answer, and tell them I am wasting their time like they waste mine. If everyone did this, they would have no incentive to keep cold calling people.
Spider 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
Caller left no message. When I called the number, it said it was not in service at this time.
Joanne Robinson 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
got a call today and left no message
Scott Hadley @ Intercept 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
This is NOT originating from Intercept of Florida, Inc. The claim that the number is similar is not only wrong (accept for the first few digits), it's asinine. Two similar phone numbers can be the difference between a home residence and a business, that's common sense and common knowledge. Do not be fooled by the comment left by "CALL THEM BACK", we suspect that this is the VERY person/company that's perpetrating this false outbound call scam. The phone number is not apart of our organization nor belongs to any of our clientele. The phone number in fact is not in service upon calling it which means it's a ghost caller ID. Please contact your local telephone company and complain about this and they can run a trace back to whomever owns the 3522 number (whether it's in service or not) and deal with it from there.
susan 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
We received the same "last chance to lower your interest rate" call from this and 506-225-4566 within 2 hours. I pressed "1" with the second call so that I could tell them to put me on a do not call list. After holding on for awhile, I was disconnected.
California resident 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
Yeah, I pressed "1" asked to be removed and the gentleman says "Oh, you needed to press "2" and that would have taken care of that for you. He then hung up.
You know, they really need to re-instate the "No call list" and keep it going or else do a mass effort to crack down on all the scammers that have popped up now. IT'S ANNOYING!
Chris 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
They called about 1:00 pm here in California left no message they have done this before and i'm registered on the do not call list.
niki 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown
they called, i immediately called back, a recorded message said "they were not in service at this time"!
Mont 2011-06-06 20:44:04 Unknown

A RoboCall is a call that is anwered by a computer instead of a person when you pick up the receiver... these are illegal except for the government
4. What can I do if I receive a robocall that I think is illegal?
1) Call your local telephone company to file a complaint. You must give them the
name of who called and if possible the telephone number of the robocaller (it
may be provided in the message.)
2) Your telephone company will then tell the business that it is not following the law
and may give it some time to correct the problem.
3) If the business does not correct the use of the robocaller by the time given by the
telephone company, the telephone company can disconnect the phone line.
4) If you are not satisfied with the telephone company?s response to your robocall
complaint, you may contact the CPUC?s Consumer Affairs Branch by filing a
complaint online at http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/PUC/forms/Complaints/ or by
telephone at 1-800-649-7570 or in writing to:
California Public Utilities Commission

I've been on the Do Not Call Registry for years. Today is May 8, 2009, and I just got a hang-up call from 239-498-3522. The only other thing caller id says is Bonita Springs, FL.

These idiots call all the time. When I have the time I simply get a live person on the line and feed them false infomation untill they get tot the part where they want my credit card #. Then I get a not sure I want to give my cc# to a person who has called me without knowing for sure that it's not phone fraud, attitude. Can I speak to a supervisor? Stretch it out. You can also get as far along as you can with giving them fake info, then when they as for a cc#, say, um, "I just thought of something, will this affect my bankruptcy." So on and so forth. Tie em up and waste their time when you get the chance!! If you ever get a supervisor, tell them you are on the do no call list and they are breaking the law by continually calling. Then send off an email to the FTC. Good luck.
