This number called me at 9pm on Sunday. with a thick indian accent using my sister in laws maiden and asking to speak to my wife you her maiden name. I have allot of weird calls but never one so obiously lying to say the are some one ive known for year and who is not in anyway Indian and had her name changed 4 years ago.

Calls several times a day! Trying to annoy everyone.

i just got a call from 240-210-7142 when i called back it stated this call maybe monitored for quality control and training.. So i waited for it to connect... when a live person answered.. they asked for my captial one account number.. I aksed them to whom they were calling for a the collecting agent said he wasnt allowed to give out that information and then i stated i was not going to give out any account number to any one that did not tell to whom they were looking for..  said he was allowed to again..

this phone number for future reference belongs to NCO collection agency.. they have offices all over the county.. When i stated i use to work for them and knew all the laws they do business under he got real rude and hung if.. i told them until they gave me a name of who they were looking for the conversation was over... and to remove my number from being called again...

Got a call from this number and no message.  I don't answer any call I don't know the number and if no message left than they are not worth the time.  I suspect this is a collection agency that is simply cold calling because of a similar last name in the hope they can locate who they are really looking for.I have had this happen before.  They have nothing to link you with the debt they are trying to collect and are simply bugging you because they can't do the research.

i called back they're capital one credit ..they were looking for someone else sd it would take 72 hrs to activate no call list and said i would get one more call to confirm ;;wrong # ;;;;

i have never given my cell phone number out. i just got it in march 2011. they filled up my voicemail with hold music twice when i left my cell phone off (what i there was an emergency in the family ???) when i left my cell phone off. if i reject call they dont leave message. and i start my outgoing meassage with SIT tones. havent had a message in my cell voicemail when i not answer cell phone. in fact i have a ringtone that is silence. every now and then i see if someone IMPORTANT called. nope. just them. much more of this and i will get my cell phone number changed. i only use it for outgoing calls..i dont want to call from other than a pay phone and i cant find one anymore to tell em that there is no way the call is for me (in fact one caller asked for jah-el sp? ... not me !!!).  

cap one / nco - PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST !. (federal DNC list only applies to telemarketers. not collectors, political, or charities - why not a DO NOT CALL PERIOD LIST  ???)

i think, according to the FDCPA, it is illegal for debt collectors to call cell phones as it makes the amount owed higher having to spend cell phone $. basically it is making the debt more without going through proper legal channels, which is a no no. so tell them they are calling a cell phone and you think they are in violation of FDCPA since its costing money to talk to them.

btw: Once a debt passes beyond the statute of limitation in your state, a debt collector no longer has the right to sue you for payment. You may still have a moral obligation to pay back an old, forgotten debt, but you can't be sued over it. Any debt collector who threatens to sue you over a debt that is beyond the statute of limitation in your state is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

This call is automated.  They say to hang on for an important message and then either hangs up or puts you on hold.  I've reported it to the police.

They've called me 10 times in the last week. Three times I answered and they kept asking for someone I don't know. I keep telling them that...and they keep calling. If anyone knows how to stop these calls...please let us know!

I logged on to this website to check out this number because they called me three hours ago.  I listened to the message telling me that all agents are busy - twice!! - and then hung up.  Sure enough, while I was reading the posts here, my cell rang.  There they are again!  I ignored the phone.  We have no dealings with them so I don't know why they are calling.  They did not leave a voice mail. Yes, I am on the do not cal llist.T

I wish someone would do something about this D_ _ _ number and whoever is behind it. If this keeps up I will get an investigator to resolve this problem.

I GET THIS CALL EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS. SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CAPTIAL ONE ACCOUNT...I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE ONCE THEY SAID THEY WERE A DEBT CONSOLIDATION CO. THEY DON;T EVEN LEAVE A MESSAGE SO I KNOW THEY ARE BOGUS. HOW DO I STOP IT????

ok so im getting really frustrated with this! they just started calling yesterday and altogether they called around 10 times.

These people called morning, noon, and night every single day.  The couple of times I have answered, no one came on the line.  Now, I don't answer but the calls keep coming.  This has been going on since June 1, 2010 and it really needs to stop.  I'm about ready to change my phone number

I called and recorded the conversation. Told them to remove the number from their list, as that person does not live here any longer..let's see if that works.

This was a call to my direct line at a State agency.

I get at least 5 calls a day from this number, refuse to answer.  Answered once and it was recording asking me to hold on, so I hung up.

NCO has been ringing my number 5 or 6 times a day for the last 3 weeks, I answered once and told them I had no idea who the guy was that they are looking for, which I don't, they just keep calling and calling, usually start around 7 AM and continues all day until about 8PM.  I wish I knew what to do to stop these endless calls.

They call all hours of the day and night. no regard to weekday. The refuse to leave a message...

It is all to hokey.

They call ALL THE TIME, , 7 am 8:15 am, 11 am, 12 30 pm, 5 pm, 8:30 pm. This has been happening for almost a week now. I am in no way behind in my bills. They won't leave a message either it  is just outrageous.

This number calls everyday from 530am to 10pm. I don't answer because I don't know the number. Tired of being harassed.

So, I just called the number back, first time I tired, it was busy.  Second time, I got an actual person.  This person explained that the phone number has been listed as a reference for a capital one card application by my brother.  They asked me if I knew the person.  I said "NO", then said "you have been given a false phone number, I have no idea who "Matt" is and that I want my number to be removed from your call list."  She asked me a couple of other questions, like how long I've had the number etc" but she said she would have my number removed from the list.  Thankfully, she was very polite about it.

Try doing something like that- call it back until you get a person to speak to.  Tell them you have no idea who the person is, and that you think they have been given false information.  Worked for me...

I got a call from this number too and do have a Capitol one credit card with no balance. I called Capitol one and confirmed I have a no balance and no past due payments. They also confirm that they are not affiliated with this firm.

Thankfully, I have an option on my cell Pune that puts these calls directly to voice mail and ignores it.

YOU ALL NEED TO CONTACT THE PENNSYLVANIA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE, FILE A COMPLAINT ONLINE WITH ATTORNEY GENERAL.  (THEY WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU)  
THIS COMPANY IS CALLING FAMILY, FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND HARASSING ANYONE AND EVERYONE.  PLEASE CALL AN ATTORNEY AND SUE THEM ALSO.   PA ATTORNEY GEN IS GOING TO SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN!  TAPE RECORD ALL CONVERSATIONS TO THEM WHEN YOU CALL THEM BACK!  DO CALL THEM BACK!  ADVISE THEM THEY HAVE THE WRONG #, WRONG PERSON, ETC.

This number has repetitively called me, I ignored it the first few times and googled it and came to this forum. It recently started up again and I answered. I get the message "Please hold to hear an important message, wait a moment all our associates are busy at the moment..." They called me, why should I hold for their phone call, I hung up. I want to block this number.
