This number called me and impersonated the police.  They are attempting to collect a debt that I NEVER HAD.  SCAM ARTISTS.  Goolge Litigation Consulting Service LLC and you will see the same.  I have reported to the FBI, FCC, FTC, and several other agencies.

A 'claims investigator', Jack Claus, called me from this number.  He left a message on my answering service to call him back concerning 'RBD 9342' affidavit civil claim against me.  I called him back and asked him what "RBD" stood for.  He did not know.  I told him I was going to report him to the FBI (which I did) for his scam call across state lines.  He promptly hung up when I asked for his name again.

This number is an absolute scam.  I called the FBI and they said they are absolute scam artists.  Don't listen to anything those idiots say.  They will tell you they are going to send the sheriff and all this other crap.  Don't believe a word they say.  I bet that first comment telling you pay is one of them.  The FBI agent said you would want to see a credit report first.  They said they have no paper work and don't work through the mail.  They got a hold of old info. that is resolved and are trying to collect on it.  GET A JOB BUMS!  There are about four or five of them involved.  They are also pretty rude.  The good thing is the Lord will deal with them when the time comes.

Call left on answering machine from a Jack DuPree (?) on Fri Aug 29th.  Calling a Richard ??????? (not me or anyone I know) and said that he was Jack DuPree (sp?), a civil claims investigator and the Richard was named as a party in claim number HBR17??.  The claim was throughly investigated and that [Richard] needed to call him at 240-235-5615 before 48 hrs or the claim would be filed in ??? County Court and a warrant would be issued for [Richard's] arrest.

Now this message was left on Fri morning of the Labor Day weekend, so there was no way that it could be answered and/or filed within 48 hrs.

These lowlife criminals called my sisters, brothers and ex brother-in-laws house within an hour.  Claimed I will be put in jail if I  didn't return their call within 48 hours.  I did return the call the same evening and got a message that did not sound professional and no company name.  That is when I googled the number and got pissed.  I did call  back them back and gave them a piece of my mind (of course no answer).  I have already registered a complaint at the KS and MD Attorney Generals website.  I can not believe this scam has been going on this long!

Glad you guys realized they were scam artists before they got any money out of you. They're a bunch of crooks --  They go by a variety of names and phone numbers -- some of the names they use include Global Asset Investigations, Worldwide Recovery Services, Worldwide Asset Investigation Services and North American Asset Investigation Bureau (NAAIB). Last year they were operating out of Cleveland, OH, until they were shut down -- the Cleveland BBB named them as one of the top ten scams of 2007: http://cleveland.bbb.org/WWWRoot/SitePage.asp ... b91931&art=1377
You can get more info here: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/NAAIB.htm.
They will probably continue using this MD number until they get shut down again, then start using a new area code, but the MO is always the same: they call and identify themselves in a way that implies they are either working for a lawyer, the court system, or the police department (all of these misleading statements are illegal); tell you that there has been a civil case filed against you, they give you a case number, and tell you that you must contact them before a warrant is sworn out against you. When you contact them, they tell you that they are investigating a debt that is 10, 12, 15 or so years old; they'll name some bank you've never heard of, or a credit card you've never heard of. They'll have just enough information about you to make you nervous and they'll be phishing to find out more information. They'll tell you that the debt is some ridiculous amount -- let's say $10,200 for an example -- but if you're willing to pay today, they'll reduce it to, for example, $650. But they can't give you an address. Instead, they will ask for your bank account or credit card number. They'll tell you that if you don't settle on the phone with them that moment, a sheriff will appear at your door within 48 hours to arrest you. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. Complaints have been filed to the AG of OH, MD, TX, NY, and IL, as well as to the FTC, FCC, and the FBI (as they are trying to illegally extort money over the phone). They often target the elderly and infirm. Do not speak with them, and save whatever messages they leave on your phone. If you get a phone call, file a complaint online with the following organizations:
http://www.oag.state.md.us/Consumer/complaint.htm
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
as well as the Attorney General of your own state. Remember: whether the debt is yours or not, you should not be dealing with these people. They are not a legitimate organization.

PLEASE -- file a report. You were smart and savvy enough to do research on this number; not everyone is that lucky. REPORT THEM!!!

240-235-5615  This is absolutely a scam.  I emailed the FBI about it they called back in a matter of minutes and said it was a scam.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO.  They told me they were called Litigation Consultant Services.  They call themselves Special Agents ... and then they have some case number they give you.  The one lady Phyllica is rude.  I mean if you're going to try and scam someone you shouldn't be soooooooo rude.  If it sounds off it probably is.

Same here....owe money, credit card, yadda yadda yadda. Was told I would be served and that I was not to have any large dogs or weapons in my home...so much for civil rights.
I've emailed the DOJ and the Maryland Attorney General's Office.
Unfortunately, I do not beleive I will have the chance to interact with these folks personally, bummer.
Concerning, though, they had my ssn, address, etc...they are making rules to a game they really do not want to play.
Contact FEDERAL Authorities, File Complaints, and if they are for real, well, we'll handle our business HOWEVER if they are truly scammers, then we really need to handle business.

I GET THESE SAME TACTICS ALL THE TIME AND RECENTLY THE SAME MESSAGE YOU GOT.    THIS COLLECTION AGENCY CONTACTED YOU BY PHONE FIRST AND NOT BY LETTER......THAT WAS THEIR FRIST MISTAKE.    GOING TO COURT.......LMAO...IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN, YOU WOULD GET SERVED WITH PAPERS AND NOT A PHONE CALL.   YOU NEED TO SEND THEM A CERTIFIED LETTER ASKING THEM THAT YOU NEED VERIFICATION THAT THIS DEBT IS YOURS.    THAT WILL SHUT THEM UP REAL QUICK.

I'M GETTING READY TO CALL SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR BILL ADAMS (WHO ALMOST FORGOT HIS LAST NAME ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE) AND I AM GOING TO PHUCK WITH HIM BIG TIME.    I WILL MENTION THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS BEING EXPIRED AND TELL HIM TO TAKE ME TO COURT...I AM GOING TO BEG HIM TO TAKE ME TO COURT WHILE I TELL HIM HE'S DIK SUCKER LOSER!!!!!      ITS ALL ABOUT INTIMIDATION AND GETTING THE UPPER-HAND.

You may also want to report this to the other law enforcement links listed in my message above from April 3.  I should add the U.S. Secret Service to that list since they are responsible for investigating crimes relating to the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems. You can call your local Secret Service field office and alert them to this scam. Here's the link listing the Secret Service's field offices: http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml

If these people are truly debt collectors, they have made several violations the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).  Not identifying who they work for, posing as attorney's when they are not, making legal threats, etc.

Worse, they may be scam artists trying to secure your personal info to sell it to someone else.  Criminals.

Report them to the authorities (Consumer Protection Agency, Attorney General, BBB, etc.) Read up on Debt Collection law and practices with a Nolo Law book, or some other good source at your local library.

It is illegal for them to chase you for a debt you already paid off, they must know their chances of collecting more money are slim, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is a Identity Theft operation.

It's a scam. They go by various names such as MoreStar Consultancy, LLC; Litigation Consulting Service, LLC; Claims & Warrants; and North American Asset Investigation Bureau, LLC (NAAIB). Read consumer advocate Bud Hibbs' report on these scammers for details: http://budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/NAAIB.htm  (Note the mention of "Daniel Hoffman" in Bud's report.)

Don't pay these crooks a penny. Ignore their threats and report their attempts to extort money from you to these federal and state law enforcement agencies:

1) The FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov

2) Ohio Attorney General  http://www.ag.state.oh.us/citizen/consumer/complaints.asp  (MoreStar claims to be in Cleveland)

3) Maryland Attorney General  http://www.oag.state.md.us/Consumer/complaint.htm  (Litigation Consulting claims to be in Maryland)

4) Your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.naag.org

5) Federal Trade Commission  https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

If they call back, tell them that they aren't getting any money from you and that you've reported their scam to federal and state authorities. They will react with the usual moronic, false threats.  If possible, try to save any voice messages they leave and, if legal in your state, record their calls if you speak with them.(Inexpensive phone recorders are available at Radio Shack-type stores.)

Hope this helps.

This is a scam company. They use to be North American Assett Investigation Bureau then they were More Star LLC and now they claim to be Litigation Consuting Services. Daniel Hoffman goes by at least three or four different names. I think its only 4 to 5 people who work here, This is a residential phone.

I returned their phone calls and have spoken with many different names, here they are John Stern, Peter Hunter, Daniel Hoffman, Bob Young, Dennis Bell and none of them will give me any information about who they work for.  This was a month ago and they threatened to send papers to our house if we did not speak with them about this debt that we know we paid off 4 years ago.  It is a scam and if anyone can get them to talk...we need to know who it is they are working for...their corporate identify.
