I just got a phone call from this number and after reading these posts I'm a little concerned, I answered and the call ended I was confused so I looked it up to see if it was a misdial but I can see now its not

This number calls numerous times per day and night and if I answer it is just slience.  When I call back it just says it is a disconnected number or just gives a busy signal.   So to stop this I just blacklisted the number.  I mean are they just calling to see how much they can push someone before they retaliate?

Why do you think it is Verizon?

I get a call from this number everyday and when I answer they hang up. The caller ID reads Bruce Denhart, I found him on Facebook and sent him a message to stop calling me  or I will call the police in Maryland. His FB page states he attended school for the blind and deaf. Sometimes it comes up as Warren Poe. This has got to be some kind of scam or the IRS. There must be a way I can block this number. Anyone have any suggestions?

Receive calls about twice a day maybe 3 times per week.  Calling on phone I now have set up for business.  People before me that had number apparently had debt issues as I receive numerous calls for other name.  This caller will call and when I answer with my business name will not say anything and just hangs up.  When calling back the number I get that it is not in service.

Same message as most of those above. I spoke to the caller Bruce Denhart and he said I owed Verizon money which I don't. This is definitely a collection agency so they have to give you the information and reason they are calling.

how do they have my number? they keep calling me and im only 13 so i dont owe them money they owe me money because they waste my minutes. they wake me up in the middle of the night i hate them. please somebody get them to stop they call when im at school and i get into trouble i didnt do anything for them to do this my mom said that i shouldnt answer it but i want to just to tell them that im just a kid and its a boost prepay so i dont owe them so they stink like poop

15 calls in one week.  4 in 1 day!!! Who are these jerks.  I have called the number back - told them to remove the number from their call list.  I think it is carry over from Hosea Vasques who owned my cell number before I got it.  Have resolved 2 other numbers that kept calling-but can't fix this one.  Evidently Hosea had alot of unpaid bill issues!  But I have a pay as you go plan and these calls are costing me money!!!!!!  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...........................

Hey check this out...The advertisers fro this page are AT&T & an attorney to hire to help with harrassing calls. Lot's of people posting to to blame it on Verizon (who i despise btw) what do you think the odds are that these calls are made to get people to google the # then come here to complain about it??? I'll bet it's a big set up to drive hits to this site. F****rs.

They call my home three times a day and hang up.  It is becoming a big problem because my husband woks third shift and he is a boss in the coal mines he is responsible for other men's lives not just his own the coal mines is not a safe place to be in if you haven't had enough sleep. omg  you are putting peoples life at risk just for a stupid prank.

I just found an xml file that may be the root of the cause and the websites and phones that may be responsible for whats going on here. First thing you need to know is that XML was designed to transport and store data.

Maybe it is a little hard to understand, but XML does not DO anything. XML was created to structure, store, and transport information.It has sender and receiver information, it also has a heading and a message body.But still, this XML document does not DO anything. It is just information wrapped in tags. Someone must write a piece of software to send, receive or display it.
So what I'm trying to say is that whoever is doing what we are all experiencing is doing it via the internet using the sites or site in the xlm file. They may also be using a website that has a phone application like gmail which doesn't have incoming sevice though it does show a callback number.I'm not 100% sure but maybe the website owner doesn't know that a sub website is being used to do this annoying crap.Or maybe there is no sub website and the owner does know what hes doing. I didn't go through all the xml file or tried to connect to any of the sites because I wanted to let you guys see this .xml file Ill go back to check out the websites from another computer incase its infected or something and then I'll be back if I find anything.

Go to the office of the attorney general for your state. Add your name to the do not call list. If you are already on that list file a complaint against this number. If you are over  60 years old and a victim of unsolicited calls and are on the national do not call list they will fine the caller anywhere from 1000 to 6000 dollars

Calls every damn day, damit I'm really sick and tired of this sh-t I wish I had a virus I could send to them. Can't the Operator do anything like turn off their servive? or maybe give us the name and location of who it may be? They hang up all the time or just stay there doing nothing when I answer the phone. Lord they don't know or have an idea or the slightest clue that I would really give whoever it is a real horrific a** kicking if I were to ever find out where they live.

I'm very up set that my son continue to get calls from this number. For months now all hours of day. I'm getting very up set.

Is there a law like that in Michigan??? If no, we need to make one. I'm calling MI AG's office on them tomorrow. I suggest you all do the same in your state

If you are getting these calls from 240-241-7111 and you live in Virginia, report them to the police and to the phone company with a list of the dates and times they called but no one was on the line.

Criminal Code of Virginia:
18.2-429 - Causing telephone to ring with intent to annoy
Any person who without intent to converse but with intent to annoy any other person, causes any telephone not his own to ring, and any person who permits or condones the use of any telephone under his control for such purpose shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor.

Oh, and it doesn't matter whether or not they are spoofing the CID.  If they're in the US, a subpoena will take care of that nonsense.  If they're offshore, I'm out of luck, and will just block the number.

It can't be a collection agency for Verizon.  I have been a Verizon customer since before they changed their name to Verizon.  I don't owe them money.  I've paid my bills on time forever.  But I am going to complain to the local magistrate about this 240-241-7111 about ringing my phone.  Somebody's going to jail.

I got a call from this number today answered it once. The man said he was tryin to collect a debt from Verizon and wanted to set a payment plan up. Told him I was not able to at this time. He proceeded to tell me to "Get a job and pay my bills" Now he keeps calling and letting it ring twice then hanging up. He woke my kids up!

I called Verizon.. This is NOT an collection agency for them. I spoke to both a rep with Verizon wireless as well as regular Verizon

Received phone call yesterday ans again today.  Rings serveral time but I do not pick up, no message left.  I have Verizon wireless and after reading the post will discuss with them in person and repost thier response.

My question to you is:  What are you doing about these harassing calls ?  No sense registering a complaint if nothing ever happens to these people.

Phone rings and has a very poor connection.  Sounds as if it is a party line.  It is a collection outfit harassing me about someones past due account.  They hang up before I can answer them

I have no idea who this is but it only rings about 3 times.  Been happening for a month so I finally answered, and nothing.
