I received the same call from a man named "Sam" who sounded like he was from India or Pakistan.  Instead of typing the message on my computer that he wanted me to, I wrote it down.  I told him that I would not comply with his request until I talked to my computer literate son.  I also told him that I would not obey his request because I did not know him or his employer and for all I knew, he would transfer all my computer info to someone else.  He hung up!!!!!  How stupid do they think we are?

I got the same call from an Non-English speaking person.  It was extremenly difficult to understand other than about errors I had been receiving on my compuer.  He hung up after stating that he would have his supervisor call me when he was available as I couldn't understand most of what he was stating as his foreign accent was so bad.  Possibly from India???

Thank you.  Glad my husband didn't follow this mans directions.  LOL, when I don't recognize a number I don't even answer-if it's important they will leave a message.

It IS a scam - Microsoft does NOT call you about alleged problems with your computer, nor do they contract out work to other companies.  Microsoft technicians would only call you if YOU had sent them a ticket online or called them yourself.

YES this is a scam!  There are tons of complaints/reports on this website and elsewhere about this scam.  They are criminals trying to steal your personal information.  Do not talk to them at all or give them access to your computer!

I'm not really sure if this was a scam call or not, that's why I checked here.  The gentleman (foreign speaking) told my husband that he was calling about our computer, windows had detected something and needed to be checked or updated.  He asked my husband to go to the computer and sign on.  At that point my husband wait a minute everything with our computer is fine and we have current up to date anti virus software.  Then he started talking and my husband said no thanks and hung up.

Seeing that no one else has posted about this number makes me wonder now, but really we aren't having any issues with our computer.
