We got same text info with London address (32 Leabank Square, London,e9 5lr England) & how he's buying gift for in-law crap, in response to an ad for a $650 iPad, but he/she used a different phone number than shown in the other posts here. The number used today is: (341) 458-6091.
These scammers are surely using phone cloning software to make people think it's their numbers, - but I'd bet they are all CLONED PHONE NUMBERS belonging to innocent people, who are completely unaware that their numbers are being used in these scams.
They can also be trying to gather VALID EMAIL ADDRESSES to use in scams, so beware of sending yours out. You can CREATE A NEW ONE JUST FOR ONLINE SALES.
The email address they used today is: BABYJERRY331@gmail.com.
Here are other phone numbers & email addresses used this week by scammers:
(646) 736-2542; (646) 397-2475; (201) 464-0635.
Email: LUGGARDMIKE265@gmail.com - and- HOLLAURNELSON@yahoo.com.

Larry Hilton wanted to buy my boat on kijiji as well and he lives in england so on and so forth. I played along and asked him if he wanted the winter tires for the boat and the block heater . He said yes he would like everything intact. Very insistent on using pay pal . Same horrible typing and spelling. You would think these scammers would at least use spell check

got the exact same original email. I immediately suspected that it was a scam. looked up the address "he" provided and found this site.
His new name is Larry Hilton and email is laryhilton1@gmail.com. When my husband replied to him, he insisted on paypal. then my husband emailed him back, stating that he would contact paypal to inquire about this. "Larry" responded and seemed quite defensive and listed a slew of reasons why paypal is "legit". Hopefully not many people have fallen for this scam. english and grammar are not this scammer's forte!

Just posted a car ad on kijiji. looked up the # 240-406-9281. this is the 3rd # in less than 2hrs of my posted ad. this particular # asked me if my vehicle is still available and asked that I email marrylinda602@yahoo.com. i just replied that the vehicle is sold. i also removed my phone # from the ad.
The other 2 texts came from 406-359-1566 email melody.cruise@yahoo.com with verbatim request as the above. Exact same texting! & 917-410-1256 asked if the car was still available, asked the condition, thanked me for answering the text, asked if I have paypal. He stated that he was happy with the car price and condition and that he will be sending a shipping company to pick up the car and he will pay through paypal. I told him I only deal with face to face. He asked why. i explained that I am not comfortable with this and I know people in law enforcement. He then offered to pay via bank transfer. I thanked him for his interest and declined any further dealings with him. The other texts from different #'s followed shortly thereafter.
thanks for sharing your stories. At least we can check online. Always deal face to face. It is a shame there are scammers out there...

I got the same txt and email today with a car I had on Kijiji...
These people are weak...and pathetic...
Seriously who is dumb enough to fall for this..??
| Chad 2012-02-09 04:38:42 Unknown |
Here's the bottom line of the scam - as per his email to me after stringing him along quite a bit. See below.
"I was just about to make the payment when i had this little problem with the picking up,I got an email from my agent..i thought i included
that in my previous email.he said he won't come and pick up the item unless i pay him the agent commission fee first in order to be able to
schedule a pick up time ,and my pick up agent head quarters is in the United Kingdom and all commission payments made for pick up, from
anywhere in the world is sent to their head quarters in the Uk and the only form of payments they accept is western union money transfer and
i tried to pay online but i will need a credit card which i didn't bring along, and there is no post office(there is usually a western
union section in most post offices) or any western union agent offshore! so i have to ask you to help me with the pick up fees, i
will include the $1,700 they charged to pick it up and take it my to home(1st class treatment), to the payments i will send through paypal
after i have made the payments, i will need you to help me send the $1,700 to my pick up agent through western union money transfer, the
western union money transfer can be made at a post office near to you, there is always a western union agent in most post offices or
online at www.westernunion.com .i wait for your response so i can proceed with the payment"
THIS GUY HAS ALOT OF NERVE! This is all after I gave him my address of our RCMP (police) headquaters her in Winnipeg & an email address of info@antifraudcentre.ca (National Anti Fraud Centre in Canada).
