As in all the previous comments I just read....this guy is psycho!!  I met him on POF also and once we exchanged numbers he became very weird.  Always saying he was going out of town but when he came back he'd like to meet.  After a couple times of this I told him to leave me alone.  I received a few texts after that randomly over the next few months then it seemed to stop.  That was a year ago. TODAY....I received a text from him asking me if I wanted to meet for a drink tomorrow.  I didn't have the number saved in my phone anymore so I asked who it was.  He said we met on POF a year ago.  That's when I googled his number and saw all the comments.....and my memory came back!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY...DEFINITELY SOMETHING NOT RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!

He is such a pervert. Apparently he emails or texts different women constantly, telling the same story that he will relocate and wants to meet women in different places. His first name is David, last name starts with D, He may live somewhere in Ivy Way, Frederick, MD 21701. I was wondering how to help other women know this and make him stop all the crap, report to police?

yep, this guy name is david. I meet him on pof abt a year ago. We exchange emails and later numbers. After awhile I got tired of his games. I stoped all contact hoping he got the hint. He would text once in a while asking to meet. I never bothered to reply back. He just texted me a few days ago out of the blue (after a year long silence) telling me that he will be around my city on july 4th weekend, looking for places... I didn't bother to reply back. This guys is weird, psycho and need to get off dating sites! Beware of this guy!

This is a psycho, sex addict. He said he is a consultant in DC with a master's degree and plans to relocate to NYC. He hides his profile in POF, he claims he is 39 years old, and approaches women with an unclear picture. He claims he does not do multiple dating, but once he gets your phone number, he starts to text you, not call often. Later, his text messages are all sexual content. I searched this number, there is no name attached to it.

240-409 is a wireless exchange in Frederick, MD but CallerID numbers can be spoofed so these calls might have originated outside of MD.
Several posters report they were addressed by name so I cannot agree with your suggestion that "you have forgotten, or changed phones." Unless all suffered memory loss, it's unlikely that all had forgotten; some might have but certainly not all. That several were addressed by name greatly reduces the probability that this is a changed-number problem.
Posters report calls on 800notes to warn others of problematic callers and not "to help them remove your number from their list." In my experience, asking nicely to have your number removed only works a small percentage of the time.

Note for all 240 numbers:  These numbers are all suburban maryland, near washington DC.  Most of the exchanges are open to both private parties, and also businesses.  This area code is available to all carriers without restriction.

Most of these carriers are likely cell numbers, not land-lines.  If a person does contact you from one of these numbers, and you do not know who they are, it is likely that you have forgotten, or changed phones.  If so, simply ask them who they are.  Be prepared to also identify who you are, or they would not be able to remove you from their phone (if that is your intent).  It is also quite possible that the person sending the message sent it to a group, and not to just one individual.  So, simply ask to be removed from their list.  Logging information here will do little to help them remove your number from their list.  Simply text them politely, and ask them to remove you.

Dude, you should keep your phone number private.  If crazy girls get your number and you have rejected them in the past, then will just use it to smear you.  Better off just keeping your number to your closest friends.

Hi, anonymous. As you noticed someone is running a hate campaign against 800notes and me personally. We must have angered them by refusing to remove certain content. Thanks fro being alert. http://800notes.com/arts/faq

I googled around and the few sites I found repeat the content of your posted link over and over again so, on the surface, it appears to be a smear campaign. What's troubling to me is posters on your link do not say they've reported alleged organized extortion to the police, especially outraged who has allegedly left 800notes employment and hence be immune from possible retaliation. It's generally easy to tell positive from negative posts but impossible to tell between true and false posts and your "Anybody would have to be pretty naive or stupid to believe any comments written on anybody's number here" alludes to this "truthy-ism." Accordingly, you dismiss Mary's post as false but the same logic should apply to your post as well - why should anyone believe your post or the posts on your supplied link? How do I know that you aren't the subject of Mary's post himself, posing as "Karen," to refute Mary's allegation? How do you choose which posts to believe?

Mary,
This website itself is the problem.  We have all received calls or texts from people when we didn't invite them.  Big deal, right?  But, it seems some people just use this when they have an axe to grind, or for defamation of somebody's character?  In fact, this site, 800notes, is in fact being run by a scam artist.

Anybody would have to be pretty naive or stupid to believe any comments written on anybody's number here.  I am sure your ex's have bad things to say about you too right?  I am sure guys who have been rejected by you would love to post information under YOUR number, right?  Don't be so sensitive and don't take rejection from a guy so personally.  Instead of making him seem weird, it is you that seems affected.  That is my advice to you.

hi ladies,

this guy (yes its a guy), whom i met online-is a psycho, weirdo--whatever you want to call it- whether he is single, married, or in a relationship.  unfortunately, he is a real guy as i spoke with him once and thank GAWD i never met him in person!

vocally, he sounds fine on the phone, however, character-wise, he was not too forthcoming about things and quite evasive...which leads me to believe....he's a LOSER..and since then i've been ignoring his calls and text after a span of a year or so.  (and YES he still texts, once again affirming that he is a LOSER and PSYCHO).  u think he would get the picture!  ewwwww!  i hope he googles his own phone number and finds this comment--maybe this will stop him in his tracks.....

...ahhh..the joys of internet dating..every once in a while..u gotta run into one of these freaks!

I received a text from this number and I am not sure who it is.  But then again, I give my number out to a lot of guys when they ask for it, so I suppose it could be legit.
