I just received a text from this number asking me to reply with my email address if my car is still available.  I just read all of your comments about this person.  I won't be doing business with him/her.  Thanks!

Same issue, got a call text from 240-487-9374, this Dave that he couldnt, text because of poor reception and I needed to give him my e-mail, so I did, then I looked this up and found out lots of us are getting prank texts and calls from Dave, he is not nice. Good people like us just trying to move on our items and jerks like Dave giving all this a bad rep. I wish the Police could do something!

I always put local transactions only, no PayPal.  Scammers don't really care.  But at least you can assume they're scammers if they don't read your instructions.  Of course the deperate attempt to get your PayPal info is always a dead give away too.

contacted me about furniture for sale on Craig' s List. Looks like scammer to me

First off, pianos are VERY hard to sell right now. There are thousands of them being junked every day. Victim of digital music. Craigslist & Kijiji are fine. Just put LOCAL - CASH in your ad. NO TEXTS will get rid of a lot of the scammers. Common sense as well. If you get the "Marine scientist at sea, who wants to send it to their cousin in Nigeria". You get the idea.

I placed an ad yesterday on Cragslist and Ebay trying to sell my piano. Received a text from this number today asking that I reply to them via email and their email address is: davealan10@gmail.com.  Sounds like this is another scam. Makes me really not what to use Ebay or Craigslist because these seem to be the only people who respond to my ad.

recieved a text from this number regarding the purchase of my car i have listed on kijiji and t email him. he provided me with the email davealan10@gmail.com.  i emailed back to him saying that there was someone else coming to look at it for now and i do not want to use pay pal, cash only!. i have not heard back from him yet. i have recieved 2 other email/texts from people wanting to buy my car but only through pay pal and they live out of the country so they will buy it sight un seen. who does that? nobody i'd think. expeciallly because i am only selling my car for $1900 and then the one was going to ship it to himself. i'm pretty sure you could find a car where you are for less that full price and shipping somthing across the world.  both phone numbers originate from (240) maryland usa, but one said that he lived in london england.
