This is an automated call, but when I called back, some guy with a heavy accent answered. I said to take us off their call list. He hung up on me.
The caller ID is BANKCO.
Isn't this illegal as of Sept. 1???? Who do we need to notify to fine these asshats?

Was adding this number to my every-growing list of telemarketers and noticed an entry under credit card terminal scams that lists Eliot Management Group as the company calling...though they didn't robocall us- real people called through these numbers:
512.652.0606
801.413.0033
801.994.4800
Maybe it's the same company and they outsourced the calls to the same call center that does the credit card scam?

The scam is to get small businesses to pay these con-artists 10 times the price, or more, that they normally would for a credit card terminal. They often pretend to be Quickbooks, but this time the minion that answered when I pressed 1 answered "Financial mumble-mumble". I asked, "what did you say?" and she hung up. I don't know if anyone has actually gotten a terminal or service from these criminals, but they've certainly gotten invoices for thousands of dollars! This scam has been going on for at least 3 years now.
I have a suspicion these crooks are the very same that are doing the "credit services" credit card debt scam, because, like the fake "Bank Stress Test Act" that the robo call recordings for "credit services" mention to try to convince you they're government-sanctioned, this robo call talked about a "Merchant Relief Act" which is also a totally bogus piece of legislation.
