These people call.. & are persistant ....get a call blocker as I did .....from Amazon or e bay  ..once you log in their number it will block them from calling, at worst your phone rings one then hangs up on these a***s. yay!

Called me today. 6/16/2014@4:13 pm pacific time.  Private Caller.  Didn't leave a message.

Once from Augustus Aikins, I didn't answer.  Today from Area Code 240, from American Veterans Association or something similar, said the call was being recorded?  Rude, spoke right over the top of me when I asked for literature.  I told him I'd like to know the name of his Association so I could research it and if I found it to be legitimate I would consider donating to them.  He said something extremely rude regarding my character and hung up on me.  

Rang as "private name" ....and was dead air. Getting tired of these!!!

Caller said he was with some Veterans Support assistance.  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!  If they were legit they would identify themselves on caller ID.  support your local veterans organizations!

Calls  a few times a week. Never have answered, but it's still annoying. Thanks to all of you who have posted - then I can be sure it's nothing important!

Like an idiot I answered the phone. In my defense I was expecting a call back from a contractor named Gus and thought it was him. It seemed like a very strange robo-call-- or an extremely sophisticated one. At the beginning it said that the call was being recorded for quality assurance. He was hustling for some veteran's association. The man addressed me as ma'm and sounded like he was reading from a script. When I asked if this was a real person speaking, the voice said that it had been recorded to assure quality. It must be programmed to recognize certain key words because it had responses to several things I said. Oh, brave new world.... and creepy. CID said AUGUSTU AIKINS.

I just wonder why these folks seem to be so much smarter than anyone else and nobody can stop them. What they are doing is illegal, so why can't some super smart person sabotage them? I agree with the person who recommended the Digitone call blocker. I just bought the Digitone plus which has even more room to block the bad guys. My first one ran out quickly at 80. I tried the Panasonic phones but blocked calls still ring once and has limited space. This makes me crazy as I know many others as well. Just a shame that there isn't anything that can be done. Obviously the DNC list is useless. Just provides them with numbers to call. One begins to wonder if it's even worth having a phone since the scammers outnumber the calls you want.

Buy a Digitone call blocker. Just block the area code (240) or better still block ALL calls except for an approved caller list that you set up. Well worth the hundred bucks or so.

He called me saying he was from the Veteran's Association and was fundraising. I told him I already donate and he interrupted me saying his records didn't indicate that. When I told him that interrupting me wasn't a good idea he hung up. I called back to see how he answered the phone and he just said hello. Total scam!

He called me, though now he's trying to disguise himself -- it came through as "Private Caller" with his number in the readout.  Ha!  Caught!

This creepy man, Augustus Aikins is pretending to be anything he can dream up and calling a LOT of people in search of gullible people he can victimize.   Obviously he doesn't know  some people are on to him and are reporting him.  Or if he does, he doesn't care.  (He tries to buy cars you might post for sale, he pretends to be the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and other familiar charitable organizations, he even impersonates police officers saying he knows you purchased prescriptions from Canada too, he'll also send texts to cell phones.)  The saddest part is, it sounds like he's been doing this for a while and if that's true, it's because he's hit enough successful targets to make it worth continuing.  This guy needs to be brought down and soon so no one else is hurt buy him.

I have gotten several calls from 240-566-5072, with an anonymous ID.

This number showed anonymous on caller id I didn't answer they didn't leave a message has to be a scam of some kind.

Who are these people who call your home randomly.  The name Augustus Aikens shows up.  I don't answer my phone.

This number called at 8:57 pm. Caller id says private name. Did not answer. Has called several times I never answer. I hate these annoying calls.

Mr.Augustus Aikins:  Here is my suggestion:  Why don't you just get a real job and stop calling my number. You have called me numerous times.   I am never going to answer your call.  You are wasting my time and yours.  If you try, you may be able to get a job that is more profitable and doesn't irritate people all the time.  Good luck!

Got a call from this number displaying the name as "Augustu Aikins".  Did not pick up the phone.

It is a scam.  Those people stink.  They keep calling and leave no message--real scammers of the worst sort!
