What was their charge for the software?

Just received a call in PA from this number.  Shows it's based out of NY.  Don't know it, presuming same as the other notes here.  2 years ago, I sat through a Vocus "free ipod" for listening shpiel over the phone.  Chose not to move forward, never received the ipod, have been solicited at least 10 times since.  

Have contacted several times and have been told we will contact them if services are required, so there is no need to contact. Discontinued answering calls and was recently treated to a voicemail message in which the caller was simply playing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXhBcq9XlwI in the background. Highly unprofessional for the type of service they're representing. Who are these people?!

These people are like cockroaches at a picnic...when you get the first call the floodgates open and you'll get multiple calls every day.  When I was in Atlanta it was not uncommon to get SIX calls a day during my eight-hours shift.  (God only knows how many called my co-workers fielded!)  

Don't bother asking for a supervisor...it won't stop them.  I can't tell you the number of times I spoke to Julie Holley and ORDERED them to stop calling.  Never made a difference.

So...do what I finally did:  Email directly to company founder Rick Rudman at rrudman@vocus.com  If they don't stop I will take the next step and call the appropriate law enforcement agency and file a criminal complaint.

This company's phone calls are abusive and counter-productive to your ability to perform your job or operate your company.  Time to stop them once and for all.

This is Vocus/PR Web calling to get you to sign up for their press release service.  We used a competitor several months ago to issue a press release.  This company monitors that, and then calls you and calls you to try to get you to switch and use their services.  If we are interested, we would call them!

Vocus just won't stop calling. Make that they won't stop calling and emailing. Our company isn't interested in their product, yet they won't leave us alone.

Received ANOTHER call as well and have asked them to stop that I am not interested. Hopefully that works,

they call every day sometimes 2x and 3x a day  no message

I finally asked them to put me on their "no call" list, which legally they are suppose to stop calling. I continue to get calls. Honestly, at one point considered buying their service but am glad I did not. I do not want to be a part of a company that calls relentlessly. Plus, they eventually hired foreign companies to make their calls and I could not understand him at all with the very heavy accent.

ITS A BIG WASTE OF OUR TIME FOR THESE SPAMMERS TO KEEP CALLING. WE SHOULD HANG THEM ALL  IF YOU THINK ITS FUNNY YOU MUST WORK FOR THEM

THIS belongs to a business in Maryland, called Focus.  Is a PR WEBsite firm who does SEO work with Press Releases.  If you have a blog, or some Pres Release out there with you name on it, They will call you looking to get you to spend money with them....

Called at 8:15 this morning didn't leave a message. I googled the number, found these posts, put them on my black list in "Call Control" and will never hear from them again. Call Control is by far my favorite app.

I previously reported that this is a legitimate company, and this true, but they must have hired a telemarketing staff recently. Dan P. Dava got through to me on July 10. He called because I signed up for a free white paper about one year ago. I told him we're not looking to do anything right now and that I will get back to him if/when the timing is right. He sent me an email with information about Vocus.

Since July 10, he has been calling twice a week, always before 7:00 a.m. I've let the calls go to voice mail, until this morning. This morning I answered with "what time is it?" and he said "9:48 eastern...oh I'm so sorry I woke you up...I'm looking for Karen" and when I said "I'm Karen", he launched into his exact same script from when we first spoke. I told him he had already emailed me and I reminded him of what I said, and the whole time he denied that we had ever spoken. So I went to my computer, forwarded the email from him back to him, and he acknowledged finally that we had already spoken. I told him again that I do not want to speak with him now, and he started back into his spiel about our website. I yelled at him and hung up. Now, because of this unprofessional and unintelligent person, I will NEVER do business with this company EVER.

If that doesn't sound like a paid for comment - well shoot me in the foot.

People - realize there are companies who take payment to write reviews for businesses - both good for the hiring company - and bad for their competition.


I'm surprised "Billy" didn't give us his/her telemarketers name.


Just my opinion - I am not always right... just skeptical because of language.

Hooray, let's all over react. Maybe we should call the FBI & Homeland while we're at it. I think someone needs bigger fish to fry.

They made many attempts to reach me and once I decided to listen, I found the company had something of value for add to our existing marketing strategy. I am not saying Vocus is for everyone but we found their software useful.

I have reported them to the FCC, Don't care if they are a legitimate biz, PR WEB if you are seeing this, you are spamming people.

I hate this company when they keep calling 3 times a day, never stop!
I hope they understand, when people not picking up, means we are busy or don't want to communicate with them.
I'm also on the online business, I might want to use their service one day, but the way the call really turn me off!

I have received around 10 phone calls from PRWeb, 9 at around 7am in the morning and one earlier today at 11am. I have told them that I consider their calls as spam and that I do not give them permission to call me, even stating that I would file police, BBB and any other reports I will have to file to get them to stop calling. Instead of stopping, they keep calling. Instead of hanging up as usual, they stayed on the line with me today long enough for me to issue a longer complaint with them. They told me that they have only called me once, despite the fact that their phone number is listed and they clearly identified themselves as PRWeb every time they've called. They informed me today that they would now take my name off their list and will stop calling, but I doubt it, and it looks like I will have to file more serious complaints. I spoke with 3 people today: Manager Erik, and the operator that I believe called me the other times as well, Carmela. Manager Erik refused to give me his last name, nor his extension. He did say that PRWeb and Vocus are the same company, which has two websites: http://www.vocus.com/ and http://www.prweb.com/. I have never called them before. My phone number is publically listed as the number of my independent Anaphora Literary Press. I would never hire a marketer, and definitely not one that harasses me over the phone and wakes me up 7 days in a row, and then lies about having called before. Therefore, it's clear that their business is to harass people not to seriously attempt to sell a marketing service. They are breaking national anti-spam laws that forbid companies from contacting customers that have specifically asked to never be contacted again. I hope that everybody else that receives their harassing calls will file a complaint with the police or another reporting body so that these calls do not harass other Americans in the future.

Yes, they are calling me again.  This time the telemarketer could barely speak English.  I had to ask her 3 times to tell me who she was with.  I could not understand her the first 2 times.  Terrible telemarketers!!
