I got a call, but didn't bother answering it.  Voice mail is this lady rambling about how you won this package and you can go to miami or california.

I am on the do not call list too and was called today May 26 and thank you all for reporting this so I can disregard the caller and /or report them to the authorities. I don;t fill out forms and did fly one time this year. I do have cap 1 like other ppl stated as well.  I do not answer unknown numnbers and my voicemail is always full now so no one can leave a message. May tick some people off but makes my life easier.

I'm studying abroad in Amsterdam and the only people who call me on my international phone are my parents. The number wasn't saved to my cell phone so I assumed I didn't know the person and I'm glad I didn't because from the other comments it sounds like I would have had an enormous bill. They left a message but I can't access voicemail from here so I'll just have to assume it was this aforementioned telemarketer.

Received the same call. Figured I'd check it out online because it sounded false. Like the fact they didn't mention my name... am sure calling would cost you a pretty penny and would get you a billion more calls and/or you identity solden if you gave any personal info.

Did anyone that got this call sign up for Capital One within the last several months? After I signed up with them a lot of scams and schemes started contacting me. "Things I would be interested in" apparently means scams to them. Lovely.

Call from 1-240-699-8953, telemarketer saying "free airline tickets and vacation, to claim you must attend a promotional presentation". I called the Residence Inn in Newark, DE to inquire what company was doing the presentation. They said it was Vacation Network. The telemarketing company is originating out of Adamstown, MD, but I haven't been able to track down the name.  In the phone message it sounds like "Sandstrom", but not sure. I would like to call them and complain!

At 2:41PM on 02/13/2009 I received an incoming call on my Milwaukee, WI cell phone from 240-699-8953. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it. A voice mail message was left by a Maggie (that was from some promotional office with (said too fast too understand) some advertising place. Stating that I or a family member filled out a promotional form and that I was one of the winners. I was told to call 1-800-282-3958.

1. I *never* fill out promotional forms
2. I *never* give out my cell phone number to anyone but family/friends.
3. This company did *not* have consent to call my personal cell phone.
4. If I truly filled info out on a form (as they falsely claimed that I did) - they would have used my name in the call to acknowledge such a fact, but never did.

Do some research online with the numbers that call you and you shall see that it is a SCAM. I knew it was once I received the call.

As stated on the National Do Not Call Registry website. "FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers don?t call consumers on their cell phones without their consent."

If you received a call on your personal cell phone than submit a formal complaint to the FCC - which you can do online. here at: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

Same as some of the above- my cell # is on a DNC list and the caller (woman) went on and on (very VERY fast speaker) about a family member signing up recently and we may have won.  Know this to be false as nobody in my fam would give out my personal cell #.

Called my cell phone today & offered "free" airline tickets. Yeah right & elephants fly too. That call wasted a minute of my airtime. My cell phone number is on the DNCL (Do Not Call List).
