I currently work for standard, i  am  an indigent recovering addict living in a recovery house in south Florida. To keep a roof over put head we are headed like cattle into this place where we scam maintenance men to agree to accept our supply catalog , then   don't ask but tell them we are sending them "just a small order,s half box of bulbs  just to have you on the summer record, but call me back when you need the big stuff do i can actually make a buck off of you v (fake haha:)" so without Ever discussing price and just by stating that they are authorized to buy and saying okay we've got em. Its disgusting I'm ashamed, its my third day and if i had anywhere else to go i wouldn't  be doing this...they exploit the hell out of young people in early recovery down here and were desperate enough to do it bc typically our pasts have l severely limited our options,i know mine has.

I almost forgot to post this:  A few days later,  "John the electrician" called again, asking for "Bob Smith" (the fake name I had given him previously).  As innocent as I could be, I said, "We don't have anyone by that name."

John was quick enough on his feet to regroup and ask for the facilities manager's name.  I told him it is Dino Crocetti, and that Dino is out today, but that I could give hm Dino's direct line.  So I gave him the fax number.  I haven't heard from John or Standard Electric since then.  I kind of miss them.

Also, Dino Crocetti's stage name was Dean Martin.

We have been getting phone calls from them calling themselves Midway Electric. I totally messed with them today. I transferred him to the voice mail of our safety guy and then went and listened to the voice mail and deleted the message. They have gotten very rude in the past using the "f" word repeatedly. What a bunch of jack***es.

The boys and girls at Standard Electric are a hoot.  If you don't let yourself get rattled it can be fun to rattle THEM.  Today, "John the electrician" said he was in our working warehouse, needed to talk to the facilities manager -- "What was his name again??"  So, I told "John" the facilities manager's name is Bob Smith.  Which it isn't.  John said, "Oh Yeah!  Bob!  Is he there?  Can you run and get me his cell?"  HAH!  As if!

Once about a year ago I was not as pleasant with "John", and he said I was very mean.  LOVE IT.

Poor dumb things.  What an awful way to have to make a living.

I get calls from this place all the time claiming to be a light bulb and maintenance supply company.  They start off with all sorts of chit chat then say they want to send out their latest catalog along with a nice gift from the Bass Pro Shop.  They say they were given some nice gifts when they did a recent relamp of the store.  When I tell them we can't take gifts he says fine.  He then goes on to say he is going to be busy for a few months so he is going to send us along a case of our most used lamps so we don't run out.  When i say we don't want his lamps he hangs up.  I called him back (have caller ID) and he wouldn't even speak after picking up the phone.  He fianlly answered "Warehouse" just like he did the first time, same voice and everything.  I told him to take us off his call list and quit calling, I don't appreciate people who hand up on me.  He denied talking to me denied he was the Paul who had called in the first place and denied even having a Paul at that number.  Quite a liar i must say!

Got the same call today from"Johnny" 240-786-4639 at Midway.  He spoke to our receptionist and was fishing, wanted to speak to a maintenance supervisor.  One time I was happy to be in a meeting.  Have gotten these calls before, usually trying to sell cleaning supplies, light bulbs, grease, will send free samples or offer a camera or something.  I get this scam about two to three times a year.  They invoice about a month after the "free" samples are sent.  I guess they are hoping to find a lazy department manager or purchasing department.

Got the same call. Told the guy I didn't like the scam he was pulling and he told me to "shove the phone up my anal cavity."   I don't understand what they feel they can accomplish by scamming people's cell phone numbers off of them.

They are pulling the same scam with a new telephone number and name.  They may be in Florida but they are using a P.O. Box in Maryland.  Johnson Distribution in Owings Mills, MD.  There new number is (877) 223-6371.  Still send out supposedly free bulbs and then follow up weeks later with a $600 invoice.

We told them to come pick up there bulbs we weren't paying anything.

They are such scammers they have no heart.

The company is based from Florida. I thought it was a legit job but then realized it was a scam. I didn't call anybody because i was just in training. If you guys are having problems with them here is there address 495 NE 4th st,del ray beach,FL and once you get to 495 its the building directly behind. You will see round tables with umbrellas. and cars with license plates from different states. The guys are drug addicts and willing to scam anybody to get money.

All of these complaints are 100% legit. The owner of this company Eric Epstein also owns other LLC's that scam companys out of money. He is a known petifile and involves himself frequently with prostitution. He doesnt know it but is currently being investigated for these allegations in Maryland, they recently believe he has up and moved to Florida to avoid this investigation. Not gonna work buddy. Karma is a bi*** Mr. Epstein. They have literally broken the law on many occassions as a company. Accepting checks which were sent by accident and then destroying all evidence of such checks. Dont worry guys, hes gonna get his very soon.

These people sent me 2 cases of bulbs on a 3 year old PO# that was issued by the previous maintenance manager. I called the number on the box and got an answering service that said they would have to take my number so the company could call me back. After getting the runaround for a
few weeks I just returned to sender. They kept trying to bill me for them at $480 a case but I refused to pay and the finally stopped calling. This is absolutely a scam.

So I just got a call back from Rick Breez "the electrician" at Johnson.  He asked to speak to our servcice manager again.  When I told him that he couldn't he told me I was being really nosy and he was going to come over to the office to deal with me.  When I told him that if he did I would call the police he said, "I am the police.  I was just tricking you when I said I was the electrician."  I told him I didn't believe him then he called me a b***ch and hung up.  I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau out of Maryland so we'll see what happens

We just got a call from this guy too.  Said yesterday that he was the electrician meeting from Johnson our service manager out on the job site.  When he talked to the service manager he started trying to sell him lightbulbs.  He called back today and said that he needed to talk to our service manager.  When I told him we weren't interested in anything he was selling, he started yelling at me that he wasn't selling anything and he was from Hanson.  I told him not to call back here because I wasn't interested in hearing his lies anymore and he said "whatever" and hung up on me.  What a scam!

The people at this number have been repeatedly calling although we have asked them several times to take us off their list.  They hang up when you tell them the maintenance director is out working on the property.  I mean, what maintenance person is sitting at a desk waiting for a scam phone call?

Spoke to this guy myself today.  He was posing as an electrician.  When I explained that my maintenance director was out and that I could not give out cell numbers, he started yelling at me that it would be my fault if he didn't get the part number and things not be fixed today.  What a jerk!

I got in touch with the company.  The lady who answered the phone was receptive and said she took us off the list.  When I explained the situation to her you could tell that she gets many of these calls per day.  She sent me to a sales manager "Jason", who listened to me then he starts yelling at me and denying that any of his people would use these tactics.  So, I yelled back at him and told him if a sales manager speaks to people this way, then so do salesmen!  Unbelievable!

A man called and asked to speak to our head of maintenance, said he was returning his call.  He then asked for our maintenance man's cell phone and I said he doesn't have one.  He said he was calling him back about the lighting ballasts he ordered and I said he would not have ordered that.  I tried to get information out of him and he did say he was Steve Freeman with Midway Electric.  He did not have a phone number because he was on the road but he said our maintenance guy already had his number. He was very vague and hung up after I asked so many questions.

Got a call this morning from 240-786-4646.  The caller started the conversation by saying "this is Ron and I was just talking with your head of maintenance, what's his name?"  Yeah, like I was going to fall for that one...  So I asked him when he last spoke with the person he was asking about and he got flustered.  I asked what # our maintenance guy gave him to contact him back and he said "this number", which he was referring to my office phone number.  I told him that our maintenance guy wouldn't have given that number out and his response was, "well my secretary gave me this number".  He said that he wanted to talk to our head of maintenance about the electrical work being done in the building.  Interesting....because we are in the process of downsizing and we are not getting any electrical work done here.  Nice try caller.  You'll have to come up with a better line than that when you're calling a major financial institution.  We're skeptics for a reason.  It's called FRAUD PREVENTION!!!
